I was little when I started watching checch an Chong. Smoking an being funny was the best thing ever in the late 80's early 90's. I still watch there movies alllllllll of em!
As a kid I found a copy of their Big Bambu album at a thrift store, not sealed but it does still have the rolling paper. Hoping it might be worth something one day lol if not I got a giant vintage rolling paper to roll up with
It’s the best thing when you’re young. You say 80s/90s cuz of your age. For me it was the late 2000s, early 2010s. For others it’s the late 2020s, etc. I might not be young but at least I don’t have that boomer mindset like you lol.
Yep first time I got a big bag of weed we were hi n hungry looking through my parents vhs tapes & found "Up in Smoke" Never laughed so hard...... But that's how we got caught being high laughing at that Ajax scene My mom: OMG eating everything in the house and laughing hysterically YOU GUYS ARE HIGH! We were like don't tell pops 🤣 She put on the whole Cheech n Chong series for us...... Then pops came home from work, were sleep, he finds my bag of weed and smokes all of it🤣 High Times!!!
Mannnn, I miss the days sittin in my pops living room watching Cheech & Chong getting baked as hell off whatever bud was around north Alabama at the time, which wasnt the greatest quality but still not bad smoke. And it was just the best thing ever to me as a kid lol getting stoned watching these guys get stoned an do a bunch of wild shit 😂
l was in a crazy huge band in Dallas Tx in the 80s named 'Stadenko's Barber' for a brief period. Extreme instrumental beck/Zappa type stuff. Lots of local players went thru that band that went on to greatness. Best band name ever tho.
I love this man! Great great interview, glad to hear the whole story, he’s always been very interesting and I heard he got in touch with Chong through something where they work together in Chong’s club. But they never fully talked about it I think. It’s crazy everything that went on and these 2 legends now just work together and creat a genre. They are very important for history, like there stuff or not it’s just amazing.
Age is weird. But I'm thankful. I'm old enough to have seen every Cheech & Chong movie in theaters, but too young to have known about the their records at that time-we would just sneak listening to Richard Pryor records. I did here the Dave bit on Dr. Demento, but didn't even KNOW it was them for years. But C & C put ALLL their friends in their movies, that's where I first saw Pee Wee Herman. And I think it's where I first saw Chong's daughter Rae Dawn too.
They have been reunited for years and have done numerous shows. However, it isnt the same. It's Cool as a trip down memory lane but kind of a bummer to see them old playing stoners when they don't even smoke anymore
@@ri067953 I know Ri0, but things change. People get old. Paul McCartney isn't with the Beatles anymore, the Rolling Stones of today are not the Stones of 1974, the Ford Mustang today isn't the one from 1967. And I'm not even the cool guy I was when I used to skate and do ollies up and down Venice Beach in 1999. Even if I put on those clothes, I'd look CRAZY!! So, watch the old movies, listen to the old cd's, watch them do interviews today. The good news is that they're STILL ALIVE bro, they survived--and Tommy got out of jail. It's all good.
up in smoke is top 5 funniest movie ever. they are way before my time and my pops would put them on when i was a kid. i quote they're movies all the time
Ok so quick story,i started smoking weed when i was 13 back in 1997,i hung out with older dudes that smoked cause i was mature for my age, blah blah blah, anyway my name is David and Everytime i would go to my friends house they'd ask who's there when i knocked,so I'd say David, and every single FN time they would answer with "Dave's not here" they would do it for like 10 to 15 minutes and when i would finally get inside they would always be dying of laughter 😂😂😂 one day they played me the record and i finally found out where it came from, one of the best skits of all time
Ik it sounds goofy as hell lol he's done that shit for years too by now he should know of something better to switch it up 🤦♂️ but I guess not so we just deal with the "OK.." lol
I saw their first movie in Santa Ana California when I was a teenager . I was 16 , I got my drivers license on my 16th birthday in 1978 , and purchased my first car the following week . I took my best friend Mick 🤪 We smoked some Thai weed when there was Thai Sticks . We must of laughed more than necessary all through “Up in Smoke”. Oh well I was 16 going to high school, had a job after school , had a girlfriend who became a long term thing . Like Cheech said “ Oh to be Young “ Good times and still going !
I love him! Wish him many more years!❤

As a Black Child growing up in the 1970’s I freaking love Cheech & Chong! Freaking Classic! ❤
He is such a LEGEND~!!

My grandma had me watching them from as far back as I could remember lol
Hilarious dude...I grew up doing the same thing here in San Diego by the beach...the best times 😂
I loved their comedy as a kid. 😂😂😂😂😂
I still smoke up to Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie 😮💨🔥🔥
Cheech plays a great smaller role in the new movie "The Long Game." It is about a Hispanic southern Texas high school golf team based on a true story.
If my name was Dave, I’d buy one of those “Dave’s Not Here” shirts to wear on the occasions when I’m out getting drunk
What a great interview 👏
Legendary
Dave’s not here is still hilarious. Heard it first back late seventies. Never stop laughing about

Ya I think it was actually Big Bamboo
i smoked one once
Yo you gotta interview Chong⛽️🔥💨💯
"Dave's Not Here" is pure comedy gold! I'd rank it up there with Abbott & Costello's "Who's On First".
If anyone tells you dumb people smoke weed tell them to look at this man. Dudes a borderline genius
This was the funniest duo I’ve ever seen. Wish cheech would get over his demons n reunite with Chong n do some more stuff
They hang, they're cool. Look up German in Venice from about 2 months ago, they were at Venice signing stuff and just chilling.
They have been reunited for years and have done numerous shows. However, it isnt the same. It's Cool as a trip down memory lane but kind of a bummer to see them old playing stoners when they don't even smoke anymore

Next Movie is my favorite one and the best one in my opinion
Cough 💨Cough 💨Choke 🤣
8:09 cheech 🗣️
My friends would be smoking dubies and mock Cheech and Chong. We would laugh over and over never got tired of hearing my friends mock the skits.....😅
🏀 Basset-Ball Jones .. 🎶

Cheech needs to grow back that mustache! 😂

IT'S ALWAYS FUNNY TO SEE ANY MOVIE OF CHEECH N CHONG WHEN UR SMOKING N SUPER HIGH AF IS JUST SUPER FUNNY
Wasnt the record called Big Bamboo?
Yes and it had Cheech and chong rapped up in a huge joint 😂😂😂
Opened for Cannon Ball Adderley???
he learned to speak english quite well
"Ok".
Cheech N Chong dbd?!!!?
"WHO IS IT??"
Cheech snitchin on himself
Even Cheech believes Boyle Heights is East LA.
It's not.
Dave Chappelle was funniest man than katt mike and D.L. Humphrey
