- Here is a quick restoration of an original Tamiya Wild One followed by a track run on the Port Royal Raceway.

Man that car looks so good on the track I’ve never given the wild one a second look til now!
Yeah we were all surprised... and now i cant fimd one for sale hahaha
One of the many things I love about the Wild One, is the rear end. The lack of rear toe in, the balance game you have to play while driving it between plenty of turn in vs spinning out. The sound of the rear tires scrabbling for traction as they throw dirt backwards. Crappy, oh yes. But I'll take a heaping pile of this old buggy any day.
Yeah it did better then i thought and tryd to buy it off him after we filmed haha

Dude, I've watched this video so many times. Plus it's refreshing to watch a Tamiya (gasp) get air! Everybody else just drives them around in gravel. Boring! Keep up the amazing work.
Even with the bloopers, Harry actually did a really good job making it look like it handles well!
I always wanted an FAV, so all these FAV or Wild One videos, oh I love seeing them! Looking forward to seeing more of this in the future on your channel!
Surprised it handled better then i thought. It takes alot more concentration to drive then a stadium truck but it was fun...... now i need one haha

I can’t believe how good of condition it is. Those tires alone, and no stress cracks wow. What a show stopper. It seems like the rims aged well too. Be careful she doesn’t brake a hip lol….
thanks for the comment. it was in pretty good condition. The owner gave me new original wheels for the front. All it needed was a good cleaning.
the track video is better than any Tamiya promos.
Nice run. I cringed in the bloopers reel everytime it hit the retaining wall and there was that loud cracking sound lol.

My first roc car was a wild one got back into RCS with a wild one love them they look great but it’s a shelf queen know go a bit of Traxxas in my life now 👍

they are crappy though when you compare them to a Schumacher Cat or Team associated or Team losi buggy. I own a Wild One and love it but it is what it is.

I have been into this hobby since 1983 and tamiya are tamiya they are unique in every way compared to the rest!
The Grasshopper is a great example of a terrible so called crappy buggy and so true the performance is very very very terrible indeed but its the King of buggies man!! Its never a performance thing unless its a TRF or something!
But saying all of that that Jamie Booth did alright with a tamiya!😉Anyway it don't really matter lol the crappy buggy race it is! The guy with the tash said!😆
I hear what u sayn but he is right compared to what we run they are crappy and it was just a thing i said we need a crappy buggy division. Wasnt gunna be the division name but it kinda explains itself just by hearing it and we kinds stuck with it haha. We dont love them less hell i love my pegasus and its a crappy buggy competitor haha

Be mindful not to full send this, they break easily. keep an eye out where the gearbox attaches to the metal brace. Thats where I broke mine.

I use an ultra sonic cleaner with just a little "Dove" soap. Maybe a spray or two of Simple Green as well.
