    Hypothetical Performance Disclosure:
    Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. no representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk of actual trading. for example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all which can adversely affect trading results.

    Great video, Seth. As a CFA charterholder, I spent much of my time during the three levels focusing on FI. In terms of day trading/ trading for my own acct., I was always a little frustrated that my training didn't lend itself to personal futures trading as much as I would have thought. Treasuries are certainly an exception. I've thought of getting into the bond futures space (for personal trading), but never got around to digging into it. A lightbulb has gone off in my head and I'm exctied to roll up my sleeves. Thanks, again.

    Huge potential! going to be looking at these over the next week or so. Since micro yields track the current OTR’s trading on BrokerTec it could be a great way for us retail traders to get into treasury basis trading. At first glance I fear the bid/ask spreads are too wide to trade basis effectively? Hope they catch on and see those spreads narrow

    Good advice, Seth! Just getting started with treasuries after a long time trading options and FOREX. This helps a lot.

    I have a couple questions. Is the 10 year micro Treasury the most liquid of the micro treasuries? And is getting orders filled going to be a problem? I haven't thought much about getting filled trading the micro S&P but the price of the 10Y micro Treasury seems to jump around.

    • @SpeculatorSeth
      @SpeculatorSeth  Рік тому

      The 10y is definitely the most liquid. There is more than enough liquidity for retail trading, but you will have to think about your entries and exits a little. You can still execute in the other instruments, but you'll have to pay a spread for market orders. So I feel the others are really only suited for swing trades on the yield curve right now.

    I love the hours of trading the /ZN (10 year futures) on TD Ameritrade. However its hard to get in and out of an order. I would have to wait for a whole tick above or below my exit or enter order. Do you know of a more liquid brokerage to use? Great vid my friend!

      I would recommend using a futures specific broker, but for the CME products everything is being sent to the exchange.
      This is where having the order book and understanding things I teach in my other videos like catching the edge can be useful. Then you can avoid areas where it's harder to get a fill.

      Hey Dee See for futures I moved from TD to NinjaTrader. They are an awesome platform but only drawback is no mobile trading or web based trading. All has to be done on their platform.

    Hi, thank you for the video. So I don’t understand how much these micro futures contract cost for instance. A contract for June got 10 year yield futures is 3.444 so is that time 1000 for each contract ( like how it is with options it’s time 100)? I am kind of confused

    • @SpeculatorSeth
      @SpeculatorSeth  Рік тому

      You do not need the full value of the contract. You just need to have the day trade margin (currently $81.25) for an intraday trade, or the maintenance margin ($325.00) if you want to hold overnight.

    • @golden-dragon1442
      @golden-dragon1442 Рік тому

      @@SpeculatorSeth I see but my main question is how do I calculate how much each contract cost -how much is the total spent per trade.(if that makes sense)

    • @SpeculatorSeth
      @SpeculatorSeth  Рік тому

      @@golden-dragon1442 to calculate profit and loss it's just $1 per contract for each .001 change in rates. You can add a contract for every $81.25 you have in your account. If you account goes below that level then you have to close one of your contracts.

    Only good for swing trading with a small acct. The tick size is too small to earn a living intraday trading and you can't really scalp.

      Which micro futures do you *swing* trade? Do you change the ones you trade in the event of a market recession?
