  • This time I trusted the math using a personally developed ballistic calculator I sighted in my new bow and sight at a 15 yard range. After finding the correct sight tape we went to a large range outside to test it. Turns out the math was right. This has been the easiest bow sight in I have ever done.
    Best sight tapes. Easy sight tapes.

      How’d I do bare shaft flying true?

    • @TheBladeSled
      @TheBladeSled 5 місяців тому +1

      @@Lucas_Palmer_bownerd_engineerI’m not asking that but I will answer it, normal tuning with rest and anchor point and properly spined arrow. Bare shaft tuning is just like paper tuning but more definitive. It’s easy to see if bare shaft is pointing in same direction as fletched shafts. Get that correct at 20 yds or farther and you will know your bow is well tuned for those arrows.

    How do I get my hands on this ballistic calculator? No, I don’t mind walking back and forth 60yds while sighting in my bow but for quickness I much rather walk the 15yds and get the same results.

    Does your ballistic calculator have aerodynamic drag included?

    • @Lucas_Palmer_bownerd_engineer
      @Lucas_Palmer_bownerd_engineer  5 місяців тому

      Yes, I’ve incorporated drag, vane geometry and fletch angle and drag, all shaft geometry, you can also account for shaft flex if you are shooting trad, or a weaker spine shaft out of a compound. I’ll do a complete video on in soon.

    Interesting. What ballistic calculator did you use. I wpuld like to experiment with that.

      Thanks for the comment, so I used a Ballistic program I am currently building for archery. Video link below explaining some of the features the calculator will have.
      ua-cam.com/video/BqrcrxhJqDc/v-deo.html
      However this calculator mimkr.bplaced.net/bc/ will provide some approximate numbers if you want to play around with it.
      You can't change as many variables on this calculator so it's less accurate and it is based on an a different approximation approach. Mine is an integral solver of the drag formula.
      Any further questions I would be happy to help.
      Take care,
      Lucas
