    I was an Air Guard recruiter, most satisfying enlistment I had was a kid who was determined to become a PJ. Very gratifying to see him a year later wearing the maroon beret.

    If you don't mind, could you guys speak a little to where you were at physically when you joined the air force vs where you were once you became a PJ? I ask because it sounds like some members, such as those who were redacted, didn't really plan ahead and train for years as others have. (For example, what were your PAST scores like when you first took them)

    • @OnesReady
      @OnesReady  4 роки тому +60

      I don't remember my exact scores, but the PAST standards were slightly different when I went through. If I remember correctly I was getting 13 pull-ups, 70ish push-ups, 70ish sit-ups and running the 1.5 miles in 10:15 (I was never the fastest one). For the swim...I'm clueless. I was well under time, but I don't remember what it was. I'm in a different kind of shape these days versus back then. All of my cals and running was better, but my strength was weak and I wasn't well rounded. Now however, I'm running 7:15-7:30 minute miles, 15 pull-ups, probably 70ish push-ups, and 60 sit-ups. Hope that helps. (Peaches)

    Watching y’all’s vids makes me miss the AF really bad...old AMMO troop, got out in ‘05 and kick myself every day. Went in to be a PJ in the early 90’s, went to try outs in basic on a Saturday, but eyesight prevented further progression during the flight physical. Either way I still watch the vids as they can translate to real life. Keep up the great work 👍🏼😎

    • @OnesReady
      @OnesReady  4 роки тому +12

      Probably the wrong attitude for them to have. They get that mentality from not having to work to get the numbers into the USAF like the other services. The majority of the recruiters and Special Operations Recruiters do not have that mentality though.

    • @panchovilla7580
      @panchovilla7580 4 роки тому +8

      Recruiting like frat boys is exactly why they lose a lot of talent. I went into the AF and the recruiters acted like I was a scumbag for even walking in there. Complete arrogance. Went into the Marine recruiters and they were nice, cordial and straight forward. Ended up doing 5 in Recon. Met a ton of Marines in various units with similar stories about AF recruiters. Now working on joining the Guard SF. Really respect the guys in AFSOC and pilot/air community who drop bombs for us but the Air Force as a whole has a massive arrogance issue it needs to fix in this decade or they will lose talent to Regiment, SF, NSW, etc. Wish Ones Ready was around when I was going in and maybe thing would have been differently for a lot of people.

      @@thomastucker2774 No. Your basic 'vanilla' SEAL team or SF ODA isn't even doing DA like that, most of those fools were doing VSO, FID, etc for most of the GWOT. Pure DA is the Ranger Regiment's domain...SOF TACP's from 17th STS are assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment and deploy/deployed with them attached to Ranger Platoons doing HVT night raids and movement to contacts into enemy strongholds and areas not held by conventional forces...for essentially the entire GWOT. They probably have been involved in more Direct Action consistently along with whoever gets attached to the SMUs, easily.
