Yes, actually I just uploaded an entire series with new videos on a play list. Check my playlists and you will see my playlist called Stray Kitten Rescued Daily Vlog. In that series I introduce our new kitten to several dogs and a cat. Enjoy.
Yep. Is that a lab, or lab- mix? They are known for wanting to eat or play, basically not much else. Well , at this size, either one would be a bit dangerous for the kitten, if no one is around.... ^^
Sadie is a very obedient and gentle dog. I'm glad to see you hold the kitten securely in your hands - that's a good start & Sadie is just so sweet with a small kitty.
+Young Raines Thank you for the compliments. Sadie actually plays with the cats now, and protects them from other dogs too. She is soo sweet. We have made LOTS of videos of them together now. Thanks for watching.
+Frosty Life Could you by chance tell me how I could introduce a kitten to a slightly aggressive dog ( a Chihuahua). My parents are allowing me to have a cat as long as it's outdoors, they know I plan on moving out but I want it to be indoors while it's a kitten. I want to show that the cat can be apart of the family so they're more partial to it at least being an indoor/outdoor cat. how can I get the two animals more accustomed to one another while they're out working. Please help. I would like to start about 6 weeks after it's been born.
+brosep 263 I agree, keep your kitten inside while it is a kitten. That is a good time to let your cat get used to the dog. The main thing you want to do is let your dog get bored of the kitten over time. If your dog realizes that the kitten is not a threat, and not a toy, then your dog will pretty much learn to just leave the cat alone. It takes time. It takes a few weeks. So here is what you do. Let the kitten get used to at least one room in the house without the dog for a few days. The kitten learns that room is a safe place. Then let your dog see the cat, but keep your dog on a leash so he does not attack or chase the kitten. Make sure the room is very quiet, and no other people. Just sit super calm and firmly say NO every time your dog barks or tries to chase the cat and pull him back on the leash. Act super calm and encourage your dog to do the same thing. Sit with your dog. Your calm behavior will eventually teach the dog to also be calm. Be patient. It takes many days or weeks and there will be probably very slow progress. Eventually your dog will learn from you that when you are both around the cat, you are very calm, and quiet, and that the cat is really not very interesting. It is ok to let the cat hiss and swat at the dog, because eventually the dog will learn that is what will happen if he pushes the cat too far. If your dog acts calm enough eventually, then let the dog off the leash and let him get close to and sniff the cat, but pick him up and leave the room with him if he barks or chases, ever. I think over time you will see progress and your dog will be used to the cat. Eventually the cat will actually be curious about the dog and perhaps might even be nice and play with the dog. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
Frosty Life Thank you so much for the advice! I'll try be sure to try this soon. I'l give update you when the time is right. Thank you so much for replying so fast.
I like your approach. Only critiques I would mention is follow through with the dog when she gets to excited. She backs off but does not calm herself all the way. On the last approach you could have trusted her a bit more she was being respectful and calm in her approach. The last thing is not to forget that cats can be corrected too. Kitty will probably calm down once he learns the dog's body language but if hissing and batting persists you may have to work with kitty's social manners too. :)
We also introduced two dogs to our cats. One at a time. It takes lots of time, coordination and patience, but very much worth it when the trust and respect each others space. I love then the cats invite the dogs to play.
@AnimalShorts4you it was a lot easier than I thought. The Belgian got bored of the kitten pretty quicky, the Dalmatian was pretty hyper about the whole thing, but it was just excitement there was no harm in it. After a week she almost completely ignored the cat, unless it pounced in her 😂
Awwww...reminds me of my pet rat "Holmes", he also used to do that, like a very, very small, white, red eyed puppy. He thanked everyone for petting him or even taking notice of him by grooming one. He also followed me around the kitchen and sat on my foot, tapping against my leg when I opened the cabinets and the fridge. I learned to stay on the spot like I'm glued to the ground, to not step onto him, while preparing their veggies and fruits ....^^ They always got melon, even in the winter, because they loved it so much. I think I paid more for their food then for mine usually... He was a rescue, who had been thrown in a garbage bin to die , with lots of other rats. He turned out to be the most affectionate, kind, people loving rat I ever had the pleasure of living with. He never, ever tried to bite once, not even the vet, not even when he got his final injection. He died of respiratory failure and a tumor, affecting his lung and heart, though we tried everything, maybe I even tried too much ....I'll never forget this little guy. Though I never wanted a red eyed rat before....boy was I wrong....
