    As a new drone owner I love these short instructions. Looking at long video’s is challenging on concentration and at the end you don’t know what you all saw and ‘learnt’. So please continue with this. Thank you and all good fortune for your wife, yourself and your family from Maastricht in The Netherlands.

    Please note: The settings of the RC2 controller for the DJI Mini Pro 4 does allow you to directly record the controller screen to the external micro SD card. The slot is not just a spare SD card storage slot. Thanks for the excellent videos.

    Nothing like a good short video. Thanks Russ!! The touch screen features are pretty neat. Kinda wish you could of included a hyper lapse demo of that new feature. Maybe a overlay small screen showing us what you are describing. Honestly I am still working with the Mini 2. Besides the obstacle avoidance most if not all the tracking/mapping features have been available since the M2 debut. Kind of hate using programs like Litchi yet being able to map and manipulate maps pre-launch have saved me so much time on jobs Wish the DJI fly app allowed pre mapping via pc. DJI has always made the best drones, yet their app dept lags big time.
    I do enjoy all your videos from the beginning 7ish years ago. You have helped me decide on allot of gear that helps me achieve the art I want to share. I know you do mostly review as well as tech information, yet any chance you might share some of your flights? The ambiance you created while flying the river up by Estes park, Co was outstanding . It opened up to new ideas and ambiance tricks I add to all my videos. Best wishes t your family . Have a great day!

  • @BlairAir
    @BlairAir 7 місяців тому

    Goid tips Russ, and the format works well. I would add: In Focus Track Settings, don't set "Camera Motion" to fast when you are around obstacles, treees, etc..Mini 4 is a champ in well lit environments, without snall bare twids or power lines, but the drone will fly quite agressively around, abd if your uncomfortable with near collisions (or what looks like them) you will want to avoid this setting.
    Praying for your wife, your family and you.

  • @chipfornaris
    @chipfornaris 7 місяців тому +1

    Hi Russ! Hope you and your wife are doing as well as possible. We all love what you do for us & we will keep praying😀. Was flying my Air2S out at a lakefront this afternoon but this applies to all drones that have obstacle avoidance. It was getting dark but not too much and I noticed I flew really close to a tree and the drone did not even slow. I turned it toward me and tested it and it almost ran into me. I guess the low light causes the sensors to fail and the Obstacle Avoidance was not functional ? Have you run into this as it was still enough light to see and fly.
    P.S. I was getting the low light warning intermittently…

    This came out just in time, I just received my mini 4 pro on last Monday. I’ve been struggling with image quality. It seems like I just can’t get it dialed in. Russ, I really miss the Course Lock as a stand alone feature (not combined w/ hyperlapse) on my Mini 4 Pro... got used to using it on my previous drones... I know you're going to recommend setting a Waypoint in the direction of travel, but Course Lock on it's own was simpler... point, lock, and fly freestyle. Not sure why DJI did away with it.

    • @51Drones
      @51Drones  7 місяців тому +1

      There are benefits to both. Sometimes I like the old controller, as it’s easier to unlock geo zones. But the RC2 is very convenient in other ways. Really is just a personal preference.

  • @Ashinko
    @Ashinko 7 місяців тому

  • @BlairAir

    Russ, Not true about RC-2 SDCARD. After inserting, go 2 places.
    1. Profile, , settings storage.
    2. Pull down notification shade hit Gear, scroll to Storage.
    Once added here, be sure to tap the card in notifications and select "Setup Card" - Now you can use the card, download directly to it, and cache fikes directly to it. I have a 512GB Sandisk Extreme Pro thats constantly full, and I dump to PC Storage weekly. NOW you are set!

    • @51Drones
      @51Drones  7 місяців тому +1

      But when you screen record, it still saves to the hard drive, not?

    • @BlairAir
      @BlairAir 7 місяців тому

      @@51Drones actually, yes. Screen recordings are the ONE file type that saves to "movies" on Internal storage. It's kind of redundant to copy them twice, first to SD, then to PC. Also the RC-2 often says it cannot playback some high-resolution videos, hyperlapses etc., but then plays them anyway. It's a bit buggy, for sure, but as I mentioned, it does work. Sort of, lol!
