Bram Stoker's Dracula is a 1992 American Gothic horror film directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola, based on the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.
It stars Gary Oldman as Count Dracula, Winona Ryder as Mina Harker, Anthony Hopkins as Professor Abraham Van Helsing, Sadie Frost as Lucy and Keanu Reeves as Jonathan Harker.
This movie based on Bram Stoker's classic novel, "Bram Stoker's Dracula" tells the story of the Count's pursuit of Mina, the reincarnated embodiment of his lost love, Elisabeta whom he lost to suicide while he was off defending the cross in a great battle. Upon the discovery of her death, Dracula rejects the church and vows everlasting life and vengeance. The movie takes place in the nineteenth century beginning in London, where the count lures Jonathan Harker - the present-day fiancé of his deceased love --to his castle in Transylvania. Through the duration of the film, individuals fall victim to the undead Count and his lascivious minions as wolves, rivers of blood, and overall turmoil set up the ultimate battle between good and evil.
In 1993, the film was released on VHS and LaserDisc. The VHS release was a special box set in the shape of a coffin.
Dracula was first released to DVD in 1999 and again as a Superbit DVD in 2001. The DVD included several extra features.
A two-disc "Collector's Edition" DVD and Blu-ray was released in 2007.
In 2017, a Blu-ray remastered 4K HDR encoded version was released.

It was probably meant to be a horror film..but I find it one of the most profoundly romantic movies ever !!
Well, it's Francis Ford Coppola, everything he does is on purpose.
@@stefanobuonfino69 Absolutely !!
It's both.
Well the book is quite clearly playing with metaphors for sex so makes sense
Yes I conclude it is indeed a romantic movie about pursuance of true love no matter how long it takes
The musical score for this movie is great. Really perfect for Dracula.
Wojciech Kilar is the composer
@@Prozackeando8707 A COMPOSER. He created fascinating music for movies like The pianist or The portrait of the lady. But Dracula OST is something magical, I can feel that music pounding in my blood
@@virginiwoolf I use to listen this soundtrack while I'm reading or in the bus. Give something nostalgic feeling.
Dark and melancholic, I love it.
@@Prozackeando8707 One of the best scores of the 90s by far. Best horror score of the 20th century.
I still say to this day that Gary Oldman was robbed of an Oscar for this movie
Almost appears human ...almost..
But MAKE NO MISTAKE.....
HE MUST BE STOPPED!
Maybe his portrayal of Dracula bit off more than it can chew.
You’re right
Gary Oldman DID deserve an Oscar, since he seemed so real!
This movie is a work of art.
At a time when vampire movies were making big headway, it certainly took the legend of Dracula into new territory.
It was a very beautiful movie.
Gary gives this movie a different dimension. This is one of the most beautiful love stories ever ❤
The level of cinematography is off the charts in this movie.
Gary Oldman’s movements and physical presence in this movie- now THIS is acting.
its so insane how amazingly amazing he is
Gary Oldman's best performance, which is saying something. His struggle to suppress his predatory vampiric nature is well realized.
He knew he could force her but he loved her that much not to!! That's my favorite thing about his love for her, he didn't want to condemn her like he was. He realized that his life had been miserable without her. This is also why I love this version better than the book. Man though he could bite me a million times over and I would beg for more 😁😁
He somehow convinces you that he's a centuries old vampire in the form of a young man, just by his presence alone. He looks otherworldly.
@@Bella.216Nah, il Dracula malvagio è migliore, è Dracula, il vampiro dei vampiri
As someone who very much believes in past/parallel lives and the whole red thread thing, this movie always hit deep
It does for me too.
For mee too,i belive in past/parallel lives ! I have been crossed oceans of times to find u❤
Gary Oldman is both charming and menacing in this scene.

