hey monkeh. slightly unrelated but was hoping for some hornet insight! so i just bought a 2007 600 hornet. 10000 miles full service and mot in the deal. in getting like a whirling/whistle when engine breaking. dissapesrs when I get back on the gas or pull the clutch in. hapoends in every gear at all rev ranges u ever have that on your old bike?? but worried something's wrong....
I'm afraid I never had that noise on mine, so can't offer any advice. The only strange noise I used to get was caused by the the plastic around the speedo vibrating at idle. Hope it's nothing serious!

Fuck me man that's my biggest pet peeve when driving. Blue flashing lights???! Better fucking stop right where I am and block this fucking roundabout so they take even longer getting round!! Just put your fucking foot down or slow down enough to create a gap they can jump into to over/undertake!!!

I get what your saying about certain speeds when it's safe to do. Unfortunately some people can't be trusted to use common sense when assessing their surroundings so they have to have a speed limit.
Hah, not seen that. Luckily I've got the option for the speed awareness course so no points for me!
After 21 years driving and 5 years on a motorbike I got my first speeding penalty of 3 points and £100 fine in Rye. They changed the speed limit of a road from 40 to 30 by removing the 40 signs but never put up any 30 signs to let us know.
The dodgy fuckers (police) then sat at a national speed limit sign waiting to catch people either going over 30 towards the national speed limit or not getting down to 30 coming out of the national speed limit.
They also got me on a day when I was on the way from Rye to the conquest hospital in Hastings for chemotherapy and Udimore road was closed for roadworks so I had been delayed and diverted.
I'm not bitter though... grrrrrr
Sneaky buggers! There are some great roads down towards Hastings, I drive down to Conquest for work quite often, not gotten around to taking the bike down there yet. (Apart from last years May Day Run). Hope the whole cancer thing got sorted. I used to work in the labs where they did the diagnosis, I've got a vid on it if your interested to see what happened to any biopsies you had taken - My Job - A Biomedical Scientist in Histopathology .
Thanks for the offer. It's leukaemia so the biopsies were bone marrow which was fun but I'm not keen on seeing what happened to the biopsies after they were taken. The roads in the area are great, especially between Rye and Ashford but the local police are killjoys.
My 3 points come off in September this year so I don't want any more!
Ouch, I've seen the Trephines they use for the Bone Marrow Trephines, scary looking things! Yeah some nice roads down that way, around Camber Sands, will try get down there in the summer.

I allllll the time see it go down to 40mph on the M25 and its really annoying, I also use the M20 and live near the M11 in essex and those don't seem to be affected by this smart motorway thing
