- Glyn Morgan of Anglers Den Sussex and angling writer Jim Whippy talk about the correct way to use a Fish Disgorger, eg. the Gemini Disgorger.
The Disgorger is the quickest, most efficient and humane way of removing deep set hooks from a fishes mouth. Here on the South Coast we catch large numbers of Whiting throughout the Autumn, and with a disgorger, they can very easily be removed from the hook and returned if they are undersized, or retained for the pot if they are sizeable.
Also available in Glow-in-the-Dark version, great for night fishing.
A disgorger is best suited to roundfish such as Whiting, Cod, Bass, Pouting, etc.
It also works on the larger mouthed flatfish such as Plaice,Turbot and Brill, but for the smaller mouthed flatfish like Sole, Dab and Flounder, forceps are still the best method.

*These floats do what they say they do **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they come on and off easily and can be adjusted in seconds to adjust to the depth of the water you are fishing in. Used these with trout magnet lures and did really well with them in the stream!*
Finally a video showing a newbie how to use a disgorger, thank you!
How are you supposed to pull down on the line when it's down the throat ...
Thank you so much for this video. This is the best and clearest explanation for how these types of disgorgers work. A big howdy from northeast Texas.
Very useful video. Just ordered one of these recently. Shows clearly how to use a Gemini disgorger well. Many thanks Anglers Den
Great tool but use circle hooks instead to avoid the mess of hooking a fish in the throat or stomach altogether.
Thanks for this. Explains exactly how to use it. I purchased one recently but the instructions with it are not to good. I fish barbless so l expect the fish to easily drop off. Brilliant . Just a tip l tie my hook knots in such a way that if l can see the shank l know which way the bend is going so it’s easy to release the fish.
Excellent demonstration. Thanks. Is this the same for Circle hooks please.
Great content.
Wish the camera shot was much closer. Seems like a good explanation but difficult too see what’s going on.
Yeah, I got all of that, from 10 feet away.
Won't work for jig head and Ned Rig hooks if you can't grab the shank portion of the hook easily.
What if you have a bait stop bead and kmot?
Close up needed?
Will you supply binoculars so you can see in close up. Pretty useless really
Zoom in plz
Too far away to see what you are doing. Poor video.
so boring couples too much talks
