Probably the only time I want to pick up a clone just cause ZT0006 is way too overpriced but I like it's design
Dude I reviewed this one and I only have the Clone and it's tied in the sheath and overall excellent knife good fit and finish $50 Amazon!
@@jerrydonquixote5927 I can't find it on Amazon. What are some words to search?
Aliexpress you can find $17 black handle/satin blade 7cr17mov (better than cpm 3v) , improvements on hilt and jimping making it more useful. Sheath on this $17 package is absolute shiet but for $17 you can't complain when the actual knife is better than original.
@@paulboyce8537 "7cr17mov (better han CPM3V)" this is a joke right or are you one of the guys in china selling them and you're trying to get another sale
@paulboyce8537 yeah dude these there's some of these knives that I like the softer steels like 440, 7cr 8cr better than some of the premium steels or D2. I just like the good heat treated softer still they can get a really nice Razors Edge and I like that. I'm pretty much sold on some of these really good budget knives I get a good feeling I'm not afraid to use them. Most of the 500.00 knives or 350.00 and up I end up selling them. Police budget knives I don't have a reason to sell I enjoy them I can use them and I'm not afraid to tear them up. I do like supporting the American companies and the other companies, but I'm certainly not against these clones either.
I saw that knife and I thought they screwed up the prices again cause, there's no way... So it's a clone! Honestly, I'd like to see you BANG on that sucker to see how well it holds up!!!
I was on the fence because I really love the design. Then I decided to get the clone as a way to decide if I want to invest that much coin into a knife. Picked it up off Amazon, and the one I got didn’t have any of the fake makers marks. Also, the sheath has no marks and no rattle, so that earned some points with me. I’m not sure if it’s D2 or D53, but it feels good in the hand and if it dies, it dies. Both are decent knife steels. For the price, it’s worth checking out.
I think the good in trouble for the markings
Real - $300
Fake - $45
I'd buy the fake all day
@@RowBærTœ I did... Lol!
@@jorgefernandez6407 so did I. Should be here mid August.
@@RowBærTœ you're gonna like that knife! It's pretty well made...
the worst thing about these clones is you cant find where to buy them. they try to sell clones as real in a lot of cases for full price.
I’d love to see a hard use test on the fake.
Check out nutnfancy "Fixed Blade Wilderness Testing: ZT 6" + Survival Saw". It looks like he reviews the clone by accident.
Bro, got one! Scary! They're getting good at cloning these knives! But you know, it's worth buying it just to trade the sheaths!!! Not gonna lie, I like it. STILL would like to see a hard use video on it! Maybe those interested (like me) should pass the hat so you don't have to fit the whole bill??? :)
I plan on doing a hard use soon. I just need to clear up my backlog first lol. And yes. Scary close
I recently bought a clone on Amazon 0006
Awesome
How has the fake holding up??
There are a few versions on AliExpress as well but I'm not sure it's the same as the one in the video. Is there a link for this one or a different name that they go by ?
ZT likes using random numbers and most of them are impossible for me to remember.
😂 right!
@@peterbiltknifeguy I have this same fake and I have some photos of one big flaw with the knife and how I repaired it. Basically the nut inside the handle is too small for the tang so it doesn't catch inside the cut out. Even with Loctite if you use it for hard use it will rattle loose and the handle will become loose. My fix was to make a custom square nut at 9.5mm tapped with a m4 thread
@@ridingincognito3300 that’s awesome.
@@peterbiltknifeguy Mind you, I knew it was a fake when I bought it from Aliexpress. I had the intention to use it without care and after that small fix it's been much better than I expected. It has gotten a super slight bend along the blade edge now after spending 5 mins hammering it through a knot in a chunk of old Ironbark wood(it's much harder than most woods you get in America) but it didn't chip and it's pretty much gone after a couple sharpens anyway.
Its a shame that ZT pricing it encouraging the sale of these fakes. I own the real ZT 0006, bought it from a pastor friend of mine for half the new price, and really pleased....if ZT sold them for half the RRP they would be a best seller
It’s a great knife
Those Chinese clones are getting better each year. Now they make Extrema ratio with DC53 which is better in my opinion than a real deal in N690.I have both real and fake and fake is a little bit better.I know it's crazy but it is what it is.
Just got the clone on AliExpress plus a ton of other clone knives from other brands 7 knifes 200 bucks hope I did well.
I don't care if i have the fake one, it doesn't bother me as long as they are useful to me. You don't need an expensive knife when going outdoors like camping, hiking or hunting you name it. Even if you have the most durable knife. if you keep abusing it, it will break. ( use it don't abuse it)
They put 000 because they think in the future they want to make 10000 model’s and yours was model 6
Love the design and look of the zt0006 and I'm not a fixed blade guy but there are way better options for the price. The knife is more look than function.
