You should always have a side hustle (uber, hanging tvs/installing ring cameras, yardwork, house cleaning, etc.) In the event you get laid off, you can always turn it into a full time job while you are looking for your next job. The stress of getting laid off and then trying to find a side hustle is too much.
Sorry to hear that. I got laid off right after 911 happened .I was a food and beverage director for a well known Hotel that just got promoted. They gave me a good severance package that helped for awhile but I had to get a security job at a crappy retail place in the hood then went back to school while working and riding a electric bike and metro. It was really tough and people laughed while I rode the bike to school and work but I was stacking my cash while having roommates and trying to live beneath my means. All my friends was riding in new cars and styling new clothes but BROKE and borrowing from me while I’m on the metro with a electric bike 🤷🏾♂️😩

Moral of the story: Never GET COMFORTABLE with these jobs!! I don't care how good the pay and benefits at these corporations or government jobs NEVER GET COMFORTABLE PLAN YO EXIT FROM DAY ONE. Always have something else going on on the side. Keep resume updated and out there, keep side business. Only use job to help Launch business or pay bills . Many of these companies are DOING WELL but still laying off people. Why? To have more money to give to investors and to rehire less experienced workers for less pay. The longer you work at a spot the more dander you are in. Also add AI to it and foreign H1 B visas for FOREIGN WORKERS. ITS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. SO PREPARE. LIVE BENEATH means have savings and side hustle. Save YOURSELF.
What you can do my friend if you can find another job but don't get attached to it. Find another job temporarily and think what you like to do and start to Build a business of your own Start there...
That’s loyalty for you. I’m a retired RN and worked at a county/teaching Hospital. Spent 32 years working there, including two years in the deferred retirement option program called DROP. Fortunately , my former employer was part of the state retirement system, and I was already legally retired while working in the DROP. Had enough one day after two doctors ticked me off and I sent Starr’s been pushed out anyway, so I just simply put in my papers and retired. Received all monies due me, which includes monthly pension, sick, vacation, comp time, extended illness, and DROP money. Even called out the last two weeks, never looked back . That was almost 11 years ago .During that time interim, four former coworkers of mine have died .Two more suffered heart attacks and strikes.I’m very happy as to not end up as one of those statistics.
I was just about to say this I been on my job for 14 years. I make it a point to save something from every paycheck I always have a mindset of I could lose my job any day, but most Americans don’t think of savings for emergencies consumerism is a big problem in America especially in the blk community plus most don’t want to work more then one job either which could help them bc if you lose one job at least you have another one until you get another one my husband always works to jobs for this reason
Do not walk in the warehouse jobs. My friend Amazon UPS stay away from those places. Those are slave labor jobs. You do not want to work there and these people will definitely replace. You do not be a slave for these people I urge you. My friend start your own business if possible. But start off working fast food place. Maybe McDonald's Burger King Dunkin' Donuts worked there for a few months while you figure out what business you want to start, but I urge you start your own business. That's the way to go. And if you can downsize do that as well.
@Reemfighttv You're more than welcome. My friend. Definitely think about that. Though I think you'll be fine. Just put down size definitely down size, if possible. If you have a Van, turn it to a camp of Anderson kind and rent a small room instead, and that will help you out again a bit. And you can build out the vehicle yourself. If you don't cost that much, it's plenty of furniture and Facebook marketplace you can get for free and you can build out and turn it into a nice liquid home on wheels.
The days are saying in one job for 30 years is over. My friend. It's time for you people to wake up. Build your own value or you stay on the streets. Your choice things are getting hot out here. Build value.
Bro don't feel too bad I was laid off from my job of 18 years a week before Christmas last year I ended up taking a pay cut and lost company phone and vacation and holiday pay. None the less I can't afford bills off unemployment or waiting forever to get it so once again work is slow and I'm door dashing right now to survive til work picks up but keep your head up man think ahead but there is no loyalty at any job all of them just abuse us for chump change and that's life which sucks but it is what it is type sense.
My mom was at Sears corporate for 25 years. Dedicated her whole life to that company. Fortunately my brother and I were able to support my mother by renting out her home. It’s scary companies do not care about your circumstances. They will get rid of you like it’s nothing.
Great you got a new gig! Happened to me too. Time away from any job makes it much harder to get another. A positive attitude is everything. Next time, bail earlier while employed and you see the writing on the wall. Sad but true. Look out for yourself!
Sir, how about a lawn care service-maybe look for elderly who might need assistance? About a decade ago, my neighbor lost his job (he had to train the new guys) so that’s what he did-lawn care service. It was great-my husband & I had jobs so we hired him to cut our grass which gave us free time-neighbor helping neighbor. I was horrified when my neighbor told the story of what happened.
This is why you don't become loyal to know company. Remember the biggest problem with these corporations is like Amazon and others. You are replaceable. And AI is coming to then you are replaceable. Spell value, start your own business. My friend I got my own. That's the way to do it. Build value.
@@Reemfighttv and the ironic thing, after my boos fired me,he sent me a chrismas card inquiring how was i doing me and my family, needless to say i was in shock.
I'm almost 57yo, and I need a little over 5 years, then I'm retiring and getting off this hamster wheel of hell. The job market is extremely tough today. There's no security or loyalty or anything for employees.
Here's a fun fact we have between 14 and 15 million new residents to this country that will be competing for your job. So the turnover rate isn't really a concern for the corporation What I'm saying is competition's going to get really fierce
Treat every job as if it's a 1099 gig. This means you need to look out for yourself only and not loyalty to a business that you don't own. When you get laid off or you decide to quit and go somewhere else it's just a "business decision". Never ever get married to a business, not even one that you own but especially the one that you don't own.
That’s just life all companies do it. We just gotta have a game plan. It has our skill sets however other sources of income and income, our own bosses entrepreneurs.
Don't stress bro. I've been laid off twice right before Christmas. Both times I came back with better jobs with higher pay. Just stay focused and always be updating your resume and applying for better jobs. Even when you already have one
Good thing you saved money right? I got laid off in 2008 in the middle of the recession and it led to my retirement because I had savings, only $280k but it bought me 5 houses in the California crashed housing market, today it’s generating $9k/mo in rents and my $280k has blown up to over 3mil
