I just bought my first karambit the United Cutlery Undercover, double edged and dull as hell but its a fixed blade so when i get that sharpened it will be a nice self defense carry.
+ArngrimTV it's a knife designed to "unbox" humans and shit tho, look at the blade shape, pretty bad cause You can damage the insides of the package with this curved point thingy.
Hey Jeff! I agree. I generally don't review S&W knives because they tend to fall apart, but I have owned a few over the years just for personal enjoyment and I see nothing wrong with that. Also this karambit would be good for someone who wants to see if they want to throw down a lot of coin on an Emerson. Great video buddy A+!
This is why we love you Jeff. I started out with knifs like this. When you only got a little money cuz your a kid there all cool. I still have 2 or so cuz they do have a place.
This reminded me of the net 10 wireless commercial, where the kids would talk to the parents about switching there plans, cool knife, I like S&W knives, although cheap, I have one and like it, cool video over all.
I've got some very Expensive Knifes but I still want to buy that Karambit so I can learn how to use it properly as a martial art aspect. Keep the videos coming Jeff. :D
I carried this with no issues at all for around 3 months and simply replaced it cause I like to vary it up. Centering was much better on mine, all the screws fit flush, and the edge held up only a little worse than the edges on Kershaw's budget folders or my Spyderco Tenacious.
Benchmade Griptilian, CRKT M16-14 series or 13 series as well, Kershaw Cryo, Kershaw skyline, Kershaw Needs Work, Case Trapperlock. I don't know if I could only pick one but if had to it would be either my Griptilian in orange with the 154CM blade steel, my M16-14D, or my Cryo. There are too many great knifes under $100 for me to choose just one. I cary my Cryo almost every day as a secondary blade and usually one of my griptilians or M16-14s as a primary blade.
I got one for about $13 dollars from midway usa and its lasted me almost 2 yrs now and is stil going, I haven't found much I can complain about. mine blade works great and I rarely have to sharpen it
I don't know if this is aimed at cutlerylover or general people in the comments but I will give it a go anyways lol. I would say SpyderCo Tenacious. I have handled many blades worth more money then the Tenacious which sells for around $30, but I keep coming back to this knife for every day carry. Its got a middle of the road steel that is easy to sharpen and holds a edge decently. The knifes ergonomics are comfortable as well and the knife is just easy to use. Love the hell out of it.
I bought this knife last year merely for open boxes. I knew it was not a very good knife but for the money it is a reasonable karambit to own, plus it's the only one on the market I like. E.g. Fox Karambits look good but they are way to pricey in my opinion: they cost a lot even here in Italy where they are made. S&W Karambit does "well" after a little sharpening. 2011/2012 (?) version has no grip on the spine but the blade is well centered in the handles and good teflon washers are put in.
Im from Ecuador, there is a shop in my town that is selling this exact knive in $39.20 hahahahaha. Its good to know that this man bought this knive for not even the half of price they're selling it here
I love the novelty of all knives...crappy steel or not. Although sure, as a collector and being into the knife hobby you WANT higher quality, but I love the not so high quality knives also!
I am one of those people who just like knives and buy ones that I think are cool. I try to understand what steel is best for what. Also I take the communities word for what is good steel.
According to site I got this from, it is 440C Bladesteel, dunno if that is true but that would actually be an "ok" steel for a knife in this price-category. But my guess is it is really either 420 or AUS 4 or 6.
I am not a knife guy. In have been looking into getting a fighting knife for when I can't carry a pistol. I am thinking either some sort of kerambit (preferably a folder) or the Cold Steel Spartan. Any suggestions, comments, insults?
Even with the good stuff I have I still can't resist a cheap knife every once in a while. Actually had really good luck with a couple of the Appalachian Trail knives from lowes. (Not the 20 knives for $20 ones, but the ones that are singles knives that run like $12). They're obviously not great knives but have proven quite capable and have stood up to some pretty good abuse.
Sure that knife isn't the best quality but it sure looks cool. I could have fun playing with that little guy for a while. If nothing else you could just use it to open your mail!
Hey Jeff! ive been looking into getting a Karambit for a while now and i seek your opinion. What is the best folding Karambit for around $100? Whats the best fixed blade for that price? I plan on using it for utility.
My favorite knives are the cheap ones that I can destroy with out a single bit of regret. I prefer the 30 plus dollar range though, my favorite is crkt's m16 line. I also greatly appreciate the higher end ones though that I can still trash on and hold up to it great, like a griptilian or a para 2.
I went to the gun show here and I found a extreme ops knife with a tanto blade and it said first production run and the guy was trying to charge me 55 bucks! I over payed with 20 but I wanted it so I just gave it to him haha
