Yes indeed. Contrary to what some haters out there let on, Ritchie presented some really nice chops and most of the time the band and him were smoking. Sure enough, some songs didn't quite make the grade (Spotlight Kid - Ritchie rusty; Perfect Strangers - a little lacklustre, Romero a little flat; Burn - started really well and Ritchie kicked ass but then halfway thru I think his fingers got tired and sticky - might be the reason why there were no encores) but then again the absolute highlights were mind-blowing. Slower tempo and all that jazz, who cares? You don't need to speed to make an impression. It's what you say, not how fast you're yapping.

This is first time i saw this and this made me smile, not 'cause it was bad but it was quite good. Try to make such a long career and try to play like 40 years ago. Not going to happen! Thumbs up!
I saw Rainbow in Munich last night. Ritchie was really in a good mood and into it. Great show. He definitely either fired his sound guy or got a second opinion. His tone was great. He also practiced and worked out some baselines for his solos. Some classic Ritchie emerged. By the way.....Jimmy Page was sloppy as fuck in his prime. What do you think he sounds like now. Who the fuck knows.
I read and saw some videos and everyone seems to agree that he upped his game for the Munich concert. I think if he went througha regime to get back his mojo, he'd still have it, but since he plays 5 Rainbow shows a year, maybe he doesn't care much?
Jimmy Page tarnished his reputation by going sky high on heroin on stage. Whole he was never a super clean player much of his reputation stems from these incidents where he couldn't find a single note. Richie was never that guy and it hurts to see him damage his image buy doing these shows. He almost stopped playing during the Burn riff. It's just embarrassing. I don't want to see my hero this way.
Wow...just painful. I just listened to my Difficult to Cure CD recently too and this sounds like half speed. Not saying that it was all bad but it wasn't great either. One just is amazed he didn't grab Joe Lynn Turner for this. Why go with these unknowns? Some bands know when it's over. Rush for example bowed out before it got sad. Ritchie's ex-bandmates in Purple are set on retiring after this next tour as well. He should take a cue from them. The reunion we all wanted years ago ain't happening and Jon's dead so, ya know..."it's over Johnny".
age can not be an excuse, dozens of guitarists his age are shredding everywhere. RB looks kinda bored or sedated and pushed the breakes in the songs. Agree this is a show to forget. But the upload is top, thanks for the effort.
@Lazaro Millares I think it's the arthritis more than age. Billy Gibbons, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy can still get the job done, but I don't think any of them have any serious issues with arthritis.
@@kissarmy305 Yeah, Mick Box is one hard driving guitarist. I always liked the Uriah Heep songs that had Ken Hensley on lead guitar and Mick Box just slamming the power chords.
All I have to say is " without DIO Rainbow is just a shadow" Listen to stargazer sung by Ronnie or Gates of babylon or man on a silver mountain . DIO was the power.
Right? There's a reason why Dio is considered the most best vocalist in heavy metal, this singer is good though... But Dio isn't only the the original vocalist, not o only the best by far, he's the main composer of the best songs that rainbow have... Nothing extraordinary came out of rainbow without Dio composing his fantasy songs... Stargazer, Gates of Babylon, Light in the Black etc...
It isn't great, but it is pretty good, considering. Twenty-plus years of rarely playing the Strat. He does have some arthritis setting in and he has had some finger problems in the past, if I'm not mistaken. A lot of the older players mentioned here have never stopped playing the electric guitar so they haven't lost much of that strength and dexterity in their hands over the years. Age and attrition is different for everyone. Blackers may have lost some over the years, but it is still nice to see him get out and play while he still can.

Thanks for uploading this. I'm a big Blackmore fan, but he seems really like he has no desire to be there. Also about half the time it sounds like the volume control on his guitar isn't on very much and the front of house mixer is trying to compensate.
Where's the fire ritchie? :the people laughed,&they said(fingers) burn! Yes I know, he's73! (still love him though) most of the others, plus, more, all sound the same. Trevor flarty
This is not bad in and of itself. Problem is we remember when Ritchie was a raving ball of fire onstage. A streaming comet blazing across the sky. Literally setting the stage on fire. We watch him now in that context and are disappointed because he doesn’t play that way anymore. Well he’s well over 70 and feeling the effects of age. Cut Ritchie some slack and be happy you still get a chance to hear him play the old songs.
How good Ritchie is, even at 73!!! For me, despite the different world ratings, Ritchie Blackmore's guitarist is No. 1! After all, no one has ever counted or taken into account how many musicians he discovered or how many stars grew up with him! And I mean all areas of activity, these are soloists, bass guitarists, keyboardists! The latest example of this is the magnificent soloist Ronnie Romero! It is clear that Ritchie missed rock, he still lights up, there is a lot of improvisation and changes in his game and they are all successful, interesting, great! I was very pleased with the acoustic guitar playing in the song Soldier of Fortune! Bravo maestro, I really want to continue listening and seeing you!
@@laurenzgraffilpenstein8117 Ritchies Improvisations only worked occasionally live. The 1977 Live in Munich was one of those times. He played very basic chords here with a fabulous tone. Not trying to be godlike As I have seen him do so many times previously. He was always much too self-indulgent and had a tendency to get off into the weeds with monster narcissistic solos that were painful to listen to. I like the way he seemed to be just another part of the band. Like he was in DP before his ego got out of control. He didn't sound like this 2 years previously. He sucked in 2016 .