I reviewed this one and I don't have the real one, but I wanted it. Now that I've got the fake, I don't even care about the real one. It came tight in the sheath and excellent fit and finish. It is a very very good knife and I don't mean budget knife or clone. It is a good knife period! I'm thinking about buying a second one because I just like it that much I just wish I knew what kind of steel it had. I'd say it was a little hard to sharpen, but only the Belly of the blade where the steel gets a little thicker on the grind. But I mean not overly hard, I just had to remove a little more steel on that part. Thanks for the comparison!
Awesome. Yeah. The real one is almost too expensive to even use. They did a great job
yes id love to see how well the fake one holds up since some of the fake temu knives i got are actually amazing and stand right there with the real thing!
Me too. It seems well built
@@peterbiltknifeguy hell yea ive got 9 more cheap ass temu knives to test cant wait to see how much abuse they can withstand lol
"Legion Tacticool Cutlery" has a test of the copy and it is putting the knife in real abuse.
So now I gots to go do some research on DC53 Steel and see what the fuss is about. Like others here, I do want to see a side by side dual between these two. I own the ZT 006 so I want to see if my money was spent well ...... or not!
The people that bash the price of the 0006 are the same ones slobbing Vero's knob for his $300+, 3", titanium scaled fixed blade design made by Bestech.
The price of the 0006 is fine, and this is coming from someone who almost never buys production fixed blades because better customs are always available for the same (or less) money.
DC53 is pretty much just a better D2.
I have a Blackhawk dagger in D2, it's great.
Lol when you were to talking about sheath rattle you mixed em up! That's a good clone if that happens
I noticed that after 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Hey, I have that clone too (yeah I have all the existing clones...) I made a vids on it but nice to see VS original. My Chinese vendor told me it is DC53 steel and usually he is right and knows it's business, I doubt it is D2 as recently Chinese use for clones either DC53 or 9CR18MOV... So'will bet on first one but can also be the other. However both are decent steel even if I like more DC53, and I used that clone for a bit and was very satisfied how it performs and hold the edge!
Very cool! Yeah. It seems decent for a clone
@@fkr6051 DC-53 would be nice! I'll take 8 or 9 cr too... Oh wait, have that knife!
Is there a custom knife company you recommend? Cause I need to fuel my addiction but keep eating
Honestly I don’t really know anything custom knife companies lol
Great Video! Thank you for making us all aware! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
lol. Thanks
can someone post a link where you could buy the clone?
Two ZT's walk into a bar...
Any body got the link to the fake knife?
Nice video my friend! Did you happen to notice a slight weight difference between the two? The replicated version is slightly heavier than the original. It is truly a great clone; for folks that want a ZT-style blade, but don't have the means to purchase the original... although worth every penny for sure. Definitely not CPM 3V for sure... you are right on the money with D2. It seems china uses only 440C and D2 these days ... when they are not stamping CPM 3V on their D2 blades 😉 Really enjoyed the video... keep them coming 😎👍🇺🇲
I didn’t notice a huge weight difference on these two. But maybe I’m not that good lol
@@peterbiltknifeguy lol 😆... no worries brother 😎👍🇺🇲
At the end of the day that clone will fool 80% of the folks....Remember we are talking about the general public not just knife folks....Well done as sad to see though....Good and informative vid....Good stuff....
Thanks Scott. Wanna buy a ZT? 😂
Sure.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For full functional using, I highly recommend that you still pick up real one. Why? 3V performs much better than D2/DC53 on Toughness.
Why China uses D2/DC53 as main steels on making knifes? Their local customers cannot afford higher price. This also why most of knife manufactures in China will not do heat-treatment for their knives. It's another cost. Only manufactures with own brands are accountable and reliable.
You still can choice a fake copy on your needs. But maybe you find it costs more if you don't choice real one in the beginning.
i assume I can find the fake one on amazon?
@@nosrin1988 just Google fake zt0006. You’ll find it
A shame nutnfancy was fooled...good on ya for catching it.
It’s probably very easy to be fooled without something to compare it to. I know it was the knockoff within a minute of his video just by the sheath alone. I really hope he didn’t get burned and pay the full $$$ for it. I hope he sees my comment
Sweet knife for sure. The fake is pretty good all things considered. I’m not a fan of clones but they did a good job. Haha!👊🤘🤣
Lol. The did. Damn Chinese
I got an Alaska arpoon top knives fake, I tested and for 20 USD it is not Bad. In fact, it is very good
Some definitely are. My cold steel trailmaster clones are amazing
Have a bugout clone and it's fantastic
There’s fakes because there’s no reason for a knife to cost that much…
You must live in a different America than me. Because filling a grocery cart that lasts a week or a fuel tank is 150 dollars anymore. So 300 for an American made product with the best of materials doesn’t seem that far off.
@@peterbiltknifeguy agree 🍻
If you're not willing to pay $300 for it just means that you don't need that much knife. The original 3v knife is meant for hard use where equipment failure can mean the difference between life and death. 95% of people don't need that much in a knife. The real zt is meant for those who need it. If you fall into the 95% by all means get the clone and enjoy it. But if you're a soldier or a ranger up in Alaska that is out in the field for 3 weeks are you going to bet your life on a 3v $300 knife or a mystery steel $60 knife. Personally, my life is worth the $240 difference. Maybe yours isn't, that's up to you.
