Honestly, I think Palpatine was surprised by the Jedi Temple bombing. It was one of the few events of the Clone Wars that wasn't directly influenced by him. This still worked to his advantage however as Barris became the defacto face of how the Jedi have fallen. We see in the arc that public resentment against the war and more specifically the Jedi's role in it started to become common after the bombing. I bet the citizens of the Republic were not specifically shocked about Order 66 since the Jedi proved themselves to be dangerous to other people. In the words of Palpatine "A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one".
@@theevildrummingsithlord1492 I think that puts a bit *too* many events into Palpatine's hands. Barriss saw the corruption of the Jedi, which was Palpatine's doing, but he didn't directly manipulate her.
@@theevildrummingsithlord1492 It also feels a bit well.... too easy. Barriss was someone entirely broken by the war she fought and tried to remedy that with horrible methods. To me, it seems like she is just a child soldier who became a victim of war. It makes what she did less impactful if Palpatine was actually responsible for it. I'd much rather have her be a perfect example of how war makes the Jedi break from within. Erosion of the spirit if you will, as a lovely assassin droid once put it.
I've actually thought about this before. The Ahsoka trial had no strategic advantage to Sidious. The only benefit for him was that it disparaged the Jedi order to the public and to Anakin. Otherwise, it caused more problems than it solved for him.
Great point Patrick. I think there is where Sidious was after five years. It had some short term benefits, but long-term, it opened up a pretty big can of worms wherein Tarkin could have easily been killed by Vader if not for the direct intervention of Sidious numerous times.
The rift between Tarkin happened in Vader's early years when he was still adjusting to his role as a Sith. The Vader that faced Ahsoka was older and already grew into the role completely.
And he still hesitated before he said then you will die. See, when I said I wouldn’t leave him his eye went to the ground like he was seriously contemplating my offer
@Andy Delgado There were other ways he was enacting to discredit the order and cause the tension between Anakin and the jedi to boil, the trail he realized in retrospect was an unnecessary move in an already mountainous PR effort against the order that amounted to just a small drop in the bucket...but carried lingering personal cost to key players.
I'm not saying this is the case but, what if the whole farce of, Ahsoka Tano being on trial was out of a concern by Darth Sidious that if Ashoka remained, it might draw Anakin or, more rather keep Anakin from falling to the dark side at the time frame Darth Sidious had set.
I wonder if after the Death Star’s destruction, Vader at first was like “Awwww, crap. The old scrotum face is going to kill me.”, remembered Tarkin was still on board then thought “Weeeeeeell. He did prosecute my old padawan for a crime she didn’t commit so... best to look at the positives of a bad situation.”
I can just picture Vader singing in that mechanical voice of his as he's flying away from the Death Star's wreckage " always look on the bright side of life".
I say the Jedi really let Ahsoka down and betrayed her. I dont blame her for leaving. They were her family, the only family she ever knew and they turned their backs on her with such circumstantial "evidence" and worse cast her out then turned her over to the Republic forces knowing she could be executed. It disgusted me seeing that. And I don't just say all this being a huge Ahsoka fan-girl but genuinely disgusted with the Jedi order in how Ahsoka was treated. That story arc is so painful to watch I kan only imagine how hard it would be for her to live it. 😢
The Jedi Order of the Rise of the Empire era disgusts me. The Jedi Order of The Old Republic would reprimand them so hard for the B.S. they let the government and criminals of the galaxy get away with !
the Jedi where Grade A hypocrites infact they were the definition of Hypocrisy they did not preach what they practiced and even then they actively bent the rules of their own philosophy and loopholed around it to benefit themselves. "Jedi are not allowed Attachments such as Familiar or romantic bonds" yet Ki-Adi-Mundi had several Wives (i do not give a shit if it was exceptional circumstances to save his near extinct species hypocrisy is still hypocrisy and he should have been expelled or discharged from the Jedi order in order to pursue a mating crisis) "Jedi are allowed to have feelings yet are not allowed to act on them" what this fuck does this even mean if you our allowed to have attachments yet cannot act on them then you are preaching that you are not allowed to decipher right from wrong and this only makes matters worse. "we are keepers of the peace not soldiers" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH FUCKING LIARS!!! if you where "keepers of the peace" then you wouldn't be actively war mongering and fighting around the galaxy and choosing sides between the GR and the CIS. Mace windu preaches that you should never strike down an unarmed opponent in anger yet goes to do so against Sidious HYPOCRITE!!!!!!. the Jedi order in it's entirety screams Hypocrisy and broken Philosophy and ideology. this is where the Sith Vastly outmatch them in terms of philosophy because the Sith teachings pretty much tell you do do whatever you want as long as it's in the pursuit of power and order. the sith order welcomes and promote hypocrisy which in turn ironically makes it not hypocritical.
