At 11:45 This water producing bore hole was driven through the entire mountain to check for mineralization on the other side... The loop in the rock was used to support the drill !

Wow that is so cool. I remember going with my parents with some friends of ours to Monte Cristo as a kid back in the mid to late 1970's I do remember seeing a mine up on a hill from the store front and we tried to hike up to that mine. But I don't we even made it. Also there was a mine not far from the Big Four Picnic area right on the road that hidden by ferns and I would go check it out. I could only see inside but I couldn't go inside. Thanks for sharing your video.

Climbing the shaft up the ore chute must have been one helluva trip, I tried to climb past the cave in at the end, wedged in the rotten timbers and soggy clay it didnt look passable however there's a lot of water pouring out. There's also another small opening in the cliffs.

The blue bulb was a flash bulb from the 1950's, they were used for indoor or low light film photography.

I would like some side information about how many men worked that mine. Who laid the tracks, who brought the supplies up to them.

No track at all ,all hand drilled. They used black powder and was hauled out in sacks ! VERY early days.

I didn't know there was an upper portal, now i have to go back and check it out.
Have you ever been to the Emma Moore mine? Its a sketchy climb and short but still pretty cool. There should be 2 portal as well but I was only about to find one of them.

Upper is Steep! Emma have not been to. Been to all the others except O&B

@@NWUEmines I’ve done just about all the others too, just a few small and lesser know ones I need to somehow find. Most of the O&B mine is flooded and what’s not is just a small section at the entrance. The flooded part is too deep for waders but there’s still a couple feet of head room so I plan to revisit it sometime soon to figure out someway past it. Upper portals are collapsed but the 2 lower ones (same elevation) are still accessible.

Are you confusing the Emma Moore with the Hannah? Hannah is the one with the long blond waste dump down over the talus. Emma Moore is a short snub tunnel on the little ridge to the left of the Hannah. Should be another snub tunnel on the other side of that little ridge. Not much to the Emma Moore, but the Hannah is an interesting little prospect of around 75 to a 100 feet in length.

@@dakotanewman4443 Ah, the O&B mines. Four tunnels. Two flooded. You should be able to get past the deep part at the entrance by going in the lower adit to the place where you can climb up onto a small ledge and then crawl over to the flooded one and walk from there. Still need waders, but that far back the water shouldn't be that deep.

@@daryljacobson7462 when I was there last year I tried to get past that spot but even poking in the water with a 6ft stick I couldn’t feel the bottom, couldn’t walk along the edges either. It’s a goal to get back in there one way or another this year though, I’ll float or maybe even swim if I have to.

Please remove the verbiage, abandoned mine as that is not an accurate statement. The 76 Mine is Private property.