If you are working outdoors you’d claim the original as a tax deduction. I’ve found some ok Chinese tools sticking out of hard waste piles, so atm got no need for their clones😂
Where can i get a fake one?
Amazon
i wanna know is the steel actually what it says it is lol
nvrmind you answered that
Lol. Definitely not 3v
@@peterbiltknifeguy yea i figured most of them are using D2 or DC53 since its cheap enough for them lol they are getting way too good at cloning knives
Sometimes I think the transition of the term “D2” in China just means “Steel”... That said, I would almost bet the clone would hold a better edge...Go ahead, prove me wrong...lol
😂 I really want to test it…. Maybe I will 🤔
This will end up like your m-tech trailmaster clone. Good enough to thrash on, cheap enough not to care. Chinese crap is really starting to shine in my opinion. Dc53 smokes a lot of the American blades that are getting by on name alone (cough cough buck and gerber). I'd love to see a hard use comparison on these knives.
Hard use video is definitely coming
"Legion Tacticool Cutlery" has a test of the copy and it is putting the knife in real abuse.
@@paulboyce8537 yeah. I know. What’s your point? Because unless he’s doing the real one right next to it his test proves nothing
Take a look at the Indonesian master T KARDIN knife
Whats the clones name
I’m honestly not sure. Google zt006 clone
These larger Chinese blades are often 7cr stainless or even 5. Cheap kitchen knife steel
JUST PICK UP A SPECOPS COMBAT MASTER(SHORT).
FITS THE ZT0006 LIKE A GLOVE, HIGH QUALITY, OVERBUILT SHEATH!!!
PROBLEM SOLVED.
If the fake it's atleast d2 aint gonna complain
It’s either d2 or dc53
Good👍
Test go go~~
I’m so sad I can’t find the fake on Amazon lol
If you type in "0006 knife" it should pop up, the description will give all the specs of the real ZT, but you'll know its the fake mainly by the price (~$45) and the fact it won't say Zero Tolerance anywhere (current brand as of writing this is 'noxozoqm', that may change if it gets taken down or another company makes their own fake)
@@pab1822 What about aa good folding knife clone ? I see that seller has some also . You think they are the same quality?
What is a fake? The product is there, it's usable. When the marketing and the brand matters more, than they will keep making "fakes".
It’s a total ripoff
sheath don't matter, knife do, if the fake is good, you can just make a leather sheath for it
@@bobbywonder4574 when a knife is that expensive the sheath definitely matters
4:51 real one was on right side 😅
The kydex shieth on the Knockoff looks considerably better 😂. You can definitely see some differences in the knives. The hilt and the pommel are much beefier on the real deal, but other than that, and a very likely heat treatment and blade steel inferiority on the knockoff, you're probably getting a greater value with the knockoff, honestly. I think $600 is a bit over the top for the ZT.
The real one is 320
There are many ways to look at this.
For me, if I like this knife, want the original, then I get the original.
If the original is too expensive for me and the replica is more affordable but less quality but close enough to the same then I get the replica.
It's the same thing as generic prescription drugs.
Too many peops are prejudice at other country and only support their country, thats fine.
Me as a end user and consumer I don't care who makes them as long as I like it I'll get it.
I take pride in having a good useful knife for my needs.
I don't care where the hell it's made. Every product from every country has there good and bad qualities.
Who the hell wouldn't want the best for the least cost.
Question is do want to buy a beer from a local store for $2 or a beer from the bar for $15 !?
It's a stupid simple answer for me!
Well that tell you that the American is super over price
What is the fake called?

cpm 3v vs 7cr17mov. 7cr17mov better steel for a knife like this that is expected to take a lot of abuse. $17 vs $320. You can find an improved version from this knife with black handle and satin blade. The blade also is 35mm vs 33mm original wide. 5mm vs 4.8mm original thickness. The copy blade is wider and thicker. 7cr17mov also seems to hold to it reputation as very forgiving towards abuse. Improvements of the knife on hilt and jimping making it more useful. Better in every way and only $17. It's not even funny what a rip off ZT is. "Legion Tacticool Cutlery" has a test of the copy and it is putting the knife in real abuse. I very much doubt if you had the original take the same abuse it wouldn't survive. And yes the sheath on this $17 package is absolute shiet but for $17 you can't complain when the actual knife is good. This copy you have here is only one of many in different steels and quality. U.S made $320 I'm not saying it is no good but for that price it is a glass cabinet knife not for actual use. For $17 you can loose one at every trip and cut stones if you so wish and yet it is better knife.
@@paulboyce8537 how can you say that? Cpm3v is far tougher than 7cr17.
@@peterbiltknifeguy CPM 3V is 58/60 HRC vs 7Cr17MoV is 60 HRC after heat treat. Both good knife steels but this kind of knife you need a steel that can take a lot of abuse. 7Cr17MoV gives you that.