Awesome!
Great job Bimbomable. GOD bless

“Long gone Rock n’ Roll”
Child in time was totally aweful! No one but Ian Gillan will ever own that song!

@@garyp6816 WOW !!!!! 👍👍
Richie is the greatest guitarists ever! In my opinion 😁
Che uomo straordinario una vera leggenda.
I still think Ritchie was the best!
36:00 - My Woman From Tokyo
Ritche's lost a few steps but this is still better than practically everything out there.
Some were over 🎉the rain bow you will found
Blackmore playing guitar ❤😂🎉😢😮
Some were over the ran bow you will find Richie Blackmore ❤❤❤
age can not be an excuse, dozens of guitarists his age are shredding everywhere. RB looks kinda bored or sedated and pushed the breakes in the songs. Agree this is a show to forget. But the upload is top, thanks for the effort.
Lacklusture for sure. Cozy Powell electrified the band and you can tell the difference between the first album and Rising and Long Live RnR
Absolute garbage comment, tell us the names of the referenced 73 year olds shredding everywhere.
@Lazaro Millares I think it's the arthritis more than age. Billy Gibbons, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy can still get the job done, but I don't think any of them have any serious issues with arthritis.
@@EvilEyeGypsy Don't forget Mick Box from Uriah Heep, still a beast and around the same age as Blackmore, a year younger i think.
@@kissarmy305 Yeah, Mick Box is one hard driving guitarist. I always liked the Uriah Heep songs that had Ken Hensley on lead guitar and Mick Box just slamming the power chords.
DIO RIP
All I have to say is " without DIO Rainbow is just a shadow" Listen to stargazer sung by Ronnie or Gates of babylon or man on a silver mountain . DIO was the power.
Right? There's a reason why Dio is considered the most best vocalist in heavy metal, this singer is good though... But Dio isn't only the the original vocalist, not o only the best by far, he's the main composer of the best songs that rainbow have... Nothing extraordinary came out of rainbow without Dio composing his fantasy songs... Stargazer, Gates of Babylon, Light in the Black etc...
David Coverdale would be the right man.
@@TruthandjusticeXXL Ian Gillian was the man but to many igos got in the way! Man that dude could scream!!!!!
I learned the hard way that sometimes its best never to see your favourite bands live.
just change the speed to 1,25 and you are all set
super concert ! The best !!
Great post, thank's kind one,s Much love....
The rock just keeps on rocking.
Ritchie Guitar God Blackmore
It isn't great, but it is pretty good, considering. Twenty-plus years of rarely playing the Strat. He does have some arthritis setting in and he has had some finger problems in the past, if I'm not mistaken. A lot of the older players mentioned here have never stopped playing the electric guitar so they haven't lost much of that strength and dexterity in their hands over the years. Age and attrition is different for everyone. Blackers may have lost some over the years, but it is still nice to see him get out and play while he still can.
It's time to stop. This was embarrassing he stopped playing several times because he was lost. Time to retire.
@Bimbomable - Excellent job in Capturing this in great quality mate - The Zoom H1 is an awesome bit of kit. Well done on the Post Edit and Thank you for uploading this, Its a little Jem and Ive bookmarked it and subbed your Chan.

Thanks for the positive feedback. Makes it all worthwhile.
@@Bimbomable For sure my friend, Keep up the great work :)
@@Top-Jimmy Yup that's the goal. Quite a few projects awaiting completion and more to come.
YES ! ONE ! .😀
Ritchie Blackmore forever one again and again salutations distinguées a toutes et à tous ❤❤😊😊
The point is that we don’t want to hear the songs in this way.
My god...SMH
Ritchie is playing better than I have ever seen him. Incredible.
Brave man

Ritchies Improvisations only worked occasionally live.
I am the biggest Blackmore fan. Do yourself a favor, speed the video up to 1.25. you're welcome
I'm a singer myself. To walk out on stage and see Ritchie Blackmore on my left...I'd shit my pants.
