  • *Please note that this is advice regarding the Premier pump gas ballast valve, not the standard pump*
I was glad to get back to freeze drying after 6 weeks downtime, as I waited for a new oil demister part.

Harvest Right's customer service and tech support leaves a fair amount to be desired. While not the worst, they are far from the best when it comes to responsiveness and common sense.
    Take care and God Bless.

Hi, I'm out doing research, and you've got me checking my pump for a clean return.
The ball valve seized on me, so in my last search for answers to resolving this, I found out that USDA only supports stainless steel for food-grade metals, not brass.
But the parts on the tubes connecting to both ends of that ball valve are brass, not stainless. So that brass is rusting.
I clean my machine EVERY use. So I was shocked to see what I found when I took the ball valve off. All that rust and gunk building up around that ball valve was nasty and has me concerned about how healthy it is when it's opened and all that gunk is pulled back into the chamber?
Have you checked that, too? I realize this video is almost a year old, but I wanted to know if you have experienced this.

Psst, you need pastry bags to fill those easier :)

I've thought that too, but I am absolutely rubbish at piping and end up losing much of the ingredients and make a big mess trying to use the bags.
