    Hypothetical Performance Disclosure:
Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. no representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.

Great content per the usual. I just wish you get the credit you deserve, your no BS content brings those who listen down to the reality they need to be when trying to scalp the market. Orders move markets :)

Great stuff! Thanks for sharing this. That is why I love the snapshot column (I use Sierra Chart, and I managed to have my DOM as on Jigsaw). When a big order is there, I wait to see what happens with it when a couple of contracts test it, so if I see that the snapshot displays pulling orders, and the other side is adding, then it might be a sign of spoofing and the intention going into the other direction. On the other side, when the order doesn’t move, and market orders keep hitting it, but nobody is trying to go to the other side, then I take it as someone who is not trying to stop the market, but maybe exiting a big position, and tI use that hypo only after some volatility, where big boys dont care about people “anticipating “ a reversal, because everybody is just too excited about a continuation

The snapshot column is great, but I don't have enough space for it :(. My custom market depth tape is really the best way to see what a large order did though.

I feel like you could really do with some visual prompts as I'm not really sure where to look.

Yes. Also, that large limit orders are only "large" in relation to the market orders executing against them multiplied by time sequences. Every millisecond is a potential for that relationship to change or remain.

During the time slots when there are no market orders to one side and aggressive limit orders hitting that side can throw price away only to snap back of those limit orders do not intend to execute any large market orders at any of the prices previously aggressed. I would say spoofing is more dangerous when the order add in sequences when there is lack of market orders to execute and pulling right when markets try to hit them. Almost looks like these order have sensors that tells them to pull right when huge market orders try to hit them

So you could see an Iceberg order on the sell side and a big spoof order on the limit buy side to encourage buyers to buy what you are trying to sell!.

Hi Seth. Just found your channel and I'm excited to binge over the xmas break. I have a question that is kind of related to the topic. Often on ES or NQ I'll see a large order flash a ways away from current price, and then price almost immediately starts to move in that direction. Example would be ES is trading at 4600, then 600 lots pop up at 4620 on the DOM and price almost immediately starts climbing towards that level. More often than not that 600 lots get filled. I am wondering if there is a market mechanic that causes the nearly simultaneous movement in price when that order flashes on the screen.
    Thanks for the great content!

I've definitely seen what you're talking about, but I think you'll find that the market's reaction changes over time. So I'd be careful basing your strategy just on that.

It's a vision bias. Because price moves in both directions randomly, you vision tells you that it's moving towards large sitting orders. Technically, it's impossible for larger setting orders to pull price towards it. Only the sequences of the relationship between orders in time does.

@@moroccantechnologies We kept stats on this for a few months. To get a true statistically significant result would take a very long time, but the short time we tracked it suggested it's not nearly as influential or consistent as people want to think.

@@SpeculatorSeth I mean I get that a huge order may want to fill at a specific price level but it's no going to show as a big limit order sitting in the book.
