Primal is acctually the odd one out when it comes to hunts, running basically exclusively out of the Coeurl. Every other server runs their trains out of the Faloop and Centurio hunt Discord Servers. Some Datacentres/servers also use some legacy Pre faloop discord servers for organising hunt trains, but will still relay to these major servers. Major servers in the ffxiv community often have links to other servers though. The Balance has an index of servers for practically everything, and has links to most major ffxiv servers. Theres also the FFXIVdirectory, whos entire job is to do just this.
Theres also another half to Hunts. S Ranks. Players will spend hours spawning these bosses, then relaying them to the playerbase for everyone to get.

Don't come to primal when there's an S rank up in any area then lol. Hyperion has a notorious early puller who will literally pull as soon as he gets to the hunt.
I'm sure some of you guys know, but for those who don't.... His name is Johnny Football. I dunno how many S ranks he has pulled throughout this games life span since Hunts were introduced.

We used to have a player pull this over on Chaos a few months ago, we were so used to it though that everyone just stood around and let the guy die, let the mark reset before we all proceeded to swoop in and kill it before he could come back from his return point (no one wanted to raise this person either).
Only took a little while before the player got angry enough and tried to drag the marks into the waiting players, which as most of us know is a ban-able action. I do wonder how many people reported this because the result was almost instantaneous, we never saw the guy again.

Aw that sounds fun! I dabbled in GW2 a little while ago and it seems like a great game for that, too bad I never did GW hunts
You can also join hunt Crossworld Linkshells and regular Linkshells (Regulars only work on YOUR homeworld. Crossworld is... Crossworld.)
Just shout in chat if anyone has a Crossworlds Linkshell you can join. And usually conductors or shout callers will add you to one if they have a slot open. Or they might make a slot.

Last week I was in a stormblood area gathering and this giant snake just popped up, followed by like 50 people. First hunt train I've seen since starting the game last year lol I was able to get a hit in too.
My first train sighting was very similar, very confusing and amusing 😂
Got my ullr mount in early august and haven't touched a mark since XD😂
Best bit of hunt trains this expansion was the massive memory leak from loading in that many assets that it crashes the game.
Hunt trains are a love hate relationship. It's great to quickly max out your weekly tomes and materia. However, it also kills other content.
Rather than run expert dungeons for tomes or complete hunt marks or pvp for materia it's easier to just ride trains.
All in all I love trains since it allows people with less time to participate in end game content but I wished the more fun content was just as optimal.

Bad opinion. It does not kill other content. If you like doing hunt trains and not expert roulettes, fine. Guarantee you there’s plenty of folks who hate hunt trains and would rather dungeon spam.
What you're looking for is more WORLD content like Eureka/Bozja, and it's confirmed to be coming later this expansion (hopefully next year at latest, but it could be later).
You only played 2 years, so I'm guessing you missed the active days of Bozja, and of course Eureka. I can speak more on Eureka; it was definitely similar vibes to hunt trains. Eureka and Bozja are big open world zones where players group together to kill mobs in a similar fashion to hunt trains and FATEs, with rewards like relic weapons, mounts, etc. You can still run it today, but there's probably not enough people there to make it feel like community world content. If you haven't touched it, it's worth checking out to at least IMAGINE what it would be like. Or just look at old videos of Eureka and Bozja when everyone was doing it.
Hunts are great and I agree with what was mentioned in the video, but I would never say second monitor content is the best content a game has to offer regardless of what it is. He's describing a sense of community and wanting to see more players gather around in a non-instanced area (although Eureka/Bozja are instanced, but they're big enough so it's not really noticeable). That being said, hunts are indeed good content and I appreciate the hell out of every scout, conductor and anyone who contributes to make hunt trains hapenn
2:16 "Second monitor content" is video content like UA-cam & Twitch, and NOT the actual gameplay on your "first" monitor.

@@GuardiosK "Best content" is just a matter of opinion, there's so many options. It's completely normal to say HUNTS are the "best" content in the game, especially as an overall opinion including spawning S ranks, scouting A ranks, special FATEs, etc. I would say Eureka and Bozja are better for that same style of gameplay, but I haven't run them enough. Right now I'm just doing Savage raids mostly. In the past, I ran weekly Treasure maps, PvP, Ex Trials. And I know there's also strong communities that speciailize in deep dungeon, crafting, housing, and RP. There's like 5 strong communities (with overlap) that could debate over what's "best" content, and hunts are definitely active enough that some players put ALL their focus into that. The achievements for S Ranks are so ridiculous you either have to play all day, everyday, or put all your game-time focused into hunts, greatly depending on your schedule.

Last time I did one was when maps still had 3 instances in Dawntrail. So it was jumping back and forth to get all bosses x3. Certainly engaging albeit sadly my pc already starting to lag behind. Good way to cap tomstones too.
Thought I prefer solo content more I definitely see the appeal of such nice and regular community events.
Afaik dawntrail zones stil have those instances, it's definitely a bit much to keep up with! But on the flipside you can earn 3x the rewards 🤘