I know, right? The story arc is too painful for me to watch. Seeing Ahsoka get betrayed by the only family she's ever known and unfairly blamed for crimes she didn't commit PLUS most of the Jedi who "apologized" to her did it half assed and Windu didn't even apologize at all! All this made her doubt herself PLUS it set Anakin farther down the path of the Dark Side and since Ahsoka left, she wasn't around to keep Anakin from becoming a Sith. All of this shows how corrupt, hypocritical and cowardly the Jedi Order had become not to mention proved how stupid they were. They were as much to blame for their own demise as Palpatine was in my opinion and were in deep decline well before he was born.
@@michaelkean5969 Ki-Adi-Mundi is an exception, but in the old republic Jedi were allowed romantic involvement, but only under supervision, and only for jedi of certain specific circumstance. like you had to be living on temple grounds, you had to have been basically raised a jedi, etc. so it was an Old Republic era 'rule' basically that they invoked for him given the potential extinction of his speicies. Jedi are allowed to feel things like love, or hate, or rage or fear. they can't act on them, becuase the have to be strictly emotionally controlled. becuase the Force is fickle, and actions can push you to places in the force you don't want to go. (or not advisable to go) there's a was quote from Spawn I think that applies here: Love is Hell's Trump Card. people will do horrible things to protect what they love, without regard for consequence. it's even shown in the clone wars several times. Anakin's use for Force Choke is almost always in response to protecting Ahsoka or Padme, and his fall in the movies, and the one time he falls on Mortis is for the protection of Padme/Ahsoka even Obi-wan when the Brother basically forces him to see what he'll become. the Jedi weren't actively warmongering. they were basically put in the positions of Generals by Palpatine. they wanted to win the war as fast as possible. again in the clone wars, several times they try to negotiate between the CIS and the GR...usually with Palpatine/Dooku mucking it up and ruining the chances. Sidious was NEVER an unarmed opponent in my estimation. even without his lightsaber, he had a plethora of Force powers at his disposal. Mace also realized that taking him in alive was pointless, because he owned the senate (thank to his emergency powers) and the judicary (again, thanks to his emergency powers) so it wasn't like he coudl be put on trail or locked up. the Jedi wasn't Corrupt, as much as Sidious rendered it impotent to stop him. he used the darkside to cloud thier precognition, he made sure they were all in leadership positions in a war he purposefully was drawing out, as he was running both sides. people that normally would be protected, had to go without, people like Barress saw being leaders in the war as a corruption of their ideals. he stretched them so thin they coudln't do thier primary job, and made sure the job they had in the clone wars never seemed to go anywhere, despite how powerful a jedi can be, so it would APPEAR like they were 'warmongering' to the general populace. the Jedi philosophy is mostly about inner peace and self control, adn using the Force as an ally, rather then just a tool. the Sith is all about power and killing anyone that is a rival or superior to attain it. the Force isn't your ally, it is your tool, a weapon in your hands no different then your lightsaber.
Man can you just imagine if at the end of Star Wars Rebels season 2 if Ahsoka had opted to accept Vader's offer to defect? How awkward it would be between her, Tarkin, Vader and Sidious? Sheesh!
@@mouseprotector5081 No she would have been the grand inquisitor. Sidious wanted force sensitive children so he could have his own little army of force wielders
Aye, he truly underestimated Anakin's need for a family and love. And Ahsoka was the sister he never had, in bonding and love. Same with Kenobi being like a brother to him, only Kenobi did him dirty so...hatred
@@jakealter5504 not really regret, but disappointment. He had no real plans to replace Maul, but with his percieved death and the Jedi's Chosen One being found, he became invested in Anakin.
Well, separating Anakin and Ahsoka surely helped to make it easier to control Anakin come episode 3. He wasn't able to go talk to Snips about any of his problems. He didn't have her to motivate him to try to be more mature and more of a leader. More and more his feelings clouded his judgement and he didn't have the pressure to always act with the confidence that he had to have around her. She slipped out from under Anakin, building his distrust in the Jedi and enabling him to become confused, irresponsible, and clouded without her. Not saying he was the pinnacle of maturity with her, but there was trust and support there and a motivation for him to never be weak in front of her, as he was in episode 3. I would love to see some alternative timelines for Star Wars that focused on what if stories where certain events changed, such as Ahsoka never leaving Anakin
@@crimson5364 And it wasn't just Ahsoka. Kenobi was also more and more away on missions, while Anakin had sent Rex and his clone troops to aid Ahsoka. And this just left Anakin with Palpatine.
