My dad had a white road commander with a KT 450 in 1979 cab was tiny but it sure would pull. Only downside was it made the front axle overweight unloaded.
Those KT 450 are good engines I got one in a old GMC Astro COE I always thought it was a big cam when i was young but then my father said it was a KT 450 and then it all made sense but we used that truck on the farm hauling grain to the Elevators and always wondered why it ran so much better and pulled better then the International Transstar 2
I've been coming back to see the original video for years now. I'm a farmer from Illinois, I'd love to buy this truck for my personal. Shoot me your price.
I could tell it was a california truck by the wheels base and chrome then I saw the ca number on the door does it have a pto? If it does I bet it pulled a end dump trailer
@@WeberAuto23 seriously though where do you find one? I’ve been watching AuctionTime and Ritchie bros and about anything in between for a good while now. Not a truck to be found with a kt in it
@@WeberAuto23 you won’t find that vintage of truck or motor, those KTA’s sure didn’t grow on trees, I wish they did I’d have an old Mack with one in it like a DM 800
@@justinmartin8887 brother, your searching for hens teeth as far as a KTA, I’ve looked too, nobody could afford them to start with and the ones you do find are trashed because they take a little more love than a 350-400. Good luck man, it would be a hell of a find
You don't see too many work trucks with the big old KTA's in them anymore most of them are in competition Pull trucks
Cus they don't get sh*t for fuel mileage. 3 mpg 4 if empty/ down wind and down hill... Yes they'll pass ANYTHING - BUT A DIESEL PUMP.
Damn that motor is legendary to me. Love the rig
I drove one once awesome torque I also drove a Mac V8 1005 cubic inches no turbo but it still had awesome torque

Yep you’re right. It pulled an end dump
You still have this? Want to sell?
Love the truck! What’s the writing on the doors say and where is the truck originally from?
I’m pretty sure it came from California. The writing on the door says E.G. Mees and Sons
@@WeberAuto23 I gotcha, what state are you guys located in and would you and your dad ever sell it?
We’re in Kansas and as of now I don’t think we will ever get rid of it
@@WeberAuto23 You should
I’d leave it as it is and clear coat it.
Is it for sale?
Nope not for sale
Ready to sell it to me?
Nope not yet lol!
