  • Here I am building a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery using recycled 40Ah prismatic cells in a 4S configuration for typical 12V applications.

I would use Copper ( Maybe Brass ) Busbars not aluminium. Altho aluminum is shiny, its got a surface layer of oxide which is hard to remove and when removed forms almost immediately. This is esp an issue for high current applications such as low voltage applications.

Always great videos. I've seen someone else on UA-cam with an enormous lifepo4 battery bank and they had issues with the slight expansion and contraction of the cells - apparently they were pushing on each other during cycling and the rigid bus bars were getting stressed in a way that the terminal connectors themselves were failing - I'll try to find the exact video, but I'm curious if you've seen it and if you think it's actually an issue or not. I think they were trying to keep them in compression because they're supposed to last longer that way? The channel may have been off-grid garage
