Musically speaking this is fantastic - as much of Neal Morse’s work - it’s a pity that the message always pisses me off. Usually makes for a cringing experience, especially at the end of his records. Which is a shame of the crescendo’s . . . cause they are gorgeous.

It is a matter of definition of context - Neal Morse see no difference between love and Divinity. Precisely as the story here outlines, it is not an actual pilgrimage - it is an inner journey to find the eternal home - divinity. It cannot be fathomed by the intellect - it is experiential. So Neal Morse is merely expressing gratitiude for the love he rexieves - and puts this out as beauty in music. So in essence the beauty you experience, which no scientist can explain how, Neal see as Divinity and love. Actually this story is a spiritual treatise that one goes through in awakening to the truth - the RADICAL truth - the truth that has always been, will ever be true and is true NOW -- I AM. I dont remember my birth neither do I imagine my death, all I know is that I am conscious - and consciousness is such an enormous gigantuos event that it rquires thr power of infinity. So infinity is God, and you are part of it by being conscious and experience it through love. Like gravity love shines equally on all - and this is not about opinion - it is factual. At least one admits humility to say - I DO NOT knoe if there is a God, but I am open to the revelation if his presence is the source of my existence! :) At leadt this is ad logical that the intellect can start to open up...

If you have ever seen/heard one of Neal’s sermons, you would have to conclude that he believes in a physical God, Jesus and metaphysical ‘corporate’ Holy Ghost. The wrath of God is real, and of God. Divinity is a real and tangible thing for him. That is NOT the same as love. Neal’s music isn’t just about his love pouring out. He is preaching throughout: he (or a 3rd. person) is leading a live of sin or dissolution, hits rock bottom, is being tempted, feels there is something more, gives him/herself up and over and finds the light/God/peace. That is following the gospel, not following love. I’m sorry, but in my view there is no I AM. There is only random and chance. Truth is a matter of perspective, there is no radical truth. The only truth to be had is science based evidence; and even that CAN be changed by new insights. Consciousness is a result of evolution. I agree with you that it is a wondrous and wonderful ‘thing’, but it does not require the power of infinity; just enough time. I personally could never call that love. Nothing one points to have this ability. An apple seed cannot turn into a pear tree. How can a random evolution create order? (such as scientific reasoning or society?) Everywhere we see there is order and harmony - how the weather behaves, how the planets move and how we structure our society.
