Loving the calab, you can see the joy in Taku's face when he met his Hiro. Excellent job guys, you have an abundance of knowledge and expertise. TY TY TY for sharing.
Been watching Fishermans life and out door chef life and this channel for so long separately, I damn near lost it when I saw Hiro standing next to Taku in his video and have been waiting for your upload.
Thank you for watching...they are great guys and know so much and we have been working on this for a long time. I was not have the fast speed to upload the videos and there was a little delay. The next video will be great as we made some really amazing sushi on the coast which you have seen from Taku's channel. We will present a different view.
I love this video! mad respect to Hiro and Taku! i watch your channel always! jealous for the rich foraging! cant wait to see this next episode! crab is my favorite!
Thank you again so much...I think you will like the next episode also. but there are some live crabs in those videos that I must dispatch. The meal was so so good though :)

It so great to see u guys really having fun in cali... Good stuff u guys been doing... Hope u guys come for dungeness crab season next time and those uni are more tasty when u catch them the sweetness of the ocean
if you like warm seafood, try barbara's fish trap. it's about a mile or so from you. their chowder is great, along with the fish trap plate. very old school.
That was a very smart move not climbing up the kelpy rock. That stuff is slick as snot and you'll bust your ass - or your melon - if you aren't used to the area. I am really glad you guys didn't try it. You were just about 30 miles north of my area in Santa Cruz and I sometimes head up that far looking for surf (although usually not north of Ano Nuevo). I encourage people to eat all the urchins they can find (limit is 40/person/day). Not only is it good for you and tasty ("nutritious & delicious!"), but urchins are voracious kelp eaters and thus destroy the ecosystem. Early in the 20th Century when otters were hunted to extinction in the Monterey Bay, the urchins ate the kelp down to where the Bay was nearly devoid of it and hence had very little sea life in the area. A family colony of otters were found down in Big Sur and some were transported north to the Monterey Bay to form a breeding colony to eat the urchins and keep them in check (otters are thus a foundation species). We now have a few hundred throughout the Bay, the kelp rebounded, and fish and marine mammals returned to the Bay to make it the marvelous abundance of sea life that it is today. You two should have taken a day to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium down in Monterey to check out one of the best aquariums in the world (it was in "Star Trek: The Voyage Home") and see exhibits of all we have in our fantastic bay with one of the deepest submarine canyons in the world.
Thank you again Eric for your comment! I was reading the limit was unlimited as of May of last year due to what the urchins were doing to the kelp as you mentioned. About climbing up that ridge...I told Hiro don't even try it...there's nothing to hold on to and nothing to step up on either; a very difficult task even for the average person. I have been to that aquarium many years ago and must make a stop one day with Hiro....Thank you for being here :)
Thank you, excellent video. Nice to see you on this side of the continent. You should come up to BC Canada for some super duper seafood...! Cheers and thanks...!
Much support much love ❤️ watching your show and watching the great thing you cook and be coming up wit I learn much from you that I use in my everyday cooking you made me want to start my on show

it was not so easy this time...hiking and walking in the rocks and seaweed area...actually very difficult and dangerous too. but in the end was really nice time.
Should have broke it in half, not sure why hes slowly cracking it in is hand. Where im from we have black urchins with spines longer than the body and you have to break the spines off because they are venomous and extremely sharp, you cannot touch it without getting stabbed