@@rosesweetcharlotte kenobi was never really that big of a factor tbh,he even 'died' in TCW and it wasnt so catastrophic, sure they were really close but not on the deep level that anakin required.Thats why a lot of people also think that if Qui Gon was Anakin's teacher, history would have turned different as well.
@@crimson5364 And Anakin went for years without Ahsoka. It wasn't just that she wasn't there, it wasn't even just Padme, it was that Anakin for years had just had no one to talk to. And as great as Ahsoka was, would he have felt comfortable expressing those fears to her?
@@crimson5364, when kenobi 'died', anakin almost goes on a killing spree, and then when he found out that he was actually alive, that made him hate the jedi order. That was probably one of the biggest reasons, along with ahsoka leaving the jedi order, that anakin joined Sidious.
Sure, put Ahsoka Tano on trial for a crime she didn't commit with the future Grand Moff as prosecutor, only to find out that another Jedi (Barrass Offee) was behind the bombing of the Jedi Temple. Then, Darth Sidious comes to regret and HATE the trial. Unbelievable. Great video btw.
An unforeseen snag that made him facepalm for the rest of his life. A strategic blunder in an otherwise flawless master plan. At least it is a blunder he can live, unlike his former master; a blunder that got him killed for lack of awareness.
Even though it would work in his favor, I would love to see him be able to travel back in time to fix his mistakes just because of how irritated and annoyed he was because of them.
10 years ago a young Jedi Padawan was put on trial for a crime she didn't commit, she was then found innocent and offered to return, she declined. Now in hiding from the Empire, and her old master now Darth Vader, she still survives as a wanted fugitive, if you need help, and if you can find her, then maybe you can join Ahsoka Tano (and the Rebellion), (theme song starts playing).
Would’ve never thought that the trial would’ve had ramifications that long, but it’s understandable due to Anakin’s inability to let go. Great video SWRC
I think that if Tarkin wasn't so important to Sidious, Vader would have killed him near the beginning of the empire. Just as important officers have been killed for less.
Hey SWRC quick question. In Rogue One, we learned that some people Saw Gerrera's gang learned that Jyn Erso was the daughter of Galen Erso and were planning on using her as a hostage. Do you think the Rebellion would have done the same if they found out Luke and Leia were Darth Vader's children?
Held them hostage? Luke and Leia her high ranking officers and and hero of the alliance respectively. They would have buried the truth deep and burned the evidence
@@starwarsreadingclub I cried throughout that arc. Speaking of Ahsoka, I'm writing a book about her from her point of view. I need names for younglings for Clawmouse Clan. Any ideas? Thanks.
I never did understand why tarkin tried so hard to pin the bombing on ahsoka. If he knew damn well his life was saved by her in the cidadel. He knew she valued life. So it's hypocritical of his part to accuse her of the bombing
it's star wars literally everyone is a massive hypocrite even the likes of Obi-wan Luke Yoda Ashoka Anakin everyone is a massive hypocrite who does not practice what they preach. but it's not a bad thing it just shows that all the characters or flawed and human.
Just like most imperial officers, Tarkin was always a desk jockey trying to boost his own prestige. Right or wrong, he wanted to make himself look good. Why do you think so many Republic officers quietly accepted the new state of things? The Republic was a cesspit of corruption long before the Sith takeover.
Well, she WAS basically Anakin's little sister. If she had been convicted, the Republic would've likely executed her. The Republic that Palpitine ran. There's no way Anakin would've joined him.
I'll be honest. Didn't know he disliked it! If she have been executed, it would have driven Anakin further into the dark side! Another great video nonetheless!!
Thank you DW, I appreciate that a lot. You bring up an awesome point. At first, Sidious loved the trial, recognizing that Anakin was being pushed even further from the Jedi High Council/Order. However, five years into the Empire, Sidious recognized an unintended consequence of the trial: Vader hating Tarkin (or at least having no respect for him), which was a disaster for his overall plans. It really is a great piece of writing by Luceno. Thank you again for watching!
