Also loved how tuned in your daughter was to animal behaviour ? Saw her hand come up micro seconds before Prince got a bop on the nose. Wonderful, and am full of respect for you all🙂🙂🙂
The play bow is pretty much universal, to the point were a starving polar bear who was hunting a dog decided to play with it instead as a response to the play bow. Although i think perhaps from kitten perspective it might be a bit hard to decipher.

You can tell Prince wants the kittens to like him so bad. 😇 The male kitten is super chill with Prince but the female is like a land mine when Prince gets close. Prince will eventually win her over ...it's just a matter of time.😍
@@andreaamplifiedHad a Maine Coon and it was hilarious because he was already a few years old when my parents got me a Springer Spaniel. He watched over her like his own kitten. Prince is going to bond with these new furry family members just as much as he loves the rest of his family. Prince is going to be gentle, loving, and protective of them in time. I had an adult Maine Coon cat who bonded with my Sun Conure bird that my children and I hand raised. I would turn on the kitchen sink faucet and Felix the Maine Coon and Sammi the Sun Conure would drink together from the faucet and play in the water together. It was the most adorable and precious thing that I have ever witnessed between two animals who are usually incompatible and enemies. Enjoy this amazing time and I look forward to seeing more videos of Prince and the kittens. What did you and your family decide on names for the kittens? 🐕🐈⬛❤

My cat expects to be played with by the dog of the house. He's just sooo happy with them. I love how he gets down to their level. He comes to you for reasurance when the one hisses at him. "I'm doing good daddy aren't I?". lol
When Prince shifted his body away from the girl kitty and laid down when it was obvious she was NOT comfortable my heart EXPLODED, what a good sweet gentle boy!! Her not turning your daughter into swiss cheese to escape shows how that there is definitely some confidence in her too that she's standing her ground, I can't wait to see this relationship progress.
Wow! Prince immediately picks up responsibility and transforms into the nicest, playful, gentle, patient daddy. What a dog. 😍That play-bow after the little cat-jab at 6:31 is so beautiful. They're gonna be best buddies!
The gentle/careful bow starting around 2:00 is fantastic. He's so curious and excited and ready to romp but he also knows the kittens are very small and relatively frail.
He can handle giant mean dogs jumping on him, growling, muzzle-punching, but is such a nervous gentle dog when confronted with tiny kittens. He has so much respect for his owner that he is very careful to not make mistakes and is gentle with animals that could be seen as prey. It is amazing to see this side of Prince!
Little Boots is so bold! What a wonderful, cute kitten! But I have a lot of grace and sympathy for little Lou? ( the female - I might have the name incorrect). She may turn out to be the sharper of the two because I think she is registering Prince's dominant bearing (princely, really) and his size and she recognizes him as an unknown factor who might not always be friendly. Very smart of her. Your kids did great! What a lovely family you have and congratulations on your new pet-family additions. : )

The way Prince began to act around the boy cat reminds me so much of how my mom’s Cairn terrier developed his relationship to my cat. It took a few smacks for the terrier to learn the cat’s boundaries but once they were established the two became best of friends, play fighting together, exploring the house and yard together, sleeping, you name it. Seeing these opening interactions made me tear up a little and made me miss my boy some. Hopefully those two will develop that kind of bond.
These kittens couldn't have more opposite reactions! Prince was a great "gentle giant" there, quickly finding what each one is comfortable with. A real heart-warmer watching this. Him turning away when even the friendly kitten as much as raises a paw was just perfect!
So beautiful, love how your daughter is already picking up how to read animals and commenting on their behavior, such as bringing the kittens together to calm the stressed one. And prince is simply amazing, listening to him give those little whines cause he just doesn’t quite understand what to do but wants to love everyone.
Too funny! Prince just wants to be friends but when the female smacks him he runs to Dad for help. Btw, just seeing him next to you sitting on the floor and by a smaller child vs another dog like normal videos shows how big he is. He's a physical specimen. Beautiful dog dude!