Oh, good to see your review! I have an original and the same cheap version as you. The original is a little bit lighter and now the blade is off the rest of its body, the original is kind weaker. LOL The generic fake version is almost the same, some grams heavier not much, and more brute. Im carrying it for months and now I cant notice the difference. Cheaper one is better quality and for your wallet.
i got one of ebay and it got through customs, have only lost a few knifes through importing them imo just dont import any with any type of button on them or any assisted knifes and they wil get through, im in aus aswell btw
I ground mines blade into a trainer and after like a few slices it got all loose and blade is off-centered, hard to close it now, still didn't fold, so frame lock is not so bad at all ;). Tried to reposition pocket clip, the screwhead is broken like its from plastic.... fear someday the screws will go flying around when waginy around with this....
For $5.50 I got a 4.5 inch karambit with a aluminum handle and the blade is German surgical steel. It works great and helped me to learn to flip it. (cut my wrist a few times though)
I don't really like the smith a Wesson knives. The only one I had broke and they all seam cheap. Why not get a good CRKT instead? That's what I always thought.
for 10 dollars great knives and iam one of that people that like knives just because they are knife i know a little bit about the steels if it is aus6-aus8 aim happy i am about to a buy a crkt m16-03z i think its pretty cool
Actually it is 100% legal. At least here in NSW. Check your laws. For me its the Prohibited Weapons Act 1998. In general: -no autos -no balisongs -no trench knives -no throwing knives -no gravity knives Although legal to own, Australia Post refuses to ship double edged knives. Ive imported many knives, including large assisted knives. If confiscated, customs will send you a note, and you can contest it. I would ask the seller to tighten the pivot slightly, however.
I assume ''FN'' stands for Factory New. Yes, it is factory new, it's fairly good quality. And the scorched look does indeed look cool. Other than that I'm pretty sure you're talking about games...
IBANEZfil lol Yes I am. I'm just being mainstream every video on UA-cam about knives has atleast one person commenting about CS or some other game. I do like this knife though but I doubt I'll be getting any soon since my parents took my butterfly knife away after I had it at work. I cut boxes and stuff and the place I work doesn't give us knives so we have to rip them open but I had my knife now I am so sad... ):
Yes! It IS okay for people to be into knives but not know much about them! They're not obligated to research them, it's fine to like them purely based on aesthetics, nostalgia, or whatever it is that leads them to appreciate knives -- & it's okay for them to not even know WHY they like the knives that they do. The snobbery we're all likely to engage in as knife people is completely supported by the manufacturers & marketers, & it's good to remember what it's all about in the first place: knives are just cool, & even old designs & technologies can be amazing.
7 years later and im still rocking my pair. i live in chicago where walking at night is sketchy.
Excellent purchase, well worth it (and it was a bargain online) and the most reliable Karambit I've found.
i love karambits ive been specialy trained to us them in many diffrent techniques and they are so fluent in the way they move
I want this knife ... Its one of the coolest knifes ive ever seen..
I just bought my first karambit the United Cutlery Undercover, double edged and dull as hell but its a fixed blade so when i get that sharpened it will be a nice self defense carry.
Was looking for a cheap folding knife used for unboxing and other utility things.. This seems to be the perfect thing! Excellent review.
Yeah... "Unboxing"
+Folwin Yeah, you know opening boxes that things you order online, comes in? :)
+ArngrimTV it's a knife designed to "unbox" humans and shit tho, look at the blade shape, pretty bad cause You can damage the insides of the package with this curved point thingy.
I just started collecting knives, I have a few cheapos, and I would LOVE to own that knife, it looks cool!
Awesome knife. Turned mine info a flipper trainer and im cery happy with it. The lock didnt fail yet no problems with it
Hey Jeff! I agree. I generally don't review S&W knives because they tend to fall apart, but I have owned a few over the years just for personal enjoyment and I see nothing wrong with that. This is why we love you Jeff. I started out with knifs like this. When you only got a little money cuz your a kid there all cool. I still have 2 or so cuz they do have a place.
I had this karambit, its a scary effective knife
We missed you.
Whatever tool steel Buck uses in their 110 folder is my favorite common use steel
I turned my SOG Sogzilla into a waveable knife like that. It came out really nice.
Gus snoring on your vid, my dog snoring behind me... It's like being in a sawmill!
I heard Gus snoring in the background and had to pull my headphones off and look at my dog lying beside me to see if it was him. LOL
great vid Jeff
is it stattrak
are you dumb
?
hahahahah guys calm down i think he joked about cs go
I know bro, i play csgo.
But yes PΔHK it is Stattrack
No, it's Field-tested and not a stattrak
I carried this with no issues at all for around 3 months and simply replaced it cause I like to vary it up. Centering was much better on mine, all the screws fit flush, and the edge held up only a little worse than the edges on Kershaw's budget folders or my Spyderco Tenacious.