@@starwarsreadingclub it makes me wonder what Anakin might have done if Asoka have been found guilty and possibly sentenced to death. Let's face it Anakin wasn't exactly well known for thinking is decisions through at times and given just how close he was with Ahsoka I wonder just how far he would have gone to save her.
goofy gamer I think he would’ve died to protect her, I think his love for her was profound and I actually think that if he had left the Jedi order with her, darth Vader would never have been born
The other thing was Tarkin's lack of appreciation of the force. We see this in a New Hope when Vader senses Kenobi, but it is also apparent in the Ashoka trial. Tarkin could not see beyond the concrete evidence leading him logically to suspect Ashoka. He did not recognise the possibility that another Jedi was using the force to frame Ashoka. I think aside from his personal attachment to Ashoka, this failure made Tarkin, in Vader's eyes, unworthy of serving alongside him when it came to dealing with other force users and surviving Jedi.
I wonder how much Palps knew about the bombing. Barriss acted pretty independently, and it's unlikely he knew the whole truth of what was transpiring. Looking at it from the moment the bombs went off, perhaps Palps thought it would be a good idea to assign Tarkin to the investigation so he could get into Anakins good grace's by being one of the first to recognize the "treachery" of the jedi. Palpatine is a master planner, but he is not omniscient. That Barriss chose to frame Ahsoka of all people was probably a huge wrench in his plans. Now, instead of throwing a nobody under the bus to build Tarkin's anti-jedi credibility, it was someone close to Anakin. At that point, Palp had no choice but to let Tarkin continue on the prosecution, and though Ahsoka was not ideal, it did drive a further wedge between Anakin and the jedi, and he might have been able to get rid of that pesky padawan attachment as consolation.
Sidious grew uneasy with the relationship between Vader and Tarkin. Just as Raptor fans have grown uneasy since Leonard purchased that 13.3 million dollar house in LA😬
Lol!! I was going to bring up Kyrie before you beat me too it. I've always thought KL was heading to LA at the end of the year (if not before), but the evidence is getting stronger in that direction.

His failure to comprehend emotions like compassion and love would lead to his ultimate demise. It happened with one individual Anakin/Vader cared about and it would repeat itself years later with another.
Sidious is a pyschopath and, really, a barely functional one at that. Torturing Vader was fun, torturing Luke was fun, torturing Maul was fun, killing all those Jedi was fun. It was so much fun that he couldn't stop and think that, hey, maybe I'm being a bit too mean.
that was clearly sidious' plan to pin it on ahsoka you can tell straight away he knew ahsoka was that close to anakin plus he wanted anakin to kill obi wan for his full conversion to the dark side but obviously that didnt happen
TL:DR - Due to Tarkin's part of Ahsoka's Trial it caused issues in the early empire days between Vader & Tarkin. Since Vader wasn't Tarkin's biggest fan. It created a risk with in his empire that wouldn't be needed if Tarkin wasn't involved in that trial.
@@jennas9033 Wookipedia says Ahsoka was born in 36 BBY. Anakin was born in 41 BBY. So he was 20 and she was 15, because the difference in their age is 5 years.
The trial worked in Palps favor. With Ahsoka being accused and not trusted by the Jedi order she left. This is one of the biggest reasons I think Anakin turned and became Darth Vader.
As skilled as Vader/Anakin was, it always amazed me that he could never see that Palps was behind every bad thing that happened to him from the day that he left Tatooine.
Seems to me like Vader didn't kill Sidious because, sadly, Sidious was really all he had left. Everyone else was either dead or in hiding and, while Anakin would have been emperor, he would have also been well and truly alone.
Vader COULDN'T kill Sidious after the events of EP3. He realized after his loss to Obi-Wan what Sidious had done, but now, as he was a shell of what he was, he could never stand up to Sidious on his own, hence his fascination with finding an apprentice who would be powerful enough to take down the Emperor with him and rule at his side
What I still want to know is WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BARRISS OFFEE?! Her falling to the Dark Side was not initially intended as she was to die during Order 66 in RotS but then the Clone Wars changes her character by having her turn into a murderer because she sensed darkness within the Jedi Order and the Republic. What happened to her?!
i honestly didn't mind her story being left open ended because yes clone wars got axed before it's story concluded but it did end on a note that still transitioned it perfectly into episode 3 also barris offee's character's fate is quite simple to understand it comes down to 3 basic outcomes. outcome 1 she either was executed for treason by either the republic before order 66 or outcome 2 by the empire after order 66 because her being a former Jedi made her a threat to the empire. or outcome 3 she was employed in the empire's ranks either as an early Inquisitor that was killed off sometime before the other inquisitors in rebels showed up or she's still alive and under the empire's employee somewhere else as something else.
