Hi, What are your thoughts on the “Common” ships? Are they all provided by one manufacturer, or does each faction have types of ships that are all so similar, they are classed as “common”? To put it in car terms, does Ford supply all the common ships to each faction, or do the Robot Legions use a “Ford” sedan, made by the RL, High Elf Fleets use a “Bentley”, sedan, made by the HEF, HDF use a “Mitsubishi” sedan, made by HDF, and so on? Personally, I consider the “Common” ships to be ships unique to each faction, but all perform so similarly, that they are classed as common Small, Medium, and Large ships, and Squadrons, across the factions. I would actually prefer if the common ships were removed now that all the factions have their own books and units. Make the players strike out and trying something new, or have some kind of minor penalty for mixing a faction with common. There isn't a common faction in the other games, so I don't think there needs to be one here.

I like the common ships if you are porting over ships from other games. I've been busy making sheets for my noble armada fleets.