Thanks for sharing, that was a great pleasure to watch prince interact with the kittens. I’m sure as you know everything in a Doberman’s life be it animate or inanimate belongs to the the dobermann. Prince will definitely look after them I foresee a great bond. Hope to see more of prince and the kittens in future videos.
Oh wow, this just reinforces what a switched on dog looks like!! Prince has a beautiful nature with delicate animals, but can definitely protect himself and his family if the need arises!!! Thank you for this insight to Prince’s paternal side!! 🥰👍
GOOD BOY PRINCE! This is impressive, what a gentle, discrete and respectful soul Prince is. 8 months ago, I used the same method to introduce my Mastiff to our new Beagle puppy: Sitting down on the rug, holding the puppy in my hand. (The big dog had been in full avoidance-mode ever since the puppy had come home 24 hours earlier, and I thought exactly what Joel said - she won't hurt what I'm holding!). The moment that puppy's little tongue licked the Mastiff's nose, the ice was broken - big girl licked its face, then its toys, and ever since, they get along great. BUT with KITTENS, that's much harder of course. Thanks for the video, fascinating, and beautiful home, by the way! ENJOY life with the little felines :-)
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful moment with Prince and the kittens ❤❤ Your children are very beautiful and they look very grounded. Well done 👏👏❤️❤️❤️
I wanna second that. Its lovely seeing that gentle but very definite (solid) caring, as a WHOLE family environment. If you read this Joel, thank you for letting us all see that in action. I LOVE your whole "tuned in ness" to all sentient beings, where that deep respect, care, and solid energy all synth together. Superb to see.
My brother heard the dog playing outside one day and he thought it was weird so looked and found there was a random cat in our yard. The dog loved it and they were having a great time! I also have a video of a cat coming up to him on a walk and I let him play with it. He likes friendly cats more than he likes dogs.
These are the kind of interactions that make me think that maybe there is credence to the whole Buddhist idea of reincarnation. Sometimes you come across a cat that is just so uncannily dog-like and vice versa that there's no other explanation. My aunt's greyhound HATES other dogs, but gets absolutely smitten with any cat they come across on walks, it's hilarious.
A year ago we took in a stray cat. She was about 8 months old, terrified and starving. Hunger motivated her to warm up to us pretty quickly, but she had a huge problem with other cats. She was growling like a tasmanian devil in presence of any other cat. Thankfully, she grew past this fear, now she only growls at strangers. ;) So maybe this kitten grew up with 3 dogs, but she just doesn't have pleasant association with them. Great introduction, I would've done it the same way. Great job raising Princey to be such a good boi. He's outstanding.
Prince is such a well-balanced and well-brought-up dog. He's naturally acting like a male in a pack should when introduced to a litter for the first time. I see your kittens are a tabby and a torti. The tabby looks really laid back and the torti is full of... tortitude. Yes, it's a thing ... :)
So true, every tabby I had was chill, loving and laid back... really avoiding fights unless they were backed up against a wall. Tortis on the other hand are full on, laying the law with attitude and being bossy. Tortitude is a perfect term for it, I'm going to use it from now on XD
@@Loffia A dear friend taught me that word and her torti demonstrated it to me :) The torti has since crossed over the Rainbow Bridge but she was indeed a most wonderful - if touchy - personality. I like tabbies a lot, too.
Watching Prince is like watching my Dobes when we introduced kittens/puppies/foals. A well raised Dobe that is introduced properly, absolutely love other animals. I can't count how many kittens our Dobes adopted and treated them as their own. One time Babe kept pestering us until we followed her over to the barn where a wild kitten was abandoned by its mom. The poor thing was sick and malnourished. Between the vet, us and Babe the kitten pulled through and started to follow Babe around like a puppy. He became a great first cat to introduce puppies to. Thank you Joel for showing how great this breed is if given a proper start.
Beautiful! We introduced our Ragdoll cat Kiwi to our male standard poodle this way. Be very patient with dogs that have high prey drive and you’ll succeed. Our cat adores Caesar and has never hissed, nor has he ever growled at her.