Sadie is obviously a total sweetheart and more than little excited about a new kitty friend for this grey cutesy to handle in one go. Try a child barrier when she meets her next kitty friend. She'll be able to be excited about the new cat and the cat will feel protected and more confident to get to know Sadie.
That is a great idea. He is a brave kitten too. Some kitties would just freak out and be fearful for a long time. Thanks for commenting. Enjoy my channel.
My new kitten is hissing ay my dogs .. once attacking one which I didn’t expect. It’s a rag doll and very very sweet and lax. What should I do to combat this issue??
Give the cat in the dog time and space to get used to each other under super vision. Good thing so while in the cat will always show dominance over a dog just to establish the rules. As long as the cat does not scratched the dog's eyes then all is good
@@Yorkie111 I also just got a 6 month old male ragdoll. Just finished first night. My 70 lb 2 year old German/Aussie pup laid by the bedroom door crying all night wanting to see the kitten, ugh. Might try to introduce them more today. I heard putting cat in a travel crate so dog can sniff the crate, then eventually open the crate door so cat can come out once comfortable.
@@C69cole I feel your pain!!! It's wearing me out man lol. My dogs and the kitten are actually getting along pretty well now, but it's exhausting having to watch them 24/7 because I worry about pugs eyes getting scratched. So far so good though, dogs are less interested in him as the days go by which is what I want. good luck! Btw the thing that really helped me was buying a baby gate so they can see each other, but the dogs can't pass through and the kitten can on his own terms!
@@Yorkie111 Ironically I just finished laying on the ground for the last hour with my very antsy/crying pup while peaking under the baby gate and eyeing the ragdoll hiding under the bed. It was stressful for all of us but hopefully it helped. Ragdoll did approach the gate for a minute until he ran back under the bed. I also picked up ragdoll and slowly approached the gate which lasted about 30 sec until rag wanted to get away.
I just got a kitten yesterday and I am having a hard time introducing her to my two dogs. My dogs wants to play with her like how they usually play but my new baby isn't so big. My dogs aren't trained but they are so kind to people. They are just so playful.
My lord 😭 my dad was holding my 10 week 2lb kitten & wanted my 100lb pitpull to meet 🤦🏽♀️ lets just say my dad had to get my dog to run away as fast as he can because my kitten was out for the kill. Ive never seen my kitty that aggressive🤣 i was scared for my poor dogs life.
Love this! Brother, this is animal training at its finest! Really appreciate your technique switching between the animals, doing the rest of time being the mediator, it’s like watching a symphony and your narrating the body language makes a huge difference on processing the changes between behaviour. Resonate a lot with the isolated room method keeping control, gonna try and take some ideas from this for sure. EXCELLENT video, very well done
@@FROSTYLIFE check this out, I credited your video helping my time line: Day 3: 2 carin Terrier’s and kitten sharing floor, no gates, no doors Week 4: playing Week 8: sharing food My dogs are 6, carin + jack mixes, kitten is a 8 week old adopted so the timeline reflects days spent guiding the two dogs and the cat into there Initial start. I put a lot of work into my dogs but I still remember watching this video and just remembering to stay focused on the goal, keep control, just great understanding of animal behaviour. Well done again!
My younger sister's black female rescue labrador does not like or get along with my cats at all. In fact, she chases them every chance she gets. Sadie is a great dog and quite disciplined. You are adept with helping pets getting acquainted.
I like this one right away more than other ones I've seen because your dog was pulling. Much more realistic than the uninterested dogs in other videos I've seen. Good 🦶 block too. This is perfect for my house 😂
lily versluis If you are persistant and patient with your dog, you can show your dog exactly how much play is ok and what you consider to be too rough. Every time your dog gets too rough then say NO and completely stop and be very quiet and just sit completely still for at least a minute. Your dog wants positive reinforcement if he does something that makes you unhappy always react the same way, with an immediate scold, take the cat away and then make sure your dog has a quiet moment with your disapproving look. Soon your dog will learn what is considered inappropriate in your pack. Good luck and enjoy that little kitten.
