I met Tommy once after his comedy show. I told him my kids & I loved this skit & listened to it every Christmas. He said, "Far out, man!" True story lol.
I just turned 69 years old. And I have loved Cheech and Chong every since I first heard them. They have actually made me laugh till I Cry. Brings back some good old memories from my younger years
Who is it? It's Dave man open up I think the cops are following me. Dave? Yeah man! Dave's not here! I listened to that the first time before I ever smoked and thought it was stupid. Then years later I heard it again when I was high AF and laughed myself into tears. 🤣🤣🤣
@@RoyARobson Canada is part of North America. I get what you're saying. As a United States Citizen it bugs me when people claim "America!". It's 2 fucking Continents and a lot of countries and states!
I remember being 5 yrs old and huddled around the record player with my three older brothers in the garage quietly laughing our asses off 🤣 so that our mom didn't catch us listening to this album. We listened to their album over and over while I laughed and studied the cover of the album it came in. Does anyone remember the giant rolling paper that was inside their album? I'm 52yrs old now and I remember it like it was yesterday. We loved all their comedy albums and their movies. We never got caught by mom listening to their albums.
LOVE CHEECH AND CHONG--SO GLAD TO SEE THEM PERFORM AGAIN!! No one, comes close to their innovative, quirky, drug-addled comedy, AND it is PURE Nostalgia for me, having grown up with them. Favorite routine is, "Dave? Dave's not here man." They are a CLASSIC Comedy duo--like Laurel and Hardy, and Abbott and Costello and Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. Hopefully, they can continue to perform together. I feel so lucky to have grown up with all of my parents' early TV entertainers and comedians, and also the newer (now older) group of performers--Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, and the Saturday Night Live original players. I feel very privileged to have been around for some of the best comedy ever.
They got away with alot of 5hit through the years and did it with grace and talent.Everyone loves them in one way or the other.I heard them on a record at my friend's neighbors house when I was about 11 for the first time and years later Up In Smoke Came out and literally saw it 12 times at the walk in movie theater and we smoked weed before each time I went to see it.
In the '70s when I was 12, me and my friends would run and gather around a tiny AM pocket radio every time C&C came on. Sister Mary Elephant, Earache My Eye, Ralph & Herbie, and the story of Santa Claus, were all our favorites.
I heard this when I was 13. It made such an impression I could do the routine from memory after only hearing it once. I didn't understand some parts, being 13. I thought "magic dust" was just magic but I was an instant life-long fan. I guess I need to learn the new version!
The Mark Twain awards should make a one time exception & award it to Cheech & Chong next time asap.Their contribution & influence to comedy is undeniable.
Went to a concert in their early years because I wanted to see what a Chinese/Mexican comedy act was. Saw them not knowing anything about them and it was one of the best concerts I went to. I was laughing in the aisles.
The big bamboo album had a giant zig zag paper in it so I rolled a giant joint and 5 of us smoked it and listen to the album! And cracked up until our stomach hurt. Acapulco Gold. ( the 70's )
I grew up watching Cheech and Chong movies and stand up. My mother never thought it would make me take drugs or anything bad, she understood their comedy surpassed the drug references! To this day I've never smoked pot, but still love Cheech and Chong!
Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod! These guys were the thing in my youth. Some of the greatest movies so worthwhile you can watch tham over and over and over again
Simon & Garfunkel of Comedy. They just have a comedic tone that's unmistakable. And my gut hurts so bad after listening to them I just can't laugh anymore it hurts. Thank you to whoever put this together this is really good thank you I needed this.
First heard of Cheech and Chong back when I was 8 - heard their Sister Mary Elephant bit on an LP single. Many years later, I watched Up In Smoke and I was hooked. "Uh, his name is Raaalph, man."
Glad 2C the lads still giggin!! "Up N Smoke" was instant cult hit!! Although I was "over the hill"( over 25) I still enjoyed the humor. Then, and now. TY!!
They played a gig at the Rainbow club YEARS AGO Early 80's. My party of 4 the only CHICANOS in the crowd. They gave us the seats tables right by the stage the stage was a small horse show type set up. The pink tutu, the blindman, OMG when they stopped to talk they talked stright to us. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT ON THE SUNSET STRIP.
Been a fan of there's my whole life. I can't begin to express how happy I am to see them on stage together. I hope they've been able to put aside the past and just enjoy each other as friends again. Far out man!
I introduced my twin 7 year olds to this just last Christmas. All December long all I heard was "Alexa play Santa Claus and his old lady". Showed them the beginning of this just to see the recognition dawn 😆 love it!
MAN, these two are just Amazing, to still be together after all these years and entertaining us. I love these guys and am glad I had them in my time growing up. They were an Iconic fixture of my youth! ✌☮
The "hey man" burnout bits had their place back in the 70's. I enjoyed them and still laugh when I find clips from Cheech & Chong movies while searching the internet. As for seeing them as 70 year-olds replaying the same roles, well...
Great to see them together updating a classic bit. Chong jokingly references Chris Christie and "the bridge" so I place this from sometime in 2013 during "Bridgegate"? Doesn't matter I guess, they are timeless.
I think the name of their first album was Big Bamboo (like the rolling papers). We’d get stoned and play it till me had it memorized. I’m 70 now, and I watched Up in Smoke so many times!!! Pot was a gateway drug to Cheech and Chong; a national treasure!
It's as if I'm watching a pair of look-alikes playing "Cheech and Chong." 😜 Seems odd after all these years they'd try the same shtick (which I LOVE) from the 70s without costuming to go along with it.

Nice man!
That’s sooo cool!!! Lucky You!!!
I would also like to be told 'far out!' by Tom Chong
Good for you !!

69, the most romantic age. Cheers!

For sure, great vid. Good laughs and good memories. Sis had the album.

I’m happy to see those two back together! What a great comedy duo!
This was from 2017.
I was gonna say...looks like they have.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Been a fan for 50 plus years, never gets old
true AMERICAN legends !!! thanx for all the laughs 👍
Well....Tommy's actually Canadian. But I guess you can legitimately say that as a duo they really made their mark in the US.
Tommy Chong is a Canadian from Edmonton Alberta

We rolled a joint with that giant rolling paper. Had more than a half ounce of Colombian Gold in it!

I remember being stationed in California smoking 4 finger lids for $10. (no charge for the seeds) We`d go cruising and listening to Cheech and Chong.
Ha, yes Son of a WW11 vet, me too, about the same age when you were listening to the LP’s, I was 11 YO in 1975.
Both of them end up in hell because they let it entire Generations into the drug scene
Nothing wrong with drugs. Without them most of us can’t get thru life. Coke and morphine were legal until like 1900.

I’ve heard the skit many times but have never watched them perform it. Such great comedians
Santa Clause and His Old Lady. One of the best skits they ever did. I listen to it every year, I make sure my neighbors can hear it.
I've been watching these two for close to 45 years and they still make me laugh!.
Cheech and Chong are a class act ✌️
‘class act’?! 🤦♂️
The only class they got, is some quality controlled ‘class C’ shit! 🍃💨
😂
These guys are timeless!! I remember all this from the 70’s-80’s. Giant rolling paper in the album sleeve.
Big Bambu. I still have mine 😁
@@GrandmaLoves2Scuba I used the paper.
