    You can mill 2mm grooves on the joint surface of the aluminum alloy box. When the two cabinets are assembled, the sealant has better isolation of lubricant leakage。

      The oil does not leak from the join between the box halves. It comes from the 2 input and output shaft seals. The seal is only available with a single lip to seal against the rotating shaft.. I've tried 3 different sizes so far, 50mm [standard size and the size of the shaft], I've tried 49mm and 48mm diameter seals, it still leaks! 47mm is my last attempt as soon as I get chance.

      This may be caused by high temperatures. You can cut a groove on the shaft to assemble a seal ring, and then put a bearing on it.
      Or apply sealant to the edge of the oil seal. Hope my suggestions can help you

      @@user-st7dh2qy1n I've modified the box again since this video and added a digital temperature guage to it. Using an adapter fitted to the top oil filling hole I can screw in a temperature sensor to the adapter. So far in the summer I've not had more than 60°c which is comforting to know temperature isnt causing much concern. I'm pretty sure it is the seals leaking where it touches the rotating shaft.. A twin lip seal would help maybe a snug bit tighter also. I've tried sealer on the outer edges of the seal to the recess where it pushes in... Still leaks... Grrrrrr. Its awkward to gain access to which isn't helpful either.. The joys of cars!
      Currently repainting the car which is taking my time and adding a HEATER Yea!

    I was looking for this reverse transmission. You did a great job and it was very valuable. But I have suggestions to tell you. 1: It is best to replace the chain of the power output shaft with a gear. The high-speed running chain has a large centrifugal force and is worried about damaging the box. Also, you did not design the tensioner. 2: You can replace the pick with a fork so you don't have to worry about the control axis shifting.

      I think the easiest way forward is to replace the whole reverse box with an electric reverse set up.. Should gain about 10% more power at the wheels and cure leaking oil along with excessive transmission slack

      @@terrybrown6057 Good idea and same idea with me. I planned 18v lithium battery pack 48v for hybrid transmission. Of course, I can only use RC model brushless motor. Can reverse gears to increase power. Better than turbocharged

      This is just my plan. Not implemented yet, I am working on the drawings and designing the suspension. locost super seven. The motor will be mounted next to the engine output shaft cnc an aluminum alloy bracket. Because there is enough space in this position , there is no need to find the motor position between the rear differential or the drive shaft. Can i add your facebook

      @@user-st7dh2qy1n sounds like a good plan! Hope it goes well... Some days will be hard, don't give up... Just put stuff down, walk away and have a think for 24hrs.. A solution will come to you. I'm interested to see how it turns out.. 👍 I work for Nissan at Sunderland making Leaf, Qashqai and Juke. We have all sorts of hybrid cars coming through soon which is interesting to see how they design them.. Your design process will work better using a collective brain... IE a forum with similar interests. Put your ideas and designs there, it's surprising what simple things you do can be improved on. Have you had any trouble with mounts? I've read stories of people ripping them off and destroying their props. I have a Nova reverse box which is similar to yours but has different mounting points, I have a guy coming round to give me a quote on welding a Base and top plate and some brackets to hold it in place. I can do it myself but the thickest I can weld with my welder is 3mm at 90amp max, and I don't think thats thick enough. Have you got any suggestions for me.

    nice video .. how do u find the reverse box ? is it worth keeping ?

      I've now put it all back together again and it works well, but.... The brand new oil seals both leaked straight away. I'm on the search for seals with a slightly smaller internal diameter than standard ones. Or failing that I can get 2 new prop adapters made with the diameter bigger to close up the slack fit. This seems to be the est option if the seals are not available.. But it's good now.. The leaking oil at least has saved me dealing with rust.. 👍

      @@terrybrown6057 Hi Terry did you get it sealed ?

    • @terrybrown6057
      @terrybrown6057  2 роки тому +1

      @@harrismagnum04 no, in short I've worked out why it does it. There's not a lot of oil in the box, this generates heat within the oil. The oil gives off gases which cause pressure, this blows oil out of anyway it can go.
      By adding more oil for example an oil cooler via a pump I'm sure it would cure it. But.. I'm giving up with it... Going to put an electric reverse kit in. This will be work I've got to manufacture but in the end it'll be the way forward.