Thank you very much! He's been doing so well with my new kitten who I've named Macy :) he still gets a bit rough sometimes but she tells him off better than I do with a few hisses and sometimes a threatening swipe to the nose!! ;)
Thank you for posting a real video of this. We just got a dog and our older cat isn't too happy and hisses at our dog we rescues...she is so scared of him she barks and runs away. Today though I think she got a little excited when she saw our cat on the floor and wanted to play...but of course a dogs play is different than a cat play im really going to have to do this
Thank you so much. Yes, it is worth the time because we really strive to have positive energy in our house and encourage our pets to respect and trust and protect each other. They really do well when I am consistent and persistent. We upload weekly family vlog videos and you will see the pets quite often. 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 daughters and our lake home.
The last time we did that it was first four kittens followed a little later with five. The usual introduction consisted of the old dog lying down in the lounge, soaking up the sun, and one or more of the kittens sniffing at this curious object, then variously playing with tail or climbing over and in a couple of cases falling asleep while leaning against the dog. The old house cat just ambled by from time to time, but the mother cats seemed pretty laid back...
I adopt a cat she is scared of my dog.but she always peekaboo of her. Well my dog is sweetheart she wanna play with her. Cat always hisses. And see her while hiding
I introduced my dog to our new kitten my dog was so good and loved her and just wanted to cuddle her and help her the cat hissed like hissed like hell and scared the crap out of my dog
I have a 150lb 6 year old Great Dane/American Bulldog mix and just was given a 3 week old kitten that is less than 1 pound and bottle feeding. I sure hope that once the kitten gets more mobile it goes as good as this meeting went
Thank you for this video. I have a 90lb male German shepherd puppy. Our old cat raised him from a little pup, so she always had the upper paw if you will. Now we are getting a new kitten, but he's just so BIG now, and exuberant/playful. I'm going to ramp up his daily training & exercise (he's almost 2 & so much calmer when he gets to work & run each day) until kitty gets here (a few more weeks till he's old enough). I've done this slow intro before, a long time ago & those animals became BFFs. Great job! Ps Sadie is such a sweetie & Leo seems like a cool kittie.
@Frosty Life Well, I haven't introduced them yet. I'm nervous as my GSD terrorized a bunch of geese at the river today. We've had kitten a week. I have a cute video of them communing via the sliding glass door. Thank you for asking! I'll definitely keep you posted!
+Frosty Life have you ever give lily a whole watermelon? if not maybe try it sometime, you will laugh so hard. my blue nose pit got his 1st whole watermelon a couple of weeks ago, we laughed so hard. If you would like to, you could subscribe to my channel and you can watch my pit play with the watermelon.
I’m currently trying to introduce my kitten to my babygirl hazel anddddd hazel is always excited to meet new people or animals but doesn’t know how to control it . My kitten and my hazel are both asleep a good foot away from each other but hasn’t gotten the change to let the kitten run against her or anything so progress is being made and your video is awesome thank you !!!!
Nice dog. I introduced 2 kittens to my mastiff x akita and my german shepherd, the dogs were far too eager at first but once they learnt to lay down and stay away the cats came to them, it took a week or 2 before the cats became normality. The mastiff x loves them!!
Awww, cute. It is good you took the time to make sure it worked out well and the dogs learned the correct way to behave around such little critters. I love watching 100 pounds of eagerness tempered into such kind behavior.
