We're checking out the Anodized Brown Distortion, from One Control. Bjorn Juhl is at the helm of the Anodized Brown, and he designed the circuit as an exploration of distorted tone, as well as an exercise in re-establishing distortion pedals to their former glory. He realized that great distorted tone goes beyond slamming the front end of your amp with gain, and instead needs to be realized before your signal hits the tubes. Rather than creating the front end of an amp, Bjorn sought to create the preamp and the power amp in the same pedal, creating an all-in-one amp in a box that provides you with a plethora of distortion options. High-output tube amps all feature a familiar touch response, as well as a high dynamic range, and the Anodized Brown has both in spades. The gain range of the pedal swings from 26 to 60 decibels, for a natural sounding distortion at both ends. With the Gain knob set low, you can achieve a lightly pushed amp tone with ease, without any unnatural artifacts or unwanted crispiness. A well-balanced Tone control dials in the right amount of brightness, while phasing out flubby low end or trebly buzz, keeping the Anodized Brown tight and focused no matter what. The Anodized Brown accepts as low as 6 and as high 18 volts, for a variac-like effect that increases as the voltage is lowered, and it also accepts a battery for the ultimate grab-and-go dirt section.
Thank God for Andy playing songs and not just wailing all the way through! good to hear how things sound for the 95% of the song we won't be showing off ;)
When a demo starts with Rage you know it's going to be great!
I recently got one of these pedals and man... what a great pedal it is... the tone knob has a lot of range... so does the gain knob... killer pedal.
I like these little pedals
Great tone in the opening riff! I also like the note clarity with the Legacy.
wich song ?!
Rage Against The Machine - Freedom
thank you :)
Man I love all these pedals, and I will buy something., but I just don't understand loopers. Thanks for playing the Rumble thing...
How about the Friedman BE-OD? I haven't seen any reputable reviews aside from Pete Thorn's.
great!
Andy knows that that song was played on a good ol' telecaster
was just going to say that!
Sweet.
Is it just me or does anyone else see 3 controls on this pedal?
Nah man. Just your imagination.
What kinda drugs you on?
you are crazy , go and see a doctor
I get your "Dad" joke.
Thanks, guess I need to get my eyes checked out.
FREEDOM!!!
This or the Purple Plexifier ?
anyone know what this song name is?
Brotha, did ya forget ya name?
Did ya lose it on the wall
Playin' tic-tac-toe?
FREEDOM
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH
Freedom by RATM, nice!
what cables are they using for the demo?
Herbert .Gatchalian look like Bullet Cables. I have one of their coily cables...nice but pretty heavy
♥
Can it be powered by a 9 volt battery?
Yes it does!
Yes it does?! (wonder where I learned grammar...) Yes, it can be powered by 9v battery...
+Enzo Bardoul thanks. I don't like using power supplies at gigs
Again, this looks like more than one control
notice the amp has been set with almost zero bass and a lot of treble??
Where?
listen to the sound when the pedal is off
These sound great, but the housing graphics are just awful
That has always been BJF's thing. Check out the hand painted Barefoot FX and BJFe pedals. It's not about the graphics it's all about the tone!
RAGE!