@@michaelkean5969 they might have given her the same treatment they gave revan, wipe her mind and start from scratch hoping she would be a proper jedi afterwards.
In the end, Palpatine’s main problem was that he always tended to focus too much on his immediate goal rather than his long-term ones. He was so focused on corrupting Anakin that he forgot to think about what would happen after he had taken over. It’s jus like when he tried to kill Luke after offering him Vader’s place- what kind of awkwardness would that have caused between them if Luke died? He shrugs it off like, “Well, uh, that was a test, my apprentice, and you passed, so...”
2:37 Everything Vader says about how the Death Star is gonna be Tarkin's tomb and how the Force is stronger than technology is so true. Sure, the Death Star can destroy planets, but the Force can destroy stars.
who proved Ashoka's trial first hand that has not impacted her ability by Explosion's on the tempol for the trial attempted on her life after being blamed and then left the Jedi order failing her former master right after the 1st episode her master accepted her as a Padawan until the order wanted her back and closed her masters hand with her braid in it
Ahsoka was Anakin's little sister, not just his padawan. She could have saved him, and helped stop him succumbing to the dark. But imagine if Ahsoka joined Anakin in the Empire. They'd be pretty unstoppable
And that ladies and gentlemen pretty much showed that despite what Vader had become and how he would act towards ahsoka in the events of rebels, Vader still cared about his former apprentice and still held hatred towards tarkin for prosecuting against her. In the words of enzo, "bada boom realist guy in the room!"
(Vader and Tarkin just chilling in the Death Star) Vader: so... remember the time you tried to have my padawan executed? Tarkin: oh, that. Yeah, sorry about that. But didn't you try to kill her a few years ago too? Vader: ...touché
Did anyone else notice that Vader's face looks like a Cat shaped grandfather clock at 3:00 ? It's interesting because Anakin and Tarkin both seemed to respect one another during the Clone Wars, but it does make sense that he'd have some deep seeded anger toward him after that trial. I'm curious to see if Ahsoka actually did abandon Anakin in the final TCW seasons coming soon. It makes me wonder if the vision she had in Rebels was manifestation of her own fears and regrets of leaving the Jedi Order and Anakin behind, or a prelude of things to come in the new series? They never actually ended on any bad terms, and Anakin totally understood her reasons for leaving, so I'm eager to find out.
my guess is that it's a combo of everything that happend. her leaving the temple making him feel that not only was she abandoning him but that he had failed her as her teacher and as her closest friend.
Great question Josh. As the Tarkin novel explains it, it isn't so much that the trial directly caused animosity from Vader to Tarkin. As Sidious recognized, the trial caused a rift and disaffection to build between Tarkin and Anakin. Then after becoming Vader, Vader wasn't willing to mend the rift that was previously created, no matter what had been its original source. Basically, Vader never cared for Tarkin and he wasn't about to try in the early years of the Empire, much to the contempt of Sidious. :)
Josh Bayer Plus I think Vader still cared about Ahsoka deep down. We sort of saw the struggle between Anakin and Vader right before he told Ashoka he was going to kill her. I forget what Star Wars UA-camr said this, but they said that the reason Vader wanted Ahsoka dead was because she reminded him of Anakin, and thus she reminded him of pain, so he had to kill her so Anakin and Anakin’s pain would die with her. But I still think he cared deep down, but he suppressed it because he didn’t want to think about all the emotional baggage he had deep down about his past life.
Josh Bayer I feel like if he truly didn’t care the flash of anakins face within Vader’s helmet would have never happened, hence it being a mutual experience, Vader once seeing Ashoka felt the rush of light side emotions from the past which is what she was seeing, hence why anakins force ghost isn’t Vader
The Ashoka trial was great for Sidious. It made Anakin angry with the Jedi council. He started disobeying them, thus creating more tension between Anakin and the Jedi council. It also removes Ashoka from Anakin’s life, one less influence to calm him. One theory I’ve read is that after Ashoka left, Anakin needed relief and accidentally got Padme pregnant, thus the final catalyst for him turning to the dark side
I always assumed that Sidious actually orchestrated the trial, convincing barriss to frame Ahsoka to further drive a wedge between Anakin and the Jedi order, and separate him from the one person who may be able to redeem him
Caedus go look up the alternate life of Ahsoka series on Hentai Foundry. So far there are 3 parts to it (1st is called the last day, 2nd a new day, and 3rd the long day) and in the the 3rd one at some point she actually gets turned into a Futa. Actual good story with plenty of fun adult content.