Im in the process of introducing my 4 dogs ranging from 40lbs to 100lbs to my new kitten. My 2 rottweilers are very enthusiastic too. Luckily she isn't afraid of them. For now when they are in the main part of the house together she stays in a large bird cage that has her litter box, cat tree, hiding hole and lots of toys, so they can safely interact and get to know each other without me having to hold my dogs back, which typically gets them more amped up. We take turns in a room with one dog at a time to let them try fully interacting. So far my smallest dog, a schnauzer mix which at first was very much looking at her like prey, is doing very well with her and they play well together without him escalating. My plan is once all the dogs do well with her one on one, we'll move to two at a time with her and so on. She also gets time to roam the house without the dogs in it so she can find escape routes for when we finally can have them all fully cohabitating
Frosty Life I just stumbled across your "squirrel teasing " video and fell in love! I'm always taking videos of our cat murphy and dog Ollie. Murph is the only one of the 3 that will actually play with Ollie lol we found our little one Abby on a cold January morning, she had a limp so we had to take her in. wasn't sure if we'd keep her but she brought the older two cats back to life so that clinched it hahaha and yes, very true indeed.... There's a pet for each one of our pets lmao
Sadie is a good puppy! My dog is not that sweet, calm or patient....I would like to get a cat but nervous since my dog is extremely territorial and can be aggressive. Any advice on how to introduce in this situation? Or maybe I should just not get a cat? Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you!
Yes, this went really well, much better than the other video. There were 1 or 2 moments where you could've let the dog make physical contact with the cat. Great improvement. You know it's fine when the cat is there and the dog is more concerned with drinking, that's really good. Cat looks awesome by the way, makes me wanna get a cat now lol.
Thank you. Your comment on the other video prompted me to put a link with a statement that people should see this video to watch it done correctly. I also have a video where my dog meets a stray cat outside. I will link that on this one. Your ideas and comments really helped give me more ideas because I better understand what my viewers are looking for. Thanks XaeeD
Hey! That's actually a good idea.. the dog can drink even when theres no water and your not there!!! Loll i wish my beagle could do that.. but he wont even eat when were not there.. lol
That is very kind of you. I love sharing my dog and my cat so that people can watch their fun times with each other. Thank you for the very kind comment.
Trying to introduce my very enthusiastic aussie to a skittish little kitten. He knows the kitten is in the bathroom and will beg in front of the door to meet him. I know it'll be tough, but once our dog is calm, he's a gentle goblin.
It takes time for a dog to leave a cat alone sometimes. Be consistent in showing the dog that it is very undesirable to chase the cat and reward when the dog is sitting nice. Over time the dog will learn that the cat is part of your pack.
Frosty Life Most pet stores will trim nails for your dog cheaply - they know the techniques to get it done quickly without upsetting the dog AND how to not cut the nail too short. I have a cat the size of a dog and that's what I do.
My dog is like the same as yours I bet she would react the same, we're getting a cat soon.....we refered alot of videos but this is gonna help the most!!!!!
Sadie reminds me so much of my Rosie. Rosie and Theo were best friends, and they'd chase and play together all the time once they really got to know each other. Now that I have Angel, my current cat, she's got me all to herself. She andZahara got along quite well, but at first, she had to get used to Zahara when I adopted her in 2013. My four Guide dogs: Kiev, a Black Lab follow by Yellow Lab Tapestry, then Black Lab Rosetta and my last Guide was Zahara, a Yellow Lab. They all came from Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California. They've all been surrounded by other dogs and cats from the time they were puppies. I was so glad, too, because they only needed minimal supervision on-leash when I first brought them home. Once everybody got along, it was like "a little piece of heaven", as Bill Archy, who trained me and Zahara back in 2008 put it. I had gone to California to train with her, but I got sick and had to return home. Thank God I was able to recover in time for the two of us to be reunited. We worked for nine years together, but Zahara was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on her heart and had to be put down on April 22. It's been the hardest adjustment having to go back to using the cane, but I'm managing it as best as I can. Atlanta, Georgia is not a safe city to live in if you're blind, and I can't work anymore, because I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia which is incurable (by current medical standards--(what standards). There's no mobility training for me available, either, because I am not working, so I'll have to wait until I turn 55 before I can qualify for another instructor and a dog. Do you believe in miracles?
I can relate, a peice of heaven is a very good way to describe it when pets and family all learn how to live with and support each other with so much compassion and love. I do believe in an all powerful and loving God and that God can work miracles. You have fantastic names for your dogs and loving memories.