A speech filled with 'you know what I mean' and a call center job? What a perfect match. You must have driven customers crazy for seven years, yet they kept you on.
Always have an exit plan whether it is voluntarily or involuntarily. i was force to leave after 12 years with my last company. They kept hinting that I was hitting the top tier wage. The last straw was when they threatened to terminate me, when I refused to get the Jab, because i was a remote worker. Thankfully, I was planning on retiring anyway.
I had a horrible 2 years from end of 2021 to late 2023 in banking compliance. Luckily i save my money. Anyone reading this please save your money and not be wasteful.
You labor served their purpose for the moment. You can bet they were planning that closure long before they told you. Industry will use and abuse you. And people ask me why I am living poor always looking for another job or hustle. Good luck my brother.
Hey man....hate to see this. Unfortunately we were told lies that the economy was great!!! I used to be a Democrat man....but I just got tired of the lies. And the economy was one of them.
I think about. It couldn't copy anyone of us. I think about it. You must think about it. That's the problem. People are complaining. It won't happen to me only someone else. This is why you build value. My friend. This is why you prep. This is why you already just in case.
There are PLENTY of workers who have this in common with you. People with 20 plus years of service are getting thrown away like an empty sandwich wrapper. Corporations like IBM, Pepsi, Cargill, UPS, Stellantis, GM, Ford, Boeing, and others are kicking workers to the curb. Understand as a worker, you are just a cog in a machine that is expendable. Profit and shareholders are the ONLY things corporations are loyal to. Not people. A large economic downturn is occurring. And it’s going to get worse. It’s going to be a rough ride for everybody regardless of where you are.
Why are you people surprised of this? Remember you are replaceable. This is why I tell people even a mile on channels to have multiple incomes. But I love you people get very comfortable. I have a good money. I'm in a good job. I've been in a 10 years that I mean, nothing. The days of staying in your job for 30 to 40 years is over. My friend always look for other incomes. Start your own business build value. As some kind, those days are the same in one place. Don't work. These companies are not loyal to no one anymore. I am not loyal to them either. You should not be loyal to them either. This is no surprise to me that they got rid of you. You should have built value. My friend. You should start the business, but you got too comfortable. That's the problem too many UP block comfortable.
i just got laid of 3rd and final time 8 yrs with a company that finally decided to shut down... kinda saw that coming for a while, file unemployment and move on, look for another position
As an employee the only thing that your company owes you is the money that you worked for and you don't owe your company anything at all. No two weeks notice, no loyalty, no nothing. In fact you shouldn't even care if your boss lives or dies. I know it sounds harsh, oh well. You don't give your soul to any company, union or any other entity. No one cares about you and you should reciprocate.
Actually, it is very believable. First, calm down. Let go. Do NOT take it personally. If you believed a job is part of your family the blame is on you. You wanted to feel safe, protected, and that only breeds complacency. Seven, Ten. Twenty. You married your job to think the years mattered. There are countless jobs available working in a call center and with experience you are a prime candidate. Get past being laid off by looking at new opportunities. This time you are far better off. No longer will you see a job as family. NOW that you realize being laid off can happen again, you will manage your money better. Stop clinging. Don't defend the fantasy of your feelings. Write a damn good resume. Get that sad drag out of your voice. Move on. Life is waiting but it will not wait long. ❤
@@ReemfighttvIt is normal and even healthy to have and express your feelings. When I think about all the good things that have come to me, it was always after something bad. Breathe.♥
Bro, I am an HR Manager. I have been laid off and I have been the hatchet man. No company/business cares about you. Your relationship is purely transactional. You show up to work and give then 8 hours. They give you a paycheck. Here's another news flash. HR works for the company not for you.
@robertswift6101 Unions are great at negotiating benefits and pay raises. They cannot protect you if you break a work rule. I work in a unionized environment and still fire people for breaking work rules. The golden rule is that people have to be treated the same. If I like employee A and dislike employee B they both get the same punishment for breaking the same rules. Plus unions have been weakened since everyone doesn't have to pay fair share anymore.
AI with chat got and kther tools is so advanced on the consumer level that these jobs are absolute already. My friend showed me . The AI can talk like a human, literally read inages and video, express emotion and have critical thinking skills at least on a junior highschool level. And this is only consumer level access, cant imagine what industrial AI can do. AI can translate multiple languages too.
@Reemfighttv your welcome. My advice also is my biggest mistake was being too picky for jobs during the two years in barely worked. I would suggest just getting anything that pays sufficient to avoid spending your savings as you dont know when the next ideal job is coming. Especially in a bad economy. I shouldn't have passed up on some of the things I did but I had assumed things were normal in my industry and I would find work quickly at the right pay and that basically never happened. I am. Not even in my industry now, get paid less but I working for 1 year now luckily. They pay allows me to save and pay all my bills, just not at the higher rate I am used to. I literally questioned my whole existence in that two years. It was brutal. But my savings and frugal life kept me as until I got this job as I am. Not getting any assistance.
@Reemfighttv yes we are like the beginning phase of terminator it's scary. Was walking with a friend last week that lives ai . He pulls out his phone and opens ai on video cam and asks it to describe everything as we walked. Well it literally described everything down to the trees, cars, what I was wearing, if I appeared shy. So can now see like a human
If you don't own your own company or business then you risk being laid off its not yours!!! Live out your own dreams or someone will hire you to help them live theirs!!!
Put yourself in a position where you could move to a new job every 3-4 years. When you chose the move on you almost always see an increase in pay. You will want to plan these moves when the job market is good. In fact, you would want to avoid the December timeframe as that is a slow hiring period. 1: If they are downsizing, the possibility exists that you could move to another one of their locations and find that location has been downsized as well. 2: Apply for unemployment benefits. Don't blow you savings. 3: Your new job is looking for your next job. 4: Many call center jobs are work-from-home jobs. You should actually have a lot of options available. 5: The job market should pick up after the first couple of weeks of the new year.
Sorry about the lay off. You can rebuild you could get retrained there are agencies that help you find jobs. Call center jobs a lot of them have high turnover.
I don't know why it takes people losing their job to realize these companies don't give a damn about the employees.