Dracula is an evil demon...yet his love for Elisabeta/Mina is the only piece of humanity he has. And it's a very potent part of him.
And all this drama over some asshole of a priest decided not to use tact. He could have did without saying she was damned and he'd have gotten over it in time. A lot of people's asses would be grateful for not being impaled.
@@chrismc410 lol exactly and he wasn't even right since she reincarnated, not went to hell forever
@@lavendertea4625 dude was probably the first guy to be impaled
The way this whole entire film and this scene factory reset my brain at like 12 is legendary
I was most pleased by how it differed so much from the original Dracula films with Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee.
such elegance, such romance ...beautiful.
Everything about the entire cinema scene moves me so deeply it makes me want to cry
Only movie you are literally rooting for the villain (Oldman vs. Keanu Reeves good guy) because you just want Dracula and Mina to be together again. Such a profoundly romantic movie.
In a way its so good that Keanu Reeves acted so stiff and had a poor accent. It really focused the romance onto Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder
Obviously that line had some sort of emotional resonance with Gary Oldman because he said he wanted to play this role just to say that line . " I have crossed oceans of time.... " I wonder if he is a deeply romantic person at heart who believes in soul mates .????.... There is a definite sadness about that line . It smacks of waiting and waiting and waiting, a loneliness too if you will, in the search for the other half of your very being . Hec man, what a thing for an actor to say . I think Oldman's comment says volumes about him .
Wow that’s cool info, never knew he said that!😯Thanks for sharing!
I adore Gary Oldman, but I would not imagine the need for "belief in soul mate", one can simply love crossing oceans of time ... crossing oceans of time alone, regardless for what, strikes me paralyzed
@@wadaries What you have said can also be true. However, in this particular case the character of Dracula IS in fact searching for his lost soul mate who took her own life after falsely being informed he was killed in battle. Dracula's exact words to Mina are ..."I have crossed oceans of time to find you".
The fact that Gary Oldman didn't even want to do this film, till he read that line in the movie script tells me he is in all probability a real romantic at heart, and clearly a very emotional man. That one line from the script must have hit a chord somewhere within him.
Thank you for your response.
I read that just before the oceans of time line, he says “you’re the love of my life… my life” in Romanian! I hate that’s not translated in the subtitles of the movie. ❤😕
Thank you a million times for this precious information! ❤❤
“I’ve traveled oceans of time for you!”….
Does anyone think that’s sexy, or is it just me? 🧛🏻♂️🥰
Yeah it kinda is☺️
It's much more than sexy !
my fiancé just quoted this to me as I was waking up......
"I wanted to play Dracula because I wanted to say: 'I've crossed oceans of time to find you. ' It was worth playing the role just to say that line." - Gary Oldman
My pussy hurts….. daddy!!!
The very tender music for the love scenes between Mina and Dracula is timeless thanks to Wojciech Kilar. 🌹
One of my favorite movie scenes of all time.
Gary Oldman so beautifull in 4K
The most saddest and romantic part about this scene is when he takes her back home and they stare at each other through the gate💔
Almost like they are each seeing each other through their own prison bars...
Is it a horror movie? Is it a romance? Yes.
It's a horror movie about how scary love is. Love is being known. Dracula becomes a monster to see Mina again, and when he finds her he's afraid she'll see him for what he is. Mina craves passion, but she's also afraid of it.
And this is when I fell in love with Gary Oldman
I loved this movie. It rocked.
One of my favorite movies which embodies eternal love (1992) Oscar’s Winner.
Oldman has played among other great roles a soccer hooligan, Dracula, and Churchill. Show me another with such versatility.
Love is the greatest force on earth.
I cannot express how deeply this film has affected me Its depth and passion for a particular woman that I finally met again in a previous life destined to meet The search is finally over A profounf level of romance and beautifulengagementon many exquisite levels of leaves me with dawning awareness of the limitation of words ..for ..the immortal line "I have crossed oceans of time to find You .."I can so relate to this 😢tears of Soulful joy ..never have I felt such Soulfull spell binding love every moment the Life energy coarses threw my viens the memory of her abscence from my life may fade away at times ..for to be in her presence is Life itself What a movie ! What a cast ! What a soundtrack 👌 PURE CLASS ...
Gray Oldman should have won an oscar for best actor. He's absolutely phenomenal/ fantastic actor
Eu sempre amei essa parte em que ele diz: "olhe para mim, agora."
I'd be too scared to do that!
Gary Oldman, legend.
Dracula can be most fascinating as a lonely and tragic being. Frank Langella might have sparked that somewhat with his Dracula. But Gary Oldman achieved that most profoundly and deserves great praise for it.
"Do not fear me."
-Dracula
That's easier said than done!
Only noticed when Dracula gets the newspaper he cast no reflection in the window pane
I didn't notice that, since I was too busy watching him read about the escaped white wolf on the front page of the newspaper!
I saw the movie when I was 15, the next day I stole the book from the library, I still feel good about it...
I hope you eventually returned the library book!
Am I to be without my ancient Prince forever?
I have a lot of problems with this film, but Gary is fabulous. He's so charismatic and has terrific chemistry with Winona Ryder.
Dracula scares her, Mina knows there is something wrong with him, but her soul feels Vlad's soul, which is why she feels so drawn and encouraged to be around him.
Such an underrated film
He always gets so sad at the latter part where she wants to become a vampire so she can stay forever with him. He says I love you too much.
"A prince, no less."
The way I stare in Gary while I watch the scene when he calls for her atention. I could fall in love 😂😂😂
My all time favorite love story movie
my whole heart area trembles w these scenes it’s just so powerful 🥲😶
Beautiful Mina 😍
I wish I would have never watched this movie. I saw it in the theater when it came out and it forever changed my view on relationships. From that moment on, I wanted that passion and longing. Needless to say, it hasn’t worked out lol
*Man what !!! Frfr The way he looks at her is how I want to look at the eventual wife , I want there to be a transcendent connection there. One that never fades or cracks , it breaks boundaries of time and space. No matter where she goes even into death I shall follow her*
Jopaulus i have never been loved the way he loves Mina. Not even close. The way he embraces her almost makes me cry.
Fact: The shocked expression as Mina comes around the corner and sees Dracula again was genuine. Gary held a zucchini in front of his crotch and made a sexual gesture at Winona; Francis Ford Coppola requested he do something to shock her, so he improvised. Source: IMDB.
LMAO, I'm never going to look at this scene the same way again!
Bruh wtf😂
Please do upload more scenes from the movie in 4K! I'm loving these!

