    OneControl's Baltic Blue Fuzz takes all the cool sounds from the Muffs of yore and tightly packs them into this rather fetching little pedal. Bjorn Juhl, mastermind at BJF is behind the line along with the engineers and manufacturing team at Japan's OneControl. These pedals kick serious butt and this one is no exception. As a further bonus, you should visit the link above for a short but enlightening essay on the history of fuzz.

    Best fuzz I've heard in a while, and that AxeFx tone is just killer!

    Wow! That sounds great with the delay added especially.

    That sounds awesome! Very much like the JHS angry Charlie. I don't tend to like most fuzz pedals, but this is on my short list of likes!

    Great muff!

    I have a big muff triangle and that is just too scooped and high gain. Not that useful. Found one of these used on a trading site today, not sure if I'll get it but let's see. It does sound fantastic - more musical, better gain range, good tone control... I will definitely sell the triangle if I'm able to get my hands on this one instead. Thanks for a great demo! 👍

    Perfect for modern Gilmour tones.

      Me and a buddy did our own little shootout of various muffs we have a few months ago specifically for a Gilmour tone (used flangers, delays, etc) and this pedal was a pretty clear winner. It really does have this midrange quality to it during a sustaining note that is pure Gilmour. Sorta nasally, sorta vocal tone from this machine which works great when bending into a sustaining note. The note sounds like "owwwww" if that makes sense lol. But yeah, definitely Gilmour and has killer lower gain tones as well. Very crunchy.

    Hey Brett. I Must Ask a Difficult Question. How does this compare to your Prized Noel Cornet Fuzz ? I'd Love to hear your Expert & Insightful Opinion. Thanks Brother. - Michael Caz - NYC -

      Hey Michael. This one compares pretty favourably, actually. It's perhaps a touch more aggressive with a bitier harmonic content, but its tone control and mid shaping is actually superior to the Cornet. Recommended. And a lot easier to procure! :)

    Hi. Where do you like it best positioned? At the moment I have it connected like: Guitar->Xotic WH1->BBF-TC Polytune3.... I tried several positions, changing order and can not see that much of a difference, What do you suggest? Asking because I will be moving to MIDI switcher...

    Brett, you always seem to be using the perfect reverb, what is it?

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  8 років тому +1

      Thanks. I usually go for little room reverb to give the dry track some space. In this case it was "Recording Studio C", one of the best algorithms in the Axe-FX software. I dial in just a little, about 12% mix.

    Could you do a demo of this, with those exact reverbs and great fuzz tones, but use your 8-string?? :)

      Unfortunately I cannot unless they send me another pedal. This one was sold to pay for the day's work. That's the hard part of my job - having to move on the good ones.

    That lead break at the end. What is it? It's on the tip of my tongue but I just can't remember the name of the song. ARGHHH!!! Nice pedal though.

      Never mind. The penny finally dropped. Comfortably Numb (or for legal reasons, something that sounds a bit like it).

    • @BrettKingman
      @BrettKingman  8 років тому +1

      I'm not selling them, Ben. Just the messenger. I think they're running around US$150 or thereabouts but I'll take advice on that front from OC.
