Step 1: use water and ice shield around entire skylight before installing shingles and flashing. That felt isn't gonna hold up as well as a moisture barrier like water and ice shield will..
@@harleygraf4700 you don't nail the flashing to the skylight? this is how skylights are done. if it was a wall/dormer or anything then you'd nail it to the wall and carry on. lmfao simpletons
Been in construction for 47 years, Nice video, no BS right to the point !!! Thank you
Scott, thank you for posting this video (part 1 and 2). This really helped me when I needed to fix my skylight.

This is a great video. Going to show this to the roofer that did my grandpa's roof. No flashing on skylights or cooler penetrations. Total joke.

Never nail roof side of flashing They give u small nails to nail it to the skylight
nail guns are a no no trashy way of installing a roof ,,you wouldn't get away with that here on Texas Gulf coast
This video is how NOT to flash...
Never nail that close to the wall... Never.... Idgaf what method u got
Right? And nailing through the metal and shingle is a no no
It’s a skylight. No wall in sight. Furthermore the nails are to the outside edge of the flashing. Perhaps you might review manufacturers instructions
