This is a pretty sweet trailer. Similar to the size and cost of a tear drop but you have a full inside trailer area! Over 500 watts of solar is insane too.
I have watched a lot of this guy's videos of the MDC's in Australia. Really great, informative videos. Really cool to see him in the states!! Cant wait for the trip videos to come out :)
Wow I am really impressed with these trailers. The suspension alone is a game changer let alone the layout and design of the trailer in general which breaks away from the traditional box on wheels.
Pretty nice for a couple, but we need a toilet, even a cassette would work. We have a 4 Runner with 5,000 pound towing capacity. This fits the bill pretty well with that one exception.
This trailer fits my personal needs. Maybe a tad short. Looks like it might even fit in an 8 foot garage. If it was available a few years ago I would have considered it. It does amaze me that trailer like this could be made in China, shipped to USA with quality componets, dealer mark ups and sell for quite a bit less than comparable us rigs. It has to boil down to the US dollar strength, mass production and a very, very cheap labor force. Update- no wet bath so comparble us rigs maybe not that much more.
Also, such and such vehicle “can tow it” is different than towing off-road. I bought a dweller 13’ to tow behind my Gladiator Rubicon based on these guys recommendations and videos. It was a nightmare off-road! Be careful what you choose based on where you’re trying to go.
They are not made in the same factory. MDC had been manufacturing for 19 years. OBI has been around for 2-3 years. They are very different when you dig into them. MDC is much higher quality.
@@ROAOffRoad Still made in China. Not sure how they are “higher” quality when they use the same construction and components. You guys swore OBI was high quality too when you introduced them, but they aren’t selling.
@@ROAOffRoadI'm just trying to interpret what I heard. It sound like it started out "queen" and ended like "king". I have no idea how it was spelled when it was said out loud.
My wife and I are coming into the market for a trailer for our Gladiator. We love the Forte 9, however no air conditioner? We live on the Gulf Coast in Texas so that’s a must.
Love the trailer inside. Outside styling needs some help. Blackout version needed...decals and outside looks like an 80s throwback. And not in a good way.
@ROAOffRoad did not realize that but makes since. Unfortunately I would have not considered this. Is there a model that is just a bit longer with wet bath that is under 8 feet tall but still be under 5k gwr?
The really cool thing about the Forte 9 is that it can store under 8ft, only 3000 pounds and you can stand up in it. And the added storage and table bench area is nice for eating and doing remote work. Included annex room as well that really expands the space
These aussies don’t know what an HVAC is. If they want to sell their off road trailers here in the US, they should start thinking about off grid off road and not just off road. Put a 12 volt AC and more Lithium batteries and you’ll be more interesting but right now my fellow off roaders campers and myself will pass. Also, ridiculous names and cheesy graphics is really a no go. They should copy Bruder or Lifestyle Campers and learn from them, they know how to make real off grid campers that fit the US weather, geography and needs of the US market and their campers don’t look like a camper from the 80’s.
They don’t look like campers from the 80s? The insides are very modern and just as nice as Bruder or any other trailer on the market. The outside decals can be changed easily. Also to compare them to trailers that are $150k to $200k is kinda unfair when these trailers cost $30-$60k. Your pretty negative. The only thing that you point out that should be taken seriously is the outside decals being a little too much. Adding more battery is easy if you pay for it. Also, I think you should only speak for yourself and not others. 😄
Yo do realize that Australia has more off grid area than the Usa, There are 25 million Australians and 350 million Americans. The land size is the similar to continental USA
Man that annex enclosure is a game changer!
Ditto, the trailer is small but my wife would love sitting out in the screen room in front of our Zero Breeze 😅

Thanks for the comment. He is super smart and hoot too! 😆
He can be a bit fisty on FB groups. Other dude needs to be a bit more up front on were these rigs are manufactured
Can’t wait to get the Forte9+ at ROA SOUTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!!
No offense Randy, but my garage needs it more. :P

Just ordered one of these.
Perfect for my touring needs.
Big van features in a compact package.
Nice caravan great for a couple looks awesome.

Yes it is below 8ft. It is a great floor plan and being able to stand up in it comfortably is awesome 😊
awesome 👍👍
Thanks 🤗
This has to be made in the same Chinese factory as OBI Dwellers. We had one and the outer construction and various parts are identical.

14:41 does anyone else hear "This is a kwing size bed"?
If you spell it Kwing that would be pronounced queen.

We will be able to add a A/C with no issues. 😀

Did I blink and miss the shower enclosure, &/or AC unit?
it has an outside shower room that attaches to the side.
We can option an AC unit but this unit didn’t have one. 😀
@@ROAOffRoad Thank you!! Please, what are the general AC options: window unit or one on the roof?
@@pytheus window style.

Looked like you akipped the bathroom
There is no bathroom on this unit

They have a 12ft model with an indoor kitchen and wet bath. But it’s over 8 feet tall www.mdcusa.com/product/dealer-xt12hr-overland-travel-trailer/

Pretty sure Australians know what HVAC is considering a far higher percentage live in a hot climate compared to the US.
Not a real overlanding trailer
Why?