That's a cool looking knife.
I have that knife. You got it for a Damn good price. I use it for box cutting a lot. Mine says first run as well. Lol I like it.
I got one for about $13 dollars from midway usa and its lasted me almost 2 yrs now and is stil going, I haven't found much I can complain about. mine blade works great and I rarely have to sharpen it

awsome knife ben looking to buy 1

Anything from the Kabar Becker line, or an ESEE. Take a look at Condor as well.
i really like this video on cheap knifes
Im from Ecuador, there is a shop in my town that is selling this exact knive in $39.20 hahahahaha. Its good to know that this man bought this knive for not even the half of price they're selling it here
you could always put an extra washer in it to help center the blade...i had to do that to my friends knife
Got the same one man!
I love the novelty of all knives...crappy steel or not. Although sure, as a collector and being into the knife hobby you WANT higher quality, but I love the not so high quality knives also!
I am one of those people who just like knives and buy ones that I think are cool. I try to understand what steel is best for what. Also I take the communities word for what is good steel.
i still loved my black kershaw leek. best knife for under 50 bucks without a doubt.
I have a Tenacious myself, it's a very good choice imho. EDC for me.
According to site I got this from, it is 440C Bladesteel, dunno if that is true but that would actually be an "ok" steel for a knife in this price-category. But my guess is it is really either 420 or AUS 4 or 6.
Smith and Wesson typically use 3cr13mov or 7cr13mov
Dustin Bell hey Dustin, that would actually still be "ok" steel for a cheap tool knife for the price.
Dante Briefs yeah it is. It takes a nice edge I have a couple knives from taylor brand knives but the quality is hit and miss with them.
I am not a knife guy. In have been looking into getting a fighting knife for when I can't carry a pistol. I am thinking either some sort of kerambit (preferably a folder) or the Cold Steel Spartan. Any suggestions, comments, insults?
Nice review, actually had one of these and it was quite useful at times. I found it funny how 8 mins in i noticed snores in the background O.o
I think its awesome. thats actually the knife i was asking if u were willing to sell on your knife collection video..