Yes. Together with fear of the different.

Dracula's guide to getting women:
Step 1: Bump into her.
Step 2: Ask for directions.
Step 3: Teleport in front of her.
Step 4: Humbly apologize.
Step 5: Introduce yourself.
Step 6: Take her to the movies.
Step 7: Say something in Romanian.
Step 8: Drop a romantic line.
Step 9: Introduce her to your dog.
Step 9: Introduce her to your white wolf!
He says "Strigoi! Moroi!" to the wolf, it means literally "Ghoul! Ghost!". Strigois are ghoulish creatures from Moldovan and Romanian mythology, kinda similar to Ukrainian wurdalak/wovkulak, they are pretty much vampires and werewolves at the same time, kinda like what Dracula is. Moroi are also that but they're kinda sexier supposedly, similar to succubi/incubi/rusalka.
Interesting.... to me based on an old book that I've treasured forever, strigoi are portrayed as very large winged beasts with red eyes only able to be summoned and then in turn also banished by those who have the power to do so.. Brought from the spirit realm of the depths of hell.. in time Vlad learned the ways of all these things and much more from his gypsy witch Tzigane.
I thought wolves and vampires had a special connection with each other - whether they were enemies or not!
I tried that "see me now" thing, don't work! 🤦
Works for me in my Chrome browser
@@jeppesteen925 lmao
It works!!!
Ahh so that's where Agent Smith got that line.
Bane/Smith: Yes, that's it Mr Anderson. Look past the flesh, look through the gelatin of these dull cow eyes and see your enemy
I think you have to wear a top hat for it to work. Buy yourself a nice top hat.
"I have crossed oceans of time to find you ..." 🤦♀put a fork in me. I'm done!

A trial and tragic love story
Everyone's ignoring the fact that a true vampire does not burn in sunlight but instead walks out like the rest of man kind. The strongest of which are human during the day as their powers is limited when at night it is their true force

What was Coppola trying to signify with the coffin Mina/skeleton fade at 6:21?
It was foreshadowing that Mina would become a vampire.

Mina and Dracula's romance is a vile betrayal for both of them.
With this novel, Dracula betrayed (and not for the first time) the memory of his wife Elisabeth, whom he truly did not love. Since Dracula, instead of dying and reuniting with his wife in the next world, chose eternal life without her. And during this long life, he obviously slept with many women.
And Mina betrayed her fiancé. And the very fact of her marriage to Jonathan, with love for Dracula, is a very vile and vile act.
