I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to also have a hand crank on there. That way if I wanted to take the Featherweight off the treadle table to go to a friend's house, I could hand crank it while I'm there.

This is fantastic! I wanted to do this awhile back but didn’t know about this so I bought a beautiful treadle machine and I love her! But I would love to be able to have my featherweight also treadle. Thank you for this info.
What a great "invention"! I have two treadle machines, a Pfaff and a Singer, but I love the idea of using the Singer cabinet to treadle one of my Featherweights. As far as the light goes, I have a small magnetic, battery operated bbq grill light that I use. I attach it to the face plate. It swivels some so you can point it right at the needle area for easy, lighted viewing. I saw it on someone's blog a couple of years ago and found them at Home Depot. My aging eyes need light more and more every day.
I have the treadle (from my mom) and a couple of FWs and, sad to say, haven't done much sewing in too-many decades. Loved watching the conversion! TY!

Question Does the treadle cabinet have to be a singer? I found an old "Home treadle cabinet" with machine by the road one day and snatched it up. Would the treadle conversion kit work on it so that I can use with my singer featherweight???
Can this treadle kit be added ton a hand cranked (non-motorized) Singer?
Can you use the reverse in this mode?
My wife just pick me up one of these mine is missing the belt do you have any idea what type of belt it takes maybe where I can get one
Will this adapter work w/ a 301/301A or a 403A/404? A 301 Treadle would be equally as awesome!