Amazing how good dogs can be with cats in their household. I had a big male ginger who would walk around and put them all in their place, he used to walk up and they would walk away, didn’t even have to do anything. The little girl cat we have just ignores them, they might give her a sniff but she never runs, would sometimes have a play, gives them a swat if it’s too much and the dogs just give her space. She takes over their bed sometimes. Will be interesting how these two end up with Prince. Maybe the female just holding her ground and the male being friends and having a play. Have to show us how it develops. Lovely kittens.
You’ve got to love kittens! Prince can take down a 200lbs aggressive dog but you just know these 2 kittens will chase him around and give him endless boops in total safety :)
My dad used to have a Rottweiler/Great Dane mix that was as imposing as any dog you could imagine, but he was absolutely out in place by Dads' 9 pound runt kitty, the power dynamics of animal relationships is always funny shit
What a super video. I've been thinking about getting a kitten to add to my 2-dog family. Your daughter is a natural. It was a super good move when she let Prince smell the kitten's back. ❤
Thanks for the video. I have considered a kitten, but my Minature American Shepherd has no experience with cats. I suspect he would try to herd and get smacked. Prince really is a good boy.
Aww! They have a protector for life. My cat is very confident around dogs and loves them more than people. It is useful when I have a foster who isn't cat aggressive but doesn't have much experience around them because she lets them sniff her without being afraid.
My cat was like that when she came home, she wanted to attack me but I massaged the palm of her paws and she finally ended up purring and became friendly in a heartbeat hahaha.
I LOVE this new video & content bringing two lovely new kittens into your home! This is going to make for some very interesting & useful content! Your channel keeps getting better & better! My 3yr Calico kitty naturally stands up to my new 100 lb rescue Rottie (because I have since trained him how to behave) and has smacked him, which he respects. Just like Mr. Beckman did, I taught my dog to back off when a cat hisses. Now he does a playbow when the cat asserts itself, just like Princey did! My 3yr ginger tabby Aslan just growls at Teddy, but runs away when the dog comes closer. Aslan is dominant & has chased after smaller dogs in the past. I think that as soon as the dog learns to respect a cat's personal space, the cat will feel safer & then feel comfortable to want to investigate. I love the confidence of your little male kitten! Rolling on his back like that! Very cute! Because these dogs are so big, and can easily injure a cat with one (playful) paw, I personally implement strict dog rules: Dear Doggie, 1. You must never enter the cat's Room. I have propped and secured that door open with a 6in long 2x4 block so they can get away from you (to their litterboxes & safe zone) at any time. You won't be able to push it open further because I looped a cord through an S-hook into a screw eye & around the doorknob to hold the door securely onto that block when you're loose in the house. 2. The cats are never to be chased. 3. Respect the cat's personal space. If it hisses, growls, or otherwise tells you to back off, do so. If a cat smacks you, leave & go lay down. 4. Humans can pet any cat at any time and you, sweet doggie, need to stay back until we're done. 5. If a treat falls near any cat, and you back off & let the cat have it, I will reward you handsomely with a 'jackpot'. ☮️😂
This is just awesome. Prince has learned so quickly to have a proper reaction. Lesson here is to have patience and have a soft introduction of cats to dogs making sure that they don't get overwhelmed...
I feel I shouldn't be based on how he's acted with smaller and/or more timid dogs but seeing how quickly he realized the need to make himself appare as friendly as possible was impressive. Even though he hasn't been around cats it took him no time to pick up the need to be careful and gentle around them. Please do share periodic updates on the kittens and Prince. I have faith the trio will become close esp with how bold the male kitten seems. He should be a good influence on his sister and help her warm up to Price faster.
Loved this! Our neighbors adopted a new, and very friendly, kitten who is obsessed with our 100lb Bernese Mountain Dog. The first meetings went a lot like this except our Berner went into full play mode at the first swat. She really thought getting smacked in the face was cat for let's play!