Just went thru this with a lab same exact experience him and the cat are now inseparable he doesn't understand his size with the kitten sometimes but she loves playing with him just as rough I have to always tell them to cut the horse play down as if they were 2 kids🤣
This is amazing. I have an 1 year old collie, and I’m bout to adopt a eight week kitten. My collie acts just like your dog around other animals. How long have you had the cat until you started the introduction process?
I had the other cat separated in a bedroom foe two days first, to let it acclimate to our house and be comfortable , then let the cat roam by its own free will while I kept the dog with me to supervise
just bought a kitten today who's a little high strung, and my collie is WAY too curious and invasive of the cat's space - hopefully doing something like this might help!! lovely video, you have some beautiful pets!!
I got a kitten for the first time of my life November 3. He is a male and we are the first one in my whole family to adopt a cat. We are all dog person. Anyway, my dog is a bichon frise, he never really met cat before and he is ten years old. We are trying to do interaction one time a day, we let them eat while seeing each other in their own room. Usually, my dog wants to go play with the kitten and the kitten get scared and run away. Sometimes, he hiss and bristle his fur but he never attack, he is always in defensive position. But yesterday, the kitten started to approach the dog on his own. When the dog started moving, he run away again but at least, he approached him, quite close. I don’t know if it’s a good point ? He is a very sociable and curious lil kitten while my dog is a very lazy but also very sociable dog. The kitten looks exactly like yours, maybe just a lil bigger and with some white paws and belly, and green eyes
+pieta eggels that would be fun to see a dog hanging out with a rabbit. Your dog must have done a good job earning the trust of your rabbit. That means your dog will do very well once he gets used to your kitten. Let me know how it goes.
+Frosty Life I have my kitten now, they have been on my bed at the same time and every once and a while she hisses at my dog and rabbit.. But I have only had her a few days now. :)
thank you for this video..... im pretty nervous about introducing my 5 year old lab to our knew kitten. you seem like a pro. Do you have any tips? I also got a 3 year old boy and 9 year old girl who would also want to be involved in the process.
This really really helps me because my dogs a female as well and i really cant tell if she wants to mother this kitten, or eat it. Shes licking it and following it and pointing at it and barking but i just cant read this situation. Thank you so much for posting this. 😊👍💜😺
Yes, the best advice is very close supervision when they are together, and at times when you cannot supervise, then keep them apart. The dog will loose interest over time and the cat will gain trust, and there will be much peace and harmony. It is fun to let them interact with close supervision so that you can show to dog what behavior you desire. Praise good behavior, and remove the dog when she is doing something too aggressive. The dog is not being bad in those cases, but just being a playful dog, or sometimes instinct might cause the dog to be a little to rough, or even just attack, but as long as you are there to coach the dog, then the dog is not set up for failure.
I have no idea what is right or wrong way to approach this. My terrier cross would have nothing to do with cats. It was the only thing he would not obey a command given. You are protecting both interests. Beautiful dog and cat !! Good luck !!
Garth Downton thank you. I succeeded, my dog is good friends with BOTH of our cats now, and she even plays with them and protects them. We upload weekly videos about them now because they are so much fun.
Aww Leo looks just like the little female I’m expecting to pick up tomorrow and Sadie looks just like my male yellow lab! He’s about a year old so he’s still in full puppy mode but he’s almost full grown Id say. I’m hoping their introduction goes this smoothly once we do let them meet face to face. I’m excited and nervous all in one. This video gave me hope they will coexist peacefully and become friends eventually! Thanks for the upload!
I wish you the best of luck with the new kitten. It takes time and patience. All 3 of my cats now walk right up to the dogs and they trust each other. A couple of my cats will even sleep next to the dog
Hey, I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment or if anyone else can answer this. My cat is 12 weeks old and we have older dogs that are outside. The female is going into heat sometime soon and we want to bring her into the house with kitty. Kitty is scared of the dog (I think it’s a size issue and doesn’t like the dog’s scent). We are trying to get kitty less scared first. Kitty won’t let you take her outside and she starts scratching when you try to. So, last week we’ve started taking her out in the carrier. She hissed the first couple times, and now has not hissed at doggy. What would be the next thing to do?