So true I’m glad you were able to land on your feet.never again I’m always going to keep a look out now every few yours appreciate you
Have faith in the Lord... Keep moving forward!
Facts forgot to keep moving for God bless
You should always have a side hustle (uber, hanging tvs/installing ring cameras, yardwork, house cleaning, etc.) In the event you get laid off, you can always turn it into a full time job while you are looking for your next job. The stress of getting laid off and then trying to find a side hustle is too much.
I'm currently experiencing it and I been looking for a job for over a year
Facts. It’s a work in progress.
I saw a charge nurse retire after serving patients for 50 years… they threw a conference room gathering and did not cater food.
Very sad😢.
The paychecks are enough recognition for me.
@@e.l.4860 I dont need no party just give me my paycheck, that company is not loyal to me and I’m not loyal to them.
That’s ridiculous and sad no consideration
I hear ya that’s smart . Delayed gratification stacking while people are spending.definitely taking a page out of that book. Appreciate you thank you
This might be somewhat lengthy but oh well. First I’ve never seen this channel, or anything. Just popped up on my feed. Now synchronistically I just spoke about this to someone yesterday on my IG. So I’ll say this. If you were fired you were supposed to be for a reason you may not understand yet(It’s spiritual). Your life is probably about to have some major shift and right now you really might be asking yourself why? Why is this happening? And I don’t have that answer but I will say your purpose is bigger than that job and deep down you know it. Keep a positive mindset, go with the flow and you got it. Sending positive energy to you King 🤴🏾💪🏾
I love this answer.
Thank you I really appreciate that and your right everything happens for a reason definitely spiritual. Gods plan take care thank you!
Good luck bro. You got this. I hope you can stay positive through all of this.
Thank you. I appreciate it

