An on set armor is the only one aloud to check the gun if it's loaded on set. The actors are only a loud to do what was scripted for that day.
@@jamesfarmer1523 If you had taken gun safety training you would know it is the person holding the weapon who is ultimately responsible. Do not point at anything you don't want to shoot. Do not accept that weapon is not loaded, always check for yourself.
What others did is accounted. Baldwin had EVERY RESPONSIBILITY once that gun was in his hand. He is responsible for not checking the gun himself, for pointing it at anyone, cocked or NOT.
i think that the much more important issue is his responsibility or lack of it at the other end - hiring a woman with blue hair who was obviously not competent to do the job that she was doing..

I've been thinking about this the past couple days my dad was a gun guy my friends are gun guys I used to have a gun. I was taught this you never point a gun at anybody whether its blanks or not to shoot!. Pointing the gun and pulling a trigger at somebody it's called manslaughter. Because you can't take the chance of what might be in that chamber.
I don't think anyone accept his attorney is standing behind Alec Baldwin on this one.

Not an accident. He did not do his job. His employees were using that same LOADED gun for target practice. He had a responsibility to check that the gun was empty BEFORE he shot it.
It's not about it being EMPTY or LOADED. It's about how a live round got in it, how did it get ON the set?? In the gun? Past the armorchecker?
All valid questions. How about NOT having a real gun on set at all. It was his responsibility to make sure everything was being done correctly. In an effort to save money and by not owning up to his responsibility, one young person just starting her life is dead and another was shot. He is a second rate actor and a lousy human being and needs to be held accountable.

It was not a prop gun. It’s a real gun that was supposed loaded with blanks. It was also his responsibility to verify only blanks were loaded. I do think a prop gun should always be used. The use of a real gun is used as it has a more realistic look when fired. I’m sure a prop gun can be manufactured the won’t allow a real round be load.

I can’t believe the comments I see. How’s that he is guilty? His job is to act, not to arrange the scene. There are several dozens of people that work on set, everyone is responsible for their own task. His task is to act. The woman who provided the gun on set is solely responsible for what happened.