Prince acts like our big dog as a gentle giant with small creatures. They want to play and explore new things, but are cautiously curious. I was giggling seeing how sweet he was being towards your new kitties! Prince is the bestest boy. ❤ I appreciate you showing us what these interactions can look like, even with the most well-trained dog.
Man, this is probably one of the most interesting videos you've ever made. I hope you make more 'training' videos with Prince and your cats, because my wife has been flirting with the idea of bringing a kitten into our home, and I'm unsure how to introduce that to our 20 month old Jindo.
Good job Prince! Our female cats were always fearful/aggressive towards our dogs also, the male cats were more chill 🤷🏼♀️ Sweet to see Joel caring for and comforting the kittens, a lot of people hate cats and won’t even look at them 🙄
I have a feeling it's part of the male/female nature that is even in us humans. The female just wants to run away when threatened but males tend to be more chill and investigate till threatened.
My big female GSD took to our kittens as soon as she knew they were "our" kittens. Same with baby chicks. It's one of the cutest things ever. I love this video.❤
AWWW this is so sweet!! And we usually only see other dogs reacting to HIM in this way, so seeing Prince absolutely tripping because there is a new scent is hilarious xD "what is that? oh my god wHAT IS THAT!" I think he will be fine, though. He deals with small dogs on like a daily basis, so I´m assuming he does not have a strong prey drive. Plus the grey kitten is very chill. Perfect first cat to meet!
Great video. Unfortunately, I think Prince will get smacked and scratched by the other cat. It was great to see the one giving Prince the belly. Good luck.
I love how so many animals seem to instinctively know when they are dealing with babies, even if from another species. Prince seemed soo excited and still very good at controlling himself and stay gentle despite being so excited. Indeed, a very good boy!
i could watch their interactions all day 😄 so fascinating to watch their body language and reactions to one another. hope we get to see more videos of them!
What's going on is that it's a new environment, Prince was excited, and coming on way too strong, and too fast. We introduced our kitten to our dogs, by having them eat opposite each other with a closed door. After a couple of times, we opened the door, but continued the same feeding routine. They eventually got so used to each other, the kitten and dogs became friends.
Prince is trying so hard. In life when you have people and/or animals that try so hard....it is precious. You can always work with them and in fact it is a joy to work with them.
what a STELLAR first introduction, those three will be besties in no time. I have 2 cats (one who plays fetch!) and I hope to bring a doberman into the family in the future!
Knew Prince was a very friendly boy, but in this setting you can really see just how sweet he is, can tell he loves Joel and family very much.

BUT with KITTENS, that's much harder of course. Thanks for the video, fascinating, and beautiful home, by the way! ENJOY life with the little felines :-)
Currently going through darkness, this was pure warmth and love, I needed this, thank you
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful moment with Prince and the kittens ❤❤
Your children are very beautiful and they look very grounded.
"she's the problem, he's chilling" lmao accurate description of every male and female cat I've had
Sweetest video ever man. Not only we got to see you chilling with your family, you also included kittens
prince is such a BEAUTIFUL specimen. a gorgeous dog!
Good boy princeeeeee💙
I love the “we got to get through the smacking” line lol
Awwww so sweet! Boots is the most chill cat ive ever seen!
Beautiful! We introduced our Ragdoll cat Kiwi to our male standard poodle this way. Be very patient with dogs that have high prey drive and you’ll succeed. Our cat adores Caesar and has never hissed, nor has he ever growled at her.
prince was such a good boy, hope we get to see more of the kittens
Amazing how good dogs can be with cats in their household. I had a big male ginger who would walk around and put them all in their place, he used to walk up and they would walk away, didn’t even have to do anything. The little girl cat we have just ignores them, they might give her a sniff but she never runs, would sometimes have a play, gives them a swat if it’s too much and the dogs just give her space. She takes over their bed sometimes. Will be interesting how these two end up with Prince. Maybe the female just holding her ground and the male being friends and having a play. Have to show us how it develops. Lovely kittens.