So my dog is super low energy elderly puggle who usually will just try to sniff any new animals calmly, she doesnt try to get much closer than to just sniff them, is there anything i should do? Or just hold the kitten and let her do her sniffing then she will walk away?
I have a 1 year old black Lab, and he is 1,000 times more enthusiastic than that. He sees cats and goes absolutely bonkers, jumping, barking, tail about to fly off. and while i know he wouldnt intentionally hurt a a kitten, i cant say he wouldnt do it on accident.
You probably won't read this since its been 3 years since you uploaded this, but i can't wait to try this with my pets! Your video was a lot of help, and i will be trying these techniques soon!
I just saw your comment and thank you. I hope my ideas with introducing a dog and cat work out for you. Remember, take time, be patient and supervise every moment. Set them up for success. If it starts to look like they might do something aggressive, then separate them. They will learn that you desire them to respect each other. Let me know how it goes.
Frosty Life thank you! Even in a month, they aren't fully able to walk around, but my dog can lay in her bed while the cat is out without lifting her head, or twitching, or anything! There's been great improvement, and i can confidently say they will be comfortable with each other in no time!
is there another video

If you have such a special relationship with animals it means that you are a special person!
U r a loving kind of person... I like ppl who love cats n dogs...
It's amazing how Sadie obeys you and the way she slowly tries to interact with the kitten..
As long as the cat does not scratched the dog's eyes then all is good
Hey any update???? I just got a ragdoll kitten too and am going to introduce him to my 2 pugs but he is very scared and hisses at the sight of them
@@Yorkie111 I also just got a 6 month old male ragdoll.
They are just so playful.
hey i have a new kitten and i’m having a hard time introducing them , did you ever figure it out?
@@maibelyn8029 How'd it go for you? Tomorrow on 12/31/21 I'm taking in a friendly stray. Should I crate my dog?
Hi, any update about your situation?
My lord 😭 my dad was holding my 10 week 2lb kitten & wanted my 100lb pitpull to meet 🤦🏽♀️ lets just say my dad had to get my dog to run away as fast as he can because my kitten was out for the kill. Ive never seen my kitty that aggressive🤣 i was scared for my poor dogs life.
Pitbull? Bad idea
Laufield pitbulls can actually very gentle it’s all in the training
@@Laufield tortoiseshells are a bad idea. Pitbulls can just be trained and or socialized again, cats cannot. :/
How are they now with eachother?
Thank you so kindly for the positive encouragement.
@@FROSTYLIFE check this out, I credited your video helping my time line:
Day 3: 2 carin Terrier’s and kitten sharing floor, no gates, no doors
Week 4: playing
Week 8: sharing food
My dogs are 6, carin + jack mixes, kitten is a 8 week old adopted so the timeline reflects days spent guiding the two dogs and the cat into there Initial start.
You are adept with helping pets getting acquainted.
the cute chirping meow!!😍
don't ya just love that sound? I sure do. It makes me giggle so often.
I like this one right away more than other ones I've seen because your dog was pulling. Much more realistic than the uninterested dogs in other videos I've seen. Good 🦶 block too. This is perfect for my house 😂
Love that faucet, and your technique.
Odee Dillon Thank you for the kind compliment. Thanks for watching
Its so cool to see her starting to process the kitten
Impressive! You have an incredible ability to train her. Their expressions are really funny.
Sadie drinking water makes me smile 🤗
My dog.. Well more of a puppy at heart, loves to play a little rough and I hope to be getting a kitten soon!! I hope they will get along :D
lily versluis If you are persistant and patient with your dog, you can show your dog exactly how much play is ok and what you consider to be too rough.
Today though I think she got a little excited when she saw our cat on the floor and wanted to play...but of course a dogs play is different than a cat play im really going to have to do this
Our old cat never let our dog get near him, but eventually they learned to just walk around each other and not hiss or bark lol
Thank you for the very kind compliment
I really do like ur videos. So yes, I'll subscribe lol. I love that you put enough time in to make sure they get along. Well done bro.
