  • Curious to know what releasing trauma from the body actually looks like? In today’s chat, you’ll hear from Kim, a student of mine who recently experienced a healing event that’s a beautiful example of organic trauma release.
    After spending 15 years (half of her life!) feeling chronically exhausted, Kim decided that enough was enough and started the 21 Day Nervous System Tune-Up course.
    Her story speaks to the power of education, following your impulses, getting into your body, and learning how to orient to the here and now. I hope it inspires you to do the same.

    Thank you both for this talk. I said aloud "that's me"..again!! I love how you spoke of staying with the sensations and allowing your body to do what it wanted. Its something special to hear our system talk to us and to honour that conversation. It's taken a long while to save 2/3 of the cost as I'm unable to work due to my health since covid, a recent diagnosis of CPTSD and menapause thrown in for good measure and with little help from the healthcare system as its literally on its knees too here in the UK, I just keep hope in my heart that I'll eventually be able to finish the saving. I have much faith in your work and it helps keep me hanging in there and cant wait to start. 🙏🌱🎆

      You can get started right now. I watched all of Irene’s videos and used her free resources. I then ordered the 21 day program. There is a lot that you can glean from what she makes available. Just start applying what you learned from the videos and you’ll be surprised. Then when you’re ready to actually get the course you will have a lot of the foundation laid.

    I had a similar experience with finding Intuitive eating shortly after learning about your work from my therapist. Each work helps the other and my somatic experience learnings immediately validated the intuitive eating principles. It definitely expanded my somatic experience work as I realized my body atunement had also been limited in my eating.

    I once suffered pernicious anemia which progressed to pernicious bc everyone treated it as innocuous. Anemia doesn't self- correct. Without sufficient red blood cells, tissues are oxygen deprived, ergo constant fatigue. In my case, the cause was identified and remedied. And I had iron infusions for 6 months. All better now, but everytime I hear someone suggest "just live with it," I feel obliged to share that iron infusions, while not fun, helped me. My daughter just had five or six rounds of iron infusions and the renewed energy she now has is a real blessing. Best wishes!

    Great talk! Thank you for sharing. I experience spontaneous shaking too.
    The 21 day nervous system tune-up is great, I highly recommend it! Still haven’t finished it but love it.
    I was wondering, Irene, if you have ever thought of doing a specific video on how money stress can affect the nervous system? Money trauma has been a big one in my life. I’d love to see examples of people who have healed from money trauma / stress issues. Maybe even testimonials of people managing money better as they start healing their nervous system. I get a feeling that’s what happens. I think it might help others too during these times of economic uncertainty. Could healing the nervous system be the key to feeling better around money?…
    Thank you for your great work Irene! You are making a big difference in this world, I really appreciate it ❤

    Ive noticed that when I do physical activities that are repetitive, like paint a deck, or go on a trail walk, thoughts surface that have an emotional context to them, out of the blue. Sometimes I cry or have a small feeling of frustration, as I carry on with the activity. I wonder if the movements are processing and releasing them without me realizing it??

      Oteese, Jen here from Team Lyon. Often when something moves through in a way that completes, we will notice that something changes, or feels different, after the feeling subsides. We tend to notice this both in the moment, and also notice things changing over time. I shared some links in a response to your other question that may offer some additional info.

    I really want to try the 21 day program as I have POTS due to repeated traumas as both a child and an adult. I’ve had a couple episodes of severe trembling either during stressful periods or after too much exercising. I’m honestly terrified of these trembling episodes as they can sometimes last for hours and outwardly appear as a seizure however I’m fully conscious and coherent. I guess I’m just wondering about the possibility of having a similar somatic reaction in response to any of the work in the course. How can we keep ourselves from being too afraid of those physical symptoms? Is this addressed in the course?

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  Рік тому +1

      KM, Jen here from Team Lyon. Your concern is understandable. Part of what you're asking about relates to learning to take things slowly and respect the pace of your unique nervous system - which you are strongly encouraged to do - and another part of this has to do with learning to be with the fear that comes up.
      Both are addressed to an extent in the 21 Day course, in some ways directly and in others indirectly. There is also a team of trained nervous system practitioners who answer questions on the course site, so you can ask for guidance along the way.

      william johns, Jen here from Team Lyon. We do find that what you describe - long-term physical symptoms and childhood trauma - are often linked. The good news is that we know how to work with early developmental trauma to create change and heal later in life (as in after childhood has passed). Irene offers many free and paid resources to teach you to be your own medicine. I'll link to a few here in case you'd like to learn more.

    I got a question on release.
    When I wake up in the morning, I often neee to shake my body. After that, I feel less tens. After some more minutes, I need to shake again and it goes on like this.
    Is my body like doing titration by itself? I have this for months and sometimes it s better, but then I am triggered and my body directly reacts with stress reactions (heart palpitations) and the shaking in the morning gets more intense. Thank you❤

    • @ritaevergreen7234
      @ritaevergreen7234 Рік тому

      Yeah they sound like released so it would be great to learn to titrate and resource so that the body can feel safe to still release more parts to it. It could be part of the sequence that varies in how long it lasts.

    Hi Irene and team!! I’ve been doing your 21 days NS reset program and something that I’m experience when I get relaxed is an involuntary movement of head and neck from Side to side.
    I was wondering if this is stress leaving the body? Is it a good sign that I’m on the right track? Thanks 🙌🤍

    • @IreneLyon

      Hi Ana. Seth here with Team Lyon. Yes, it sounds like you are starting to wake up some spontaneous movements that are likely connected to survival energy finding it's way though the system. It could be good to explore what happens if you deliberately make those movements but slow them wayyyy down, while being oriented to the environment. Also, remember that you can always ask questions like these within the course itself as well as here :)

  • @sirprize5191

    I experience the same spontaneous shaking episodes after I do body scans and creating feelings of safety. What are they if I may ask? Trauma release? Fight or flight energy release?

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  3 місяці тому

      Hello, Sophia from Team Lyon here. Thank you for your question and for sharing about what is going on for you. We don't generally assess individual symptoms because of the complex nature of this work. Irene's work helps most people heal at the nervous system level, which generally has a positive impact on the entire human system. While not specific to spontaneous shaking, here is what Irene has said about working with muscle tension (you will find the appropriate timestamp in the video description) ua-cam.com/video/2g4C0LZfA-A/v-deo.html I hope this helps offer some clarity
