If you're not willing to pay $300 for it just means that you don't need that much knife. The original 3v knife is meant for hard use where equipment failure can mean the difference between life and death. 95% of people don't need that much in a knife. The real zt is meant for those who need it. If you fall into the 95% by all means get the clone and enjoy it. So'will bet on first one but can also be the other. However both are decent steel even if I like more DC53, and I used that clone for a bit and was very satisfied how it performs and hold the edge!

@@peterbiltknifeguy Mostly D2 depends on the factory..They are also heat treated..Gone are the days of soft blades or sloppy manufacturing..I hear many European specialized heavy equipment in the last decade from factories that went bankrupt were bought by the Chinese and incorporated into their factories or even copied and improved..Junk steel is no longer prevalent as it was in the past.. Besides i have a Browning assisted folder in 3Cr13 ..Most won't even consider buying this but it has it's merits and for regular use is great .. The hype with super steels has created corporate greed and fanboys for marginal gains in performance.
I'd not promote buying/selling one either, I've been thinking after watching your video I'm definitely not buying one. There are better knives for the same price or less and not clones :)
The kydex shieth on the Knockoff looks considerably better 😂. You can definitely see some differences in the knives. The hilt and the pommel are much beefier on the real deal, but other than that, and a very likely heat treatment and blade steel inferiority on the knockoff, you're probably getting a greater value with the knockoff, honestly. I think $600 is a bit over the top for the ZT.
There are many ways to look at this. For me, if I like this knife, want the original, then I get the original. If the original is too expensive for me and the replica is more affordable but less quality but close enough to the same then I get the replica. It's the same thing as generic prescription drugs. Too many peops are prejudice at other country and only support their country, thats fine. Me as a end user and consumer I don't care who makes them as long as I like it I'll get it. I take pride in having a good useful knife for my needs. I don't care where the hell it's made. Every product from every country has there good and bad qualities. Who the hell wouldn't want the best for the least cost. Question is do want to buy a beer from a local store for $2 or a beer from the bar for $15 !? It's a stupid simple answer for me!
cpm 3v vs 7cr17mov. 7cr17mov better steel for a knife like this that is expected to take a lot of abuse. $17 vs $320. You can find an improved version from this knife with black handle and satin blade. The blade also is 35mm vs 33mm original wide. 5mm vs 4.8mm original thickness. The copy blade is wider and thicker. 7cr17mov also seems to hold to it reputation as very forgiving towards abuse. Improvements of the knife on hilt and jimping making it more useful. Better in every way and only $17. It's not even funny what a rip off ZT is. "Legion Tacticool Cutlery" has a test of the copy and it is putting the knife in real abuse. I very much doubt if you had the original take the same abuse it wouldn't survive. And yes the sheath on this $17 package is absolute shiet but for $17 you can't complain when the actual knife is good. This copy you have here is only one of many in different steels and quality. U.S made $320 I'm not saying it is no good but for that price it is a glass cabinet knife not for actual use. For $17 you can loose one at every trip and cut stones if you so wish and yet it is better knife.
@@peterbiltknifeguy CPM 3V is 58/60 HRC vs 7Cr17MoV is 60 HRC after heat treat. Both good knife steels but this kind of knife you need a steel that can take a lot of abuse. 7Cr17MoV gives you that.

@@bobbywonder4574 when a knife is that expensive the sheath definitely matters
If the fake it's atleast d2 aint gonna complain
It’s either d2 or dc53
@@theroomofhiddenpredispositions the nedfoss one is good. I have that too
4:51 real one was on right side 😅
What is a fake? The product is there, it's usable. When the marketing and the brand matters more, than they will keep making "fakes".
It’s a total ripoff
What is the fake called?

High Carbon Stainless Steel
The kydex shieth on the Knockoff looks considerably better 😂. You can definitely see some differences in the knives. The hilt and the pommel are much beefier on the real deal, but other than that, and a very likely heat treatment and blade steel inferiority on the knockoff, you're probably getting a greater value with the knockoff, honestly. I think $600 is a bit over the top for the ZT.
The real one is 320
Well that tell you that the American is super over price
I just bought one from aliexpress for 66 dolars
Climp 😂
Huh
@@peterbiltknifeguy It made me laugh when you were talking about replacing the handle bolt on the fake and misspoke and said something like climp

cpm 3v vs 7cr17mov.
@@paulboyce8537 how can you say that? Cpm3v is far tougher than 7cr17.
@@peterbiltknifeguy CPM 3V is 58/60 HRC vs 7Cr17MoV is 60 HRC after heat treat. Both good knife steels but this kind of knife you need a steel that can take a lot of abuse. 7Cr17MoV gives you that.
@@paulboyce8537 okay. You keep thinking that
