I’m with Simon on this. These clubs have 50+ professional players and know the schedule waaay in advance. It’s the managers choice, making the players play twice in 3 days, not the fixture schedule. They could have easily plan ahead and rotate. Maybe we should offer each team a choice at the beginning of the year… like a Christmas bonus… you can revive an extra £3mil in TV money or have a longer break… which ones do you think the clubs will choose???!!
Yeah some of what you said is right but it’s not that simple. And clubs do not know months in advance as all but one of the competitions they play in are knockout ones, no one can predict who is gonna play and when it will be played. And every aspect of being a player is far more intensified than it was 30 years ago. Physically, mentally, socially it’s much more difficult than it was back then even if they do get paid too much.
Spot on. If a player has played too many games and is facing burn out, its up to the manager to 'manage' and slot a squad player in. I believe the players should be protected from a manager who would expect them to play every minute of every game by making a ruling that a player 'must' be rested after their 5th consecutive game (perhaps exclude semi's, finals and last game of season).

Supply and demand. Not many people (most likely 0.0001%) can play elite level football whereas a far higher number once trained can work in the public sector. That’s an indisputable fact. There for a scarce resource like an elite level football will earn much more due to the lack of availability of people who could do his job to the same level. In addition, millions of people around the world consume football. Advertising revenue, merchandise etc. The market dictates the salaries whether you like it or not. So this is a non-argument.

I moved to Germany to become a coach and im amazed at how scientific they are with their young players on how much they are allowed to play how much they can train if they have a game with their school team they have to have 4 days in between before playing for their club.
If you look at the senior players and how injury resistant they are I believe it's down to this.
The culture in England of running players into the ground needs to go.
Exactly. At youth level, these kids are treated like horses or dogs, just run to exhaustion. It causes so many health problems later in life, compounded by the mental stresses of pressure from the professional game. Yes, they earn a lot if they make it to the top of the Prem table, but many/most don't get that far and are left with lasting physical and/or psychological damage.
These players wanna wake up and see what a job is in the real world!!! Like the NHS doing 13 hour shifts to help people for not even £30,000 a year😡
That's why they play football?
Supply and demand. Not many people (most likely 0.0001%) can play elite level football whereas a far higher number once trained can work in the public sector. That’s an indisputable fact. There for a scarce resource like an elite level football will earn much more due to the lack of availability of people who could do his job to the same level. In addition, millions of people around the world consume football. Advertising revenue, merchandise etc. The market dictates the salaries whether you like it or not. So this is a non-argument.
Well said Simon,I'm fed up of players and managers winging don't they realise how lucky they are, earning in one week as much as I'd earn in 15 years and moaning about having to go to work twice in three days just to please the people who pay their wages.i am seriously thinking of stopping attending games and moving over to watch the women's football only
They aren't lucky. They earned it with hard work.
Aw is little Jeffrey mad that other grown men are earning more than him and get to have a say in what hours they work? How about you pull yourself up by your bootstraps and work harder instead of complaining that others have more than you. Okay little snowflake?
@@russellward4624 🤣 hard work 🤣🤣🤣
Pretty sure u won't be missed
@@dannybradley8391 yea hard work. How do you think people become an elite athlete? Pray to the forewinds? If it was easy everyone would do it.
They need to button it, never mind McDonalds half of them would be sealing drugs without football, they have to collectively be the least intellectual people in society. You get the multi-millions for playing football. They might want to look at sports like Basketball were players a paid £500 a week and play 3 games a weekend most weekends!
How about the people just stop watching football & the players & managers stop getting paid? Then they can rest all they want.
The argument is about how in the last 5 years, the players havent had more than a couple months of break in total
Its funny how it's only klopp who complains about this
I heard more than only Klopp complaining. On this video alone.
City play on the 26th then the 29th so what would pep complain about?
@@joebarnes100 good job sherlock