If vader held a grudge over ashoka, wouldn't that mean underneath all the "i destroyed anakin skywalker" shit vaders always talking about. He obviously still holds a fondness for her or else why would he let his feelings about her, effect his relationship with tarkin? If anakin really is dead than that fondness for ashoka would be obsolete, therefore vader shouldn't care if tarkin had once upon a time, spearheaded the trail of anakin skywalkers padawan.. So I'm saying, there must still be a fondness for ashoka in vader. Especially for vader to still hold a grudge about something he technically shouldn't care about anymore.
I always think that palpatine wanted to bring ahsoka over to the dark side and have her be the head inquisitor as a gray(/like the orignal jedi who study both sides) force welder that would command all the force welders in the empire because she would have the cunning of the light and the cruelty of the dark, she would make the perfect imperial Negotiator and would help with the empires public image
Ahsoka's trial and subsequent leaving the Jedi Order has always been one of the main reasons he joined the Sith. Heck, I'd say it would be the biggest reason he lost faith in the Jedi.
I'm not sure how that would work. Vader thought of Anakin as someone he killed, and he couldn't really admit he actually *loved* Ahsoka, which would be the implicit emotion behind his resentment of Tarkin. Also, he had no qualms actually trying to *kill* Ahsoka later, in the Rebels series. To his mindset, memory of her would have been only pain and betrayal, not love and loyalty.
He also must have regretted it because of how she left the order. It was a failed trial and she was a Jedi who got away, and one he might have known Vader wouldn't be able to kill.
Does anyone wish that in a comic book or regular book or some form of media, that we could see Tarkin get completely messed up. Like someone get into his office and start beating the crap out of him. Even if it’s just his face I just feel extremely unsatisfied with how he died because it had to be instantaneous.
I love how Darth Vader and Anakin mimicked each other as they both chafed under the authority of the Sith and the Jedi Orders. Apparently, during Vader’s early years, Sidious felt a great amount of disappointment mixed with pride in his dark apprentice’s attitudes and choices.
i always felt that in Palpatine/Sidious Perfect world he would want Anakin Obi-wan and Ashoka under his wing. because all 3 showed the most potential in the force to be his enforcer for the Sith empire. he would have Anakin as his apprentice and number two and Ashoka and Obi-wan and the heads of his inquisitors and if Sidious knew the Padme was carrying children at the time then that was yet another future generation of Children that could carry on the Sith tradition.
That would work basically cement his rule permanently and insure that he'd never fall from power plus he'd get to keep his rather twisted friendship with Anakin so that way, Anakin would be less likely to try and depose him.
I’m just an old fan who loved Peter Cushing’s portrayal. Just from the movie’s standpoint- it seems that they got along all right. I know the different novelizations said they didn’t, but I would’ve liked to hear something about them as lethal homies that accepted their different abilities - this based on Leia’s line, something like “I should have expected to find you holding Vader’s leash.”
Some things bad happen to the Jedi and for once Darth sidious or any other dark siders has nothing to do with it. But he was still laughing at the weakness of the jedi. One of my favorite story arcs. Only beaten by the one where they decover count dooku was Darth tyannus all along
Not to mention how the Jedi were doing as much damage to themselves with their stupidity and caving into the Senate to avoid getting the public mad at them as Palpatine was with his plots.
"Hated" is too strong a word. He may have had a slight regret but I would say that was it. Remember Sidious used jealousy as a weapon/tool to inspire competition for his attention and approval.
I don't think he even liked the trail when it came up as he had to sentence ashoka if he had sentenced her to death for high treason that would have put a huge divide between him and anakin most likely enought that anakin would never join him nor trust him anymore heck if anything still played out as before anakin might not have interrupted master windu in return of the sith
@@BiggieT04 Vader never killed her. During the Rebels S4 finale it shows her alive after The Death Star so it could be likely that he visited her, but we won't know until later material is released
So basically Vader was as salty as Anakin about Ahsoka's trail and was pissed at Tarkin for his role in it. Meaning that Vader treated Tarkin coldly and felt tense with him because the Dark Lord still felt the sting of that event
He probably especially hated it because the two of them had so much potential as shown in The Clone Wars where Anakin actually agrees with a lot of Tarkin‘s ideas during his rescue
Tarken is a bastard but he's such a cool character. A unique combination of class, intelligence, and evil. Too bad tarken passed away on the death star, otd have been cool to see more of Peter Kushing in the original trilogy
I bet Palpatine found the Ashoka Tano trial to be quite amusing at first. Anikin moving further to the dark side, driving a wedge between him and the Jedi order, sentencing a “obscure padawan” to certain death for a crime they never committed, and then seeing the real mastermind was a Jedi who turned to the dark side openly admitting to the crimes Ashoka was framed for. You’d think Palpatine was watching his favorite TV drama. However, Tarkin was acting against Ashoka in that trial, an oversight that Palpatine should have prevented if he wanted his two greatest assets to get along in the future.