I love when all of the pets have a mutual trust and there is peace as a result
I adopt a cat she is scared of my dog.but she always peekaboo of her. Well my dog is sweetheart she wanna play with her. Cat always hisses. And see her while hiding
Funny the dog goes to sit in the hall knowing it snuck up.
I introduced my dog to our new kitten my dog was so good and loved her and just wanted to cuddle her and help her the cat hissed like hissed like hell and scared the crap out of my dog
I think my favorite part of the video was the dog getting itself a drink of water from the sink, lol.
phaedris she loves that water fresh from the faucet
I have a 150lb 6 year old Great Dane/American Bulldog mix and just was given a 3 week old kitten that is less than 1 pound and bottle feeding. I sure hope that once the kitten gets more mobile it goes as good as this meeting went
Congratulations on the baby kitty. Cats like dogs better when they are raised as kittens with the dog.
My dog was acting really aggressively towards my new cat, but some good ol' valium sure did the trick.
(Just kidding don't kill me)
hahaha, sometimes that is what it takes
+Hassas Kofte omg hahahahah I died!!
+Frosty Life our blue nose pit bull loves our 3 cats, he sleeps in bed them.
I love pits now that we have Lily
She like how dare u bring this cat in my house lol damn coulda got a puppy sheesh!
+Jeannine M How is it going with the little kitten and the big shepard? It really does take time. Then the animals build trust and respect.
@Frosty Life
Well, I haven't introduced them yet. I'm nervous as my GSD terrorized a bunch of geese at the river today. We've had kitten a week. I have a cute video of them communing via the sliding glass door. Thank you for asking! I'll definitely keep you posted!
What a beautiful puppy :) you're a good doggy dad! I am guessing these two are good friends by now.
LOVE that Sadie can get her own drink!!
hahaha, me too. She still asks me for a drink, silly dog hahaha.
This was so cute. Thanks for sharing. I also have a 96lb dog. That I want to befriend two kittens 😬
Mastiffs are amazing dogs.....too bad their poop is so big though lol.
Barry Bliss
what happened to your dogs?
The way the kitty looked at the camera in 2:59 got me
Im in the process of introducing my 4 dogs ranging from 40lbs to 100lbs to my new kitten.
Thank you for this video, I also have 90 lbs of enthusiasm and getting a new kitten. This video is great
Your dog is so well behaved!
We have 3 cats and one dog... always love the mix... precious video!
Pets keep each other company and reassure each other. It is like getting a pet for my pet. Thank you for enjoying our weekly vlog.
This is wholesome
I love your videos they teach me a lot of tips, tricks and they are inspiring to watch :)
thank you for the very kind comment. We upload new videos every week. Thank you for watching.
Hey! That's actually a good idea.. the dog can drink even when theres no water and your not there!!! Loll i wish my beagle could do that.. but he wont even eat when were not there.. lol
I agree, and the best part is that the dog does not drink too much water either from this faucet. Beagles are so very cute.
I just love that dog!
this is awesome. and this will take so much time and patience. you have a great dog and cat. you too is awesome sir :)
Richard Almonte that is very kind of you to say, thank you for watching.
Beautiful lab!
thank you so much. I love my dog so very much. Labradors are excellent listeners and are a lot of fun.
I love your sweet dog!! All of the animals you have seem so sweet!!
That is very kind of you. I love sharing my dog and my cat so that people can watch their fun times with each other. Thank you for the very kind comment.
Going through this exact thing!! We have a kitty and high energy doggo that just wants to charge towards him then the kitty gets scared
It takes time and supervision. Keep up the good work.
Trying to introduce my very enthusiastic aussie to a skittish little kitten. He knows the kitten is in the bathroom and will beg in front of the door to meet him. I know it'll be tough, but once our dog is calm, he's a gentle goblin.
So helpful to see what this actually looks like!
My dog just wants to eat my cat:/
It takes time for a dog to leave a cat alone sometimes. Be consistent in showing the dog that it is very undesirable to chase the cat and reward when the dog is sitting nice. Over time the dog will learn that the cat is part of your pack.
