Wanted to buy a phone under the budget of 40-45k. But what i see is no phones are good under that budget. All i want is a good processor with good performance, decent camera setup, fast charging and good ui. Oneplus is doomed after the colorOS merger. Thought to buy nothing, but nothing facinates me to buy the same. Don't like the OS of oppo and iqoo etc. Currently using poco f1 but never find a phone after that that is worthy to upgrade.
Not a big fan of iphones and galaxy series because of their slow charging. Even of i buy any phones like 12R, i will still have constant fear of green lines and motherboard issues. The only reason for upgrading is facing lag issues which I'm currently facing last 1 year. Even after hard reset, it still lags.

Bruh in display is obviously more convenient because
      1. Your thumb position is naturally over the screen most of the time.
      2. Suppose you want to see a notification on the lock screen without unlocking. Not convenient for side mounted. Even if you just hold the phone it can accidentally unlock.
      3. Having the power button and sensor on the same thing defeats the mechanical purpose of the power button, everytime you press it your sensor will activate which will ruin it faster
      4. If you have your phone on a tripod or bike/car mount side mounted sensor will be practically unreachable.
      5. Side mounted sensor captures a small portion of the finger during authentication, increasing chances of false positives. Less secure.

@@_sayandas only 4th option is understandable. Others never bothered me. I always keep the tap to awake option on, so I can just tap on my screen if I want to see notifications. Also, you could customise whether to unlock your phone by touching the power button or by pressing it. I can work with a side mounted fingerprint sensor and a better camera or more ram.

    Some Main Gimmicks.
    1) AI. AI. AI. (ispe likhne baithunga toh iPhone 69 launch ho jayega)
    2) Ram Booster or Virtual Memory. Fun fact, it wastes your flash storage's precious cycles & can have slow down your phone. Every modern OS has something called Swap Memory. It is a section of a computer's drive that stores data from RAM when the computer runs out of memory. Android has ZSWAP.
    3) Megapixel bullshit. I can't believe they are doing 200 and 108 MP bullshit in 2024.
    4) Curved Display madness. Trust me, nothing beats a flat display with subtly curved bezels rather than curved screen. You can see Huawei Mate 60 Pro to check it.
    5) Hyper Fast Charging. You don't need fast charging over 65 watt for a phone with 5000 mAh battery. Most of these 100+ W chargers will reduce the battery lifespan dramatically. I have a motorola I bought 5 years ago. It charges with 10W and has 85% battery health after almost 6-7 hours of daily use which includes gaming.
    6) Still prioritizing Peak Brightness over High Brightness Mode

Curved display on my Edge 40 is the best thing for me. Flatter displays are fine, but curved display adds more dimension to the screen, like edge lighting for notifications. I use it so extensively when I'm in library and my device is on silent, but I need to get the notifications. It also looks much better than flat display when watching anything.
I am very careful with my device and thus am using it without even the screen protector (my old phone had its firs fall after 5 years). But clumsy people, you definitely need to put a screenguard.

Majorly Curve display smartphones in mid range doesn't comes that much great display protection like flagship phones , so don't compare it with flagship. So there is high possibility of break. Also this display is costlier compare to flat display. Also with curved display there is discoloration issues on the sides. So I don't this curved display are good. Only look wise good otherwise flat display are more practical to use. So , Samsung is also now removing the curved display on flagship like s24 ultra and apple doesn't five it.