1:27 Tarkin: Lord Vader. Your presence here is *unauthorized!* Vader: And yet, Governor Tarkin, here I am. Oh my god, I love how Vader's responses to basically any officers are always some variation of "Fuck you, I do as I please".
Vader constantly battles with himself to keep Anakin contained and buried within his subconscious mind. That means cutting off most if not all associated sentiments and attachments to his past life as Anakin Skywalker and fully immersing himself in the role of Darth Vader. Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Yoda, the Jedi Council mean little to him with the only real exceptions being Padme and possibly Shmi (his mother). It seems strange to me that Vader still carries bitter feelings for someone for a wrongdoing of a past identity he tries to detach himself from. Tarkin's role in the Ahsoka trial is something ANAKIN should be resentful for. Vader shouldn't feel anything. The fact that Darth Vader still carries those feelings for Tarkin wronging Anakin's padawan tells me that Ahsoka was quite dear to him even though he was willing to finish her off in their fateful duel
One can also argue that without the trail Ahsoka probably would not have survived Order 66. Meaning she would not have aid the Rebel Alliance in there early years. So the whole trail in the long run probably caused a lot of damage to the Empire.
Honestly I thought in the beginning Sidious was the one responsible for the bobbing of the temple and had one of his agents who was a Jedi be the one to do it cause he wanted Anakin all to himself and saw Ahsoka as nothing more then a barrier dividing his attention
Vader : " Kill me if you can" Tarkin : " Challenge accepted" Two months later Vader is sitting on a lone planet. Vader: "Why did the Emperor want me to come here?" Tarkin : " One reactor should do." Spins around in his chair to face the planet, "Fire"

Andster11 Productions yea but I mean Vader tried to kill her... soooooo
The Jedi Order of The Old Republic would reprimand them so hard for the B.S. they let the government and criminals of the galaxy get away with !
the Jedi where Grade A hypocrites infact they were the definition of Hypocrisy
they did not preach what they practiced and even then they actively bent the rules of their own philosophy and loopholed around it to benefit themselves.
"Jedi are not allowed Attachments such as Familiar or romantic bonds" yet
Ki-Adi-Mundi had several Wives (i do not give a shit if it was exceptional circumstances to save his near extinct species hypocrisy is still hypocrisy and he should have been expelled or discharged from the Jedi order in order to pursue a mating crisis)
"Jedi are allowed to have feelings yet are not allowed to act on them"
what this fuck does this even mean if you our allowed to have attachments yet cannot act on them then you are preaching that you are not allowed to decipher right from wrong and this only makes matters worse.
"we are keepers of the peace not soldiers"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH FUCKING LIARS!!!
if you where "keepers of the peace" then you wouldn't be actively war mongering and fighting around the galaxy and choosing sides between the GR and the CIS.
Yeas They failed me.

Vader COULDN'T kill Sidious after the events of EP3.
But in Rebels it clearly shows that Vader doesn't care about ahsoka anymore, so why would he still be angry at Tarkin?
Basically, Tarkin had crossed him, and that was enough for Vader. Under what circumstance was irrelevant.
Gameguy 1128 idk why but reading the “he told Ashoka he was going to Mille her” line made my heart sink then actually watching it happen in rebels.
I always assumed that Sidious actually orchestrated the trial, convincing barriss to frame Ahsoka to further drive a wedge between Anakin and the Jedi order, and separate him from the one person who may be able to redeem him
Ahsoka is best Jedi ever Nuff said
Ahsoka futa porn is quite good.

If vader held a grudge over ashoka, wouldn't that mean underneath all the "i destroyed anakin skywalker" shit vaders always talking about.
Great video! Really interesting
“In this video eeexpoooosééééé”
Ahsoka's trial and subsequent leaving the Jedi Order has always been one of the main reasons he joined the Sith. Heck, I'd say it would be the biggest reason he lost faith in the Jedi.
Agreed
@@realahsokatano5046 Oh, hello again.