Same
Dont let your dog's nails get so long, they will twist the toes :)
Oh the joy of clipping em
You are so correct. We just learned recently that long nails can cause injury. We are working harder to keep them trimmed more often.
Yeah just a thought :)
Frosty Life Most pet stores will trim nails for your dog cheaply - they know the techniques to get it done quickly without upsetting the dog AND how to not cut the nail too short. I have a cat the size of a dog and that's what I do.
Soo awesome, u sound like uncle Pecos in Tom and Jerry! Awesome accent and voice
Thanks for the video 😊 Your doggo is wonderful! Both so cute!
yo, this might work, thanks man!! I haven't tried it yet, but I think i will work
:)
Im watching all the videos i can find about introducing a kitten because my landlady is about to give me a white kitten any minute now..
My dog is like the same as yours I bet she would react the same, we're getting a cat soon.....we refered alot of videos but this is gonna help the most!!!!!
I love Sadie and that kitten is so adorable
Watching vids on UA-cam because I'm doing this today.
My dog loves cats, so it should be ok
This reminds me of my ginormous, energy ball Lab, Ozzy. I hope to introduce my new kitty to him.
Both of them are too adorable
Thank you so much. Believe it or not, they were all named at birth.
90 pounds of fun and love? jeeze, only have 60 pounds of fun and love. same breed even.
Jeremy Meneely she is now more like 85 pounds. Her daddy dog was huge
I bet.
She is now 84 pound..a big mass of muscle. we do not want her to be overweight
😸😸
Awesome really fantastic video thank you for sharing I'm going to try this with my new kitten coming...
I mean, you have a very well trained dog, but this isnt what anyone is looking for when they look up this subject.
They say to never hold a cat during first interaction...they might rip you in half.
Just went thru this with a lab same exact experience him and the cat are now inseparable he doesn't understand his size with the kitten sometimes but she loves playing with him just as rough I have to always tell them to cut the horse play down as if they were 2 kids🤣
Such a loving dog.
She really is. Thank you. I upload videos of her every week.
Yep! I love you dog very much and I have watched your videos all afternoon :D

We got a kitten last week, check it out, and Sadie is very nice to him
This is amazing. I have an 1 year old collie, and I’m bout to adopt a eight week kitten. My collie acts just like your dog around other animals. How long have you had the cat until you started the introduction process?
I had the other cat separated in a bedroom foe two days first, to let it acclimate to our house and be comfortable , then let the cat roam by its own free will while I kept the dog with me to supervise
thank you! this is helpfull to me
fantastic, let me know how it works out. Dogs and cats can get along very well if they learn to trust each other
just bought a kitten today who's a little high strung, and my collie is WAY too curious and invasive of the cat's space - hopefully doing something like this might help!! lovely video, you have some beautiful pets!!
That’s so wild my dog looks just like yours(fatter though) and also named Sadie!!
Sadie is a great name for a sweet yellow Labrador retriever.
The kitten looks exactly like yours, maybe just a lil bigger and with some white paws and belly, and green eyes
love your video very relatable for large dog owners
love the relationship with your animals
+f.u.google that is very kind of you. Thank you so much.
I have a dog and I did this the same when he met my rabbit now they are best friends.
thank u for this video
thank you for this video..... im pretty nervous about introducing my 5 year old lab to our knew kitten. you seem like a pro. Do you have any tips? I also got a 3 year old boy and 9 year old girl who would also want to be involved in the process.
It has been a year. How'd it go?
Frosty Life thank you so so much you have no idea how helpful that is! 😊
I very love this video
everything is easy with a good old labrador !
FROSTY Life That’s so sweet! Nothing makes me smile more than seeing cats and dogs who love each other like family! 💕 Thank you so much!
Lol I actually enjoyed the video.Nice
Aw he's so cute! Sadie reminds me so much of my yellow lab sunny.
I luv the field lab.
Frosty Life
thank you!
Even in a month, they aren't fully able to walk around, but my dog can lay in her bed while the cat is out without lifting her head, or twitching, or anything! There's been great improvement, and i can confidently say they will be comfortable with each other in no time!
That is very good news.
Frosty Life
Yeah! Good Improvment!