I can hear Guss snoring in the background. LOL. :D

12:14-12:16 Is there someone sleeping in the Background ? xD
Can you do a review of the Kershaw Piston 1870?
I have one and, btw, its into my pocket right now. :)
love this vid. most of my knifes ARE cheep
My favorite knives are the cheap ones that I can destroy with out a single bit of regret. I prefer the 30 plus dollar range though, my favorite is crkt's m16 line.
I also greatly appreciate the higher end ones though that I can still trash on and hold up to it great, like a griptilian or a para 2.
hey what are your thoughts about the fox karambit
I went to the gun show here and I found a extreme ops knife with a tanto blade and it said first production run and the guy was trying to charge me 55 bucks! I over payed with 20 but I wanted it so I just gave it to him haha
What do you think of Mtech knives?
Jeff isn't this the counterfeit you showed in your "counterfeit knives" video along with the fake benchmade 910 stryker?
Never understood the one handed opening law. If you're inept and aren't good with thumb-holes/studs, is it still a problem?
Nice review! IMO. If it's for defense it doesn't really matter what steel it is, as long as its sharp.
Whats the most expensive knife you've bought?
What did of loctite do you use Jeff?
Cutlerylover can you do a review on a Bowie knife
Jeff, I love your videos.
Give Gus a pet for mee :)
Cool vid
Oh, good to see your review!
I have an original and the same cheap version as you.
The original is a little bit lighter and now the blade is off the rest of its body, the original is kind weaker. LOL
The generic fake version is almost the same, some grams heavier not much, and more brute. Im carrying it for months and now I cant notice the difference.
Cheaper one is better quality and for your wallet.
u should do more cheapo knife reviews
Oh, and k-bits are 100% legal in PA.....depending on the laws of your municipality.
I'm looking for a good kinda survival knife for about 60-90$, could you recommend something?
Thank you very much!
How do you feel about Frost Cutlery? I know it is garbage but is it good garbage for the money? They are crazy reasonable
would you recommend buying a Spyderco Tenatios? (sorry if spelled wrong) for anyone to reply to
i got one of ebay and it got through customs, have only lost a few knifes through importing them imo just dont import any with any type of button on them or any assisted knifes and they wil get through, im in aus aswell btw
Hey jeff would this knife be forsale???? I cant find stuff like this in canada, let me know :)
He normally is, if you listen carefully, you can hear him in most videos!
Yes a Kbit video
karambit scorched?
Cutlerylover u should do a bailsong review
So about the sale I want to buy the side flupper
I'm so childish for laughing at that joke 9:25 HAHAHA
i will watch your vids till we both grow old or you stop
I ground mines blade into a trainer and after like a few slices it got all loose and blade is off-centered, hard to close it now, still didn't fold, so frame lock is not so bad at all ;). Tried to reposition pocket clip, the screwhead is broken like its from plastic.... fear someday the screws will go flying around when waginy around with this....
* waving with this thing
look up the history on the karambit it's cool
i found it to be very interesting
For $5.50 I got a 4.5 inch karambit with a aluminum handle and the blade is German surgical steel. It works great and helped me to learn to flip it. (cut my wrist a few times though)
Ouch!

That noise was snoring? It sounded like your phone was on the table on vibrate.
Haha. I still love the cheap knives even when I am playing with a hinderer XD...
my best friend has a high end Kershaw but he prefers his S&W work horse
for 10 dollars great knives and iam one of that people that like knives just because they are knife i know a little bit about the steels if it is aus6-aus8 aim happy i am about to a buy a crkt m16-03z i think its pretty cool
Exact question I was going to ask!!! lmao

This scorched camo is pretty cool, but is it FN, or is it MW but looks FN? What's the key B/O? I got 150k. Is it stattrak?
I assume ''FN'' stands for Factory New. Yes, it is factory new, it's fairly good quality. And the scorched look does indeed look cool. Other than that I'm pretty sure you're talking about games...

I tried to take the handle off my harbor freight machete and the screws were about as soft as balsa wood
any of these in canada?
Karambit Urban Masked?
Is this legal in Minnesota?
Nice
Yes! It IS okay for people to be into knives but not know much about them! Don't like the way it feels in my hand it's like to long, but the blade is just right. However, the way you deploy it socks also, but mangeable.
lol is Gus snoring the whole time X3
I know of a Filipino martial artists who carrys this knife he has a UA-cam channel (kallisong) not sure if I spelled that right