Nice! I actually never looked at it from that certain point of view.
I never really thought about this but it makes sense!
Ahsoka is a great character!
Thanks
Does anyone wish that in a comic book or regular book or some form of media, that we could see Tarkin get completely messed up. Like someone get into his office and start beating the crap out of him. Even if it’s just his face I just feel extremely unsatisfied with how he died because it had to be instantaneous.
To think when Tarkin and anakin first met they hit it off. Obi even called him his new friend.
Do you think ahsoka remembers palpatine. And knows about him and regretting everything because its al his fault wat played out
I love how Darth Vader and Anakin mimicked each other as they both chafed under the authority of the Sith and the Jedi Orders. Apparently, during Vader’s early years, Sidious felt a great amount of disappointment mixed with pride in his dark apprentice’s attitudes and choices.
Good tie in and analysis.
i always felt that in Palpatine/Sidious Perfect world he would want Anakin Obi-wan and Ashoka under his wing. because all 3 showed the most potential in the force to be his enforcer for the Sith empire. he would have Anakin as his apprentice and number two and Ashoka and Obi-wan and the heads of his inquisitors and if Sidious knew the Padme was carrying children at the time then that was yet another future generation of Children that could carry on the Sith tradition.
I don't think he even liked the trail when it came up as he had to sentence ashoka if he had sentenced her to death for high treason that would have put a huge divide between him and anakin most likely enought that anakin would never join him nor trust him anymore heck if anything still played out as before anakin might not have interrupted master windu in return of the sith
random but did Ahsoka live long enough to be able to meet Anakin's force ghost and if so why didn't he ever visit her?
@@BiggieT04 Vader never killed her. During the Rebels S4 finale it shows her alive after The Death Star so it could be likely that he visited her, but we won't know until later material is released
Yep Vader and tarkin are friendememeis
So basically Vader was as salty as Anakin about Ahsoka's trail and was pissed at Tarkin for his role in it. Meaning that Vader treated Tarkin coldly and felt tense with him because the Dark Lord still felt the sting of that event
I doubt he regretted it really, if Ashoka was their when revenge of the sith went down I just can’t see Anakin turning
He probably especially hated it because the two of them had so much potential as shown in The Clone Wars where Anakin actually agrees with a lot of Tarkin‘s ideas during his rescue
Hahaha 'alliances?'
Enjoyed this video immensely!
Tarken is a bastard but he's such a cool character. A unique combination of class, intelligence, and evil.
Too bad tarken passed away on the death star, otd have been cool to see more of Peter Kushing in the original trilogy
For someone who had some a foresight and plotting the entire clone wars etc and planning his empire it's weird he didnt see this coming

Tarkin: Lord Vader. Your presence here is *unauthorized!*
Vader: And yet, Governor Tarkin, here I am.
Oh my god, I love how Vader's responses to basically any officers are always some variation of "Fuck you, I do as I please".
OK, i havent watched a video of yours yet.. but.. i am so interested in this one and its in my recommended and i see how is
Ahsoka wasn't an obscure Jedi padawan.
Say the line, Club
SWRC: In this video exposé,
Not a bad video at all. But the way he reads his lines out, if I didn't know any better I'd suspect him of being a droid.
If Ashoka did not leave anakin might of not turned who knows
Meh Tarken would later die on another one of Sidious's mistakes so it would balance out
One can also argue that without the trail Ahsoka probably would not have survived Order 66. Meaning she would not have aid the Rebel Alliance in there early years. So the whole trail in the long run probably caused a lot of damage to the Empire.
All Sidious’s long term plans, his vision, and he was short sighted when it came to Ahsoka. Short term gain exchanged for long term ANImosities.
Honestly I thought in the beginning Sidious was the one responsible for the bobbing of the temple and had one of his agents who was a Jedi be the one to do it cause he wanted Anakin all to himself and saw Ahsoka as nothing more then a barrier dividing his attention
Im still surprised they didn’t reveal Baris as the seventh sister. THAT WOULD’VE BEEN INSANE
Ashoka is so awesomz
Vader : " Kill me if you can"
Tarkin : " Challenge accepted"
Two months later Vader is sitting on a lone planet.
Vader: "Why did the Emperor want me to come here?" Looking around the vast emptiness before him, and seeing nothing but sand. " I hate sand"
A massive object comes out of hyperspace beside the planet. It was no moon.
Tarkin : " One reactor should do." Spins around in his chair to face the planet, "Fire"
Someone was shocked.
