I still love how the dreadnaught has "United Federation of Planets" on it, dead middle, as if saying, "This butt kicking brought to you by "The blue flag science guys." and I really enjoy those little human moments. "Peaceful yes, we also carry a big stick, and ours is labeled." 😂 Thanks for the wonderful and enjoyable content and the constant place of remembering what makes Trek beautiful in the first place: The people, the stories, the ship; life.

Here's an interesting story for you all.
Back in the early 90s I worked at a small high end lithography company in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Digital printing technology was in its early days and I went from being a plate maker to working with Photoshop and other design programs.
One day I was in the basement storage room putting physical film for a few customer jobs to keep for future use.
While going through the racks I came to the area that we kept printed materials, mostly boxes of books with the book covers cut from a copy and taped to the top of the box to ID the contents. One box had a black cover with white lettering titled Ships of the Federation, if I remember correctly.
It was a design of the Akyazi class ship and variations. I grabbed one of the 40 copies and enjoy it still.
I believe it was designed and sold through a CAD/Architecting firm in Wilbraham, Massachusetts.

I am obsessed with the Belknap class. The Phobos class is another favorite. There is another I have seen recently that I don't know the name of but it is a movie era Akria class.

My favorite Beta Canon is the Fed dreadnaught, with the Fed tug a close second.
My favorite in Starfleet Battles is the Fed Heavy Carrier. I know you didn't ask for SFB, but man, I love that carrier.

I love the Erebus. It's the unheralded lovechild between an NX class and the Sovereign class.

I still think that a Ptolemy class ship with a weaponized cargo module could be a real nasty surprise for anyone intent in engaging commerce raiding.
replace the cargo module with a torpedo launching pod😊

Heehee, brought back a number of memories of playing FASA Trek way back when. :) Now I wonder if you've ever seen the Ascension class dreadnought.
I'm partial to a number of the FASA ships: Chandley Class, Baker Class, Larson Class. I also like the Hermes, Saladin, Ptolemy and Dreadnought Classes from the original Technical manual.

The Baud Class makes me chuckle regarding its name and purpose, and it reminds me of a modern day AWACS like a Hawkeye.

Growing up one of my favorite video games was Star Trek: Legacy, and my favorite ship from that game was the Proxima-class. It was like a Federation-class but bigger and meaner, I'm a sucker for 4-nacelle designs, and there was something about the catamaran hull that just spoke to me.
It just makes more sense for the UFP to have a HEAVILY armed, but peaceful, starfleet. 🤷♂️
At least you'd think it would ;)

_Star Trek III: The Search for Spock_ introduced use to the Excelsior class. I confess to not being a big fan of the movie version, but there was a blueprint version that I loved. Much more angular than the movie, it had a couple of mega-phaser emplacements on each strut of the nacelles at the elbow. Supposedly, these would be powered by the same energy flow that go to the warp nacelles. I admit there were a couple of issues with the design (no point the space at the bottom), but overall I thought it was really cool.
my favorite beta cannon fed ship would have to be the Proxima, Klingons-- Qeh'Ral, and Romulans-- Griffin

If we're counting fanon designs then god I love the Powhatan and Bison classes from Starfleet Museum. They're genuinely top-notch designs. If we're going for beta canon-only, I won't lie the favourites of mine are split between the Derf class and the Jefferies Class (the old Phase 2 Connie). They're both wonderful ships in their own right.
I gotta say that i like the Iowa class better than the Kelvin design. It just fits better into that timeline.
The NX-01 refit as made cannon in Star Trek Picard at the Fleet Museum. Which I'm sure you're aware of.

The Starliner makes me wonder if. I can't remember the name of the Vulcan on Enterprise, if her grandma's friend that stayed behind on Earth had anything to do with that design.

But you had a series of videos maybe just a couple parts long that was similar to this video but not a top 10 it just gave information on TOS designs that were mostly beta cannon. Im pretty sure it was you as your style and voice are pretty unique.
Well im sorry to tell you, but all Truth or Myth Beta episodes are still on this channel... It was the early Alpha work that I got rid of...
@TriAngulumStudiosAudioComics huh i could have sworn. I know these videos were older when i watched them a couple years ago. I remember the thumbnail was one of your animated one where all the ships pointed at a diagonal abd they were tos ships. It very much could have been someone else either with a similar style or im combining two things. I just remember watching the video over and over again but oh well im either crazy or wrong lol

Why did the dreadnought have the deflector in the back? Wasn't the point to project a shield in front of the ship to keep mico meteors from hitting it? 🤔

I always liked the dreadnought as well, but it never made sense to have the deflection dish on the back. I mean you’re trying to deflect all kinds of things so you don’t like get your ship full of Swiss cheese holes

I doubt that will ever happen, as they don't own the license to the design, and doubtful they'd pay for it!

10. Detroyat. Not as honking weird as the Monoceros but out of that design aesthetic. Acceptable. Its legacy would be 201 Pacific (great ship, mediocre story).
9. Baud. Ugh. Star Trek and Babylon 5 had a really ugly baby here.
8. Erebus. I like. This would have made a better Sombra-class design than what we were given in SNW. Like the rotated nacelles.
7. Wasp. I like triremes (three nacelle designs). Once retired from Fleet, the type is perfect for long-haul cargo (non containerized) runs.
6. Love the Akyazi class. Fits the bill for "lighter but more numerous unit, deployed in packs"
5. Declaration. Not a favorite.
4. Iowa. Like the design as a precursor of the Einstein, but not the naming. It's not a battlewagon, shouldn't share the name. Dubuque-class, I could see.
3. NX Refit. I loathe this. Clearly forcing the design to fit a predetermined mold WAY too soon.
2. Ptolemy. Would have been closer to the bottom of my personal list, but still on it.
HM. Loknar & Larson. I had other FASA designs I liked better, mostly the Andorian ones...Northampton, Thufir, Andor
1. Federation. Yes. I'd have the FJS Decatur/Belknap and Ascension classes listed here, put them in the _Sombra_ "fast cruiser" design legacy of current canon
My opinions on each one...
The Detroyat Class. I totally has a charm to her, even with the blocky hull.
The Baud Class. Again agreement, looks like a Constitution that has been modified for a purpose. It works.
The Erebus Class. Some some really interesting detailing with the hull but also has styling on the nacelles like an NX. Like it.
The Wasp Class. No. Just No.
They Akyazi class. Stunning. Moving from the Refit technology to the Excelsior era... with style!
The Starliner. Although designed well before Enterprise show,. I like how it used the Vulcan loop design. Even though the time doesn't make sense.
The Iowa Class. Not really a fan of single nacelle ships but don't hate this one.
The NX Refit. Even though the NX has certain aesthetic aspects of the Akira, I didn't like it. But.. with the secondary hull she looks stunning!
The Ptolemy. It makes sense in-universe and fits in well with the TOS designs.
The Dreadnaught. Three nacelles. Not a fan even though she fits in with the aesthetic. The Proxima Battleship from Star Trek: Legacy in nicer.
Well you cant please everyone, on everything, 100% of the time! :P
Hate to say this but one item you have lied about and so has other star trek channels and that is the show Enterprise had only 3 seasons. I know this because I watch the show from the beginning to the end, plus I have the DVD collection and it has only 3 seasons in it. Other than that one mistake, you have a great channel.