@@Gandolfspipe2667 facts only one way to go and that’s up.
I am sorry that you were laid off. A lot of customer service/ call center positions are being farmed out to other countries. Don't give up!
Appreciate it ya got to keep going that makes sense tho.
Companies put in their documents "AT WILL" about employment.
Great idea for real that’s the idea.
That was almost 11 years ago .During that
time interim, four former coworkers of mine have died .Two more suffered heart attacks and strikes.I’m very happy as to not end up as one of those statistics.
Definitely good bless you I’m glad it worked out! Glad your doing well
I mean being an employee is the easy path in short term, but the hardest in the long term
Well said
Ppl need to focus on yourself...save money and start learning how to invest so you can walk out knowing that your good 👍 ❤
I was just about to say this I been on my job for 14 years.
Yes 👍
So true! Absolutely I’m on it
Do not walk in the warehouse jobs.
Lol
Thank you appreciate the advice that’s definitely the best option to work on thank you your right
@Reemfighttv You're more than welcome.
UPS,union and pension,,cant beat it if you like to work, benefits are great
I see so many of these videos. They get laid off and complain about the company yet refuse to name the company.
still loyal and in love to the very end...
Maybe he had to sign a NDA to receive a buy out. A lot of companies force you to sign those to receive money that is owed to you.
@@rodneydofunny3129 Most NDA's are not enforceable in the workplace and is simply a scare tactic.

Facts! Your right!
Damn that’s sucks your so right. I’m glad you were able to bounce back. Theres definitely no loyalty.
My mom was at Sears corporate for 25 years. Dedicated her whole life to that company. Fortunately my brother and I were able to support my mother by renting out her home. It’s scary companies do not care about your circumstances. They will get rid of you like it’s nothing.
Your so right appreciate the comment dang that a long time for that to happen I’m glad everything worked out for you guys god bless you
everyone saw what was going to happen to sears years in advance unless you were blind,,,and retail is no place to be
Great you got a new gig! Happened to me too. Time away from any job makes it much harder to get another. A positive attitude is everything. Next time, bail earlier while employed and you see the writing on the wall. Sad but true. Look out for yourself!
Thank you appreciate the advice definitely will be more proactive next time.

I'm almost 57yo, and I need a little over 5 years, then I'm retiring and getting off this hamster wheel of hell. The job market is extremely tough today. There's no security or loyalty or anything for employees.
So true
They are also reluctant to give you a severance package"
Thank god. We have that in place. A blessing for sure!
Here's a fun fact we have between 14 and 15 million new residents to this country that will be competing for your job. So the turnover rate isn't really a concern for the corporation
What I'm saying is competition's going to get really fierce
Treat every job as if it's a 1099 gig. This means you need to look out for yourself only and not loyalty to a business that you don't own. When you get laid off or you decide to quit and go somewhere else it's just a "business decision". Never ever get married to a business, not even one that you own but especially the one that you don't own.

Good thing you saved money right? I got laid off in 2008 in the middle of the recession and it led to my retirement because I had savings, only $280k but it bought me 5 houses in the California crashed housing market, today it’s generating $9k/mo in rents and my $280k has blown up to over 3mil

Unfortunately these jobs aren’t loyal but merely a stepping stone towards something better.
Facts . That’s definitely how I’m looking at it. Appreciate you
There are PLENTY of workers who have this in common with you. It’s going to be a rough ride for everybody regardless of where you are.
good luck moving forward hope all goes well 👍
Thank you appreciate you!
Great points but yeah was thousands of people I get what you’re saying tho. Great advice thank you
Before I started my own business I had a job and always did other things on the side to make emergency money in case my job went away.

i just got laid of 3rd and final time 8 yrs with a company that finally decided to shut down... kinda saw that coming for a while, file unemployment and move on, look for another position
Facts your right.
Same here after 10yrs at pepsi not only laid off but shut the entire plant down
Yup same thing with my office. Time for better things!
Your right got to keep moving and be ready next time .

Bro, I am an HR Manager. I have been laid off and I have been the hatchet man. No company/business cares about you. Your relationship is purely transactional. You show up to work and give then 8 hours. They give you a paycheck. Here's another news flash. HR works for the company not for you.
Truth!
same here,,thats why were going union
@robertswift6101 Unions are great at negotiating benefits and pay raises. They cannot protect you if you break a work rule. I work in a unionized environment and still fire people for breaking work rules. The golden rule is that people have to be treated the same. If I like employee A and dislike employee B they both get the same punishment for breaking the same rules. Plus unions have been weakened since everyone doesn't have to pay fair share anymore.
@@KP-hi1om maybe true but if there are layoffs it goes by senoirity
AI with chat got and kther tools is so advanced on the consumer level that these jobs are absolute already. My friend showed me . The AI can talk like a human, literally read inages and video, express emotion and have critical thinking skills at least on a junior highschool level. And this is only consumer level access, cant imagine what industrial AI can do. AI can translate multiple languages too.
Yup that the next step we will be living like the movie “ I Robot”

That’s great advice def6 got a lot of that in motion,on to bigger and better things.