They’re going to be a riot once they all settle in together ❤❤❤
So nice to see you in a family energy :))
Thanks alot for this beautiful moment of your family
I mean what else did we expect? Prince is a perfectly well rounded dog. Thank you for sharing! They will all be cuddling in no time.
So sweet of prince to be such a good boy with the kitties. You are so calm with him and that’s why prince is the way he is. Love it!
Very cute!
Because these dogs are so big, and can easily injure a cat with one (playful) paw, I personally implement strict dog rules:
Dear Doggie,
Thank you so much for this video! Very sweet moment
I have realised just how clever my doggie is thanks to your videos. Thank you so much for making your useful info free online
love a family with pets , teaches kids soo much , and the love soo beautiful , not easy at all but beautiful
Aww What a wholesome sweet moment prince is such a lovely dog they way he interacts with the kittens 🐱 🥰
First time i hear him vocalizing😍, such a lovely boy, the kittens can only make his experiences background richer. Good boy, great owners❤
aww I loved this video, wanna see how they come along later in life too
Prince beeing so excited and happy to meet the two kittens. Especially the male. Tks for sharing.😂
So excited for this video! My dog loves kitties. Good job sweet prince!
Loved this! Our neighbors adopted a new, and very friendly, kitten who is obsessed with our 100lb Bernese Mountain Dog. The first meetings went a lot like this except our Berner went into full play mode at the first swat. She really thought getting smacked in the face was cat for let's play!
Congrat on the new beautiful kittens into your family, as always, Prince is such a good good boy😍
Cuteness overload, and good training practices!
Prince is such a kind soul!
Man, this is probably one of the most interesting videos you've ever made. I hope you make more 'training' videos with Prince and your cats, because my wife has been flirting with the idea of bringing a kitten into our home, and I'm unsure how to introduce that to our 20 month old Jindo.
Aw, what a great dog Prince is. Loved it when he play bowed to the little boy kitten. Good boy, Prince!
Good job Prince! Our female cats were always fearful/aggressive towards our dogs also, the male cats were more chill 🤷🏼♀️
Sweet to see Joel caring for and comforting the kittens, a lot of people hate cats and won’t even look at them 🙄
I have a feeling it's part of the male/female nature that is even in us humans. The female just wants to run away when threatened but males tend to be more chill and investigate till threatened.
This is, quite possibly, the sweetest thing I've ever seen!!! Prince is just the best boy!!❤
The best boy! So happy he made friends with at least one of them! I can already see that one friendly cat playing chase with Prince!
My big female GSD took to our kittens as soon as she knew they were "our" kittens. Same with baby chicks. It's one of the cutest things ever. I love this video.❤
I could have watched more of that! Prince is so charming!!! Thanks for posting this. Please show more as Prince and the kittens adapt to each other.
Ohh, how sweet! And Prince was a perfect gentleman with those kitties as well
I love how Prince's tail wags a wiggle when Beckman says the word friend 🎉❤
AWWW this is so sweet!! And we usually only see other dogs reacting to HIM in this way, so seeing Prince absolutely tripping because there is a new scent is hilarious xD
"what is that? oh my god wHAT IS THAT!"
I think he will be fine, though.
Good luck.
Prince is so powerful and lovely.
Was smiling all the way watching this. Beautiful to watch. We need more like this please ❤❤❤
I love how so many animals seem to instinctively know when they are dealing with babies, even if from another species.
Prince seemed soo excited and still very good at controlling himself and stay gentle despite being so excited. Indeed, a very good boy!
LOVED this! So freaking cute! And, yes, Prince is a very good boy!
i could watch their interactions all day 😄 so fascinating to watch their body language and reactions to one another. hope we get to see more videos of them!
Joel, Family and Prince ...what a Team....and now more with new Kittens 🐈...and example of True Leadership!
Didn't think I could love Prince more. Thank you for sharing this sweet moment.
