KCD 2 being an improved version upon the original with new content is all I needed to know and most people who enjoyed the first one seem to share this sentiment. This is the ideal outcome I hoped for.
he gave it an Innkeeper Betty out of 10
You smell like a badger.
OMG the voice acting on her is so funny, 1 minute shes from Yorkshire, next minute shes from Jamaica
Yes i just commented about this too and then saw your comment. So funny
I’m just under 10 hours and absolutely loving it so far.
Went on the quest to find Mutt the dog. Simple enough in most games but I ended up investigating the disappearance of somebody’s daughter and then helping a hunter from wolves and dealing with poachers. All it felt so natural and made what would normally be a mundane side-quest into an epic journey.
@@BAZ8900 the wolves honestly scared the hell outta me up until I found out you can use a counter attack on them. Super happy they made hostile fauna this time around 👌
Could you imagine if Warhorse got a crack at Deus Ex! 😍
AAA in 2015 is just a benchmark of budget, rather than a guarantee of quality.
Thankfully KCD 2 exceeds the vast majority of AAA releases.
I've been playing for about 15 hours, and in the first three hours, I just made plenty of potions to sell. 😅😂 I bought the best horse from the first horse vendor, along with the best saddle and other gear for the horse. I still have lots of money left! 😊
Herbalist Henry knows how to make money, just like in the first game. 😂 Now it's much easier and more fun to progress since I have a horse and plenty of carrying capacity! 😊
KCD2 has been incredible for me after 10 hours. I’m having so much fun.
Mod community is cooking too, instant herb picking is 10/10 QOL, saviour schnapps got demolished with quick saving, merchants have more money (not just money from Henry's interactions)..oh man. It's so good.
@@Rikitikisiki yeah I personally cannot live without 3x inventory weight
Very good game, it’s like it starts off instantly hard and you get frustrated, but then as you move on the more you develop and it’s incredible.
KCD was one of the most immersive games I've ever played. KCD2 fixed a shit ton of stuff I had issues with on KCD and I can say KCD2, it is one of the best games I've ever played.
In KCD 2 it's so enjoyable to just do nothing... that's down to it's unparalleled immersive quality, just walking in the forrest picking herbs, hunting game, watching people live their lives it's just remarkable! Another thing I love is that everything across the board is prioritised in terms of gameplay, combat, choices and narrative, I hate when devs say it's a "narrative driven" RPG it just triggers me lol yes narrative is important but like I said with my first point if the moment to moment gameplay isn't enjoyable like just walking around and the
system doesn't sing you loose me very quickly I'm looking at you FF16, Veilguard, Stanfield the list goes on.
This game is a good example of when controversy doesn't matter in the slightest if the game is good
I just started the first one!
Path of exile 2 and KCD 2 both have that AAA quality with a AA vibe and it makes for 2 special games
Hoping that KCD becomes a new benchmark for these kinds games.
played from when it dropped until 2 am, so i got 15 hours yesterday and iv been playing since i woke up this morning hahaha its the same as the first just way more polished
Can we swap lives 😂 I've played 3 hours so far and probably won't get much more time in until the weekend.
I'm gonna let Cohh cook this a little before I start watching. It's painful to wait, but I know it'll be worth it.
Game of the year 2025... Just GTA6 could be a competitor, but otherwise it is addicting and perfect. Smithing is so fun, the forests are the best in gaming history, i could go on and on... 10/10!
Was watching Dr disrespect earlier and he was getting mad and skipping cut scenes outta boredom and I couldn’t understand why he was even playing.
A pearl before swine.
@@SuperOrangeSauce literally any time I see this Dr guy come up online I can't help but wonder why would anyone care about his content at all. My only theory so far is impressionable young people.
He's still... a thing?
It is such an incredible game. I love living in this world.
My only issue this far is hating that clicking in the sticks on controller activates the photo mode. I’m trying to sword fight and accidentally going into photo mode, which guarantees I get hit when I turn it off and reorient the camera.
I could play on mouse and keyboard but that’s not how I enjoy games like this.
Am I the only one using the 'Save and exit' option every 5 minutes?
Savior schnapps were the only thing I felt the need to mod in the first game. I absolutely hated my quick save being tied to a consumable and found a mod that allowed you to use them an unlimited number of times. I didn't save scum with them, but I did want the ability to save whenever I want without having to worry about running out.
@@Kinjara Hi, I play on PS5 so no modding for me. But the ability to 'save and exit' unlimited times makes my Farkle games a bit easier compared with the first game. If you win it's ok, if you lose just reload. It takes out some of the excitement I guess, but it's an option I cannot pass on.
it loads fast enough allright
why not just pick some herbs and brew some schnapps instead? level up alchemy and you can make money with it.
I haven't tried alchemy in KCD2 but in the first savior schnapps were super easy/cheap to make, just expensive as all hell to buy.
It's not kcd1 improved.Its kcd1 on steroids
I agree mostly but some of the VA is hilarious. The older lady that you meet that runs the tavern that gives you the job to carry the sacks has great VA in the cut scenes but during the conversation, OMG its so funny. And that's only the beginning of the game. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest after that convo. Also some of Henry's VA is weird too but in a funny way
Yeah the little quirky VA moments and sometimes hilarious face animations during interactions just adds even more personality to the game imo
I see Cohh vid, I watch Cohh vid.
❤❤❤
It's probably not intended this way, but "AAA" feels like a backhanded compliment these days.
Yeah AAA is associated with some crappy publishers these days
Only if you say "North American AAA"
You know what this game needs? jousting tournament DLC with it's own little story from 0 to hero and then repetable tournament and gear for your horse.
Why?
"Pointy stick make man fall from horse"
"AAA" really is an insult in 2025 lol
☝️
I actually bought the game based on your preview! But appreciate the thoughts video regardless
I hope the combat camera has been improved
@WiillPlay it definitely has been!
It is. As someone who loved the first one, but could never get into the combat even after 200 hours. The stupid slow and spacey-ness feeling of combat is gone. And this time for controllers they remembered that they actually have vibration in them that they can use to make animations have more weight.
But If you don’t like the having to attack and block with purpose while managing stamina and following enemy sword movement, you’ll probably will still not like it, but it’s that same system, completely cleaned up.
He can safely say
good to know ,thanks for this service we need some good games
Love the game so far.
Except that one quest...
God be with you Cohh!
must i play kcd 1 first?
@aalodar i recommend it. It's not necessary though. The game does a great job filling in new players on what's going on in the world. There are just some characters and story beats that might not make sense right away if you haven't played the first one.
There are some good recap vids on youtube. 20 mins of time investment and everything makes way more sense, it's what I did.
"Triple A voice acting" lol no. Some of the characters? Sure. But I can point to several inn keepers and side quest npc's who sound like some one from the office on their lunch break.
@@Dinvan Yeah but that's how people sound irl too. It's done on purpose.
Only thing that grinds my gears is the combat system when overrun with enemies and the lack of saves. F5 save Mod has saved my life. I don’t have time to waste on doing everything again!. If you’re a busy person. Get the unlimited save mod!. Also I’m waiting for a better combat system mod!
the lockpicking is terrible. the combat is slightly better than the first game but still not good. the stealth is meh. the pickpocketing is meh. they shouldve done away with the saviour schnapps entirely. they could've made this game truly great but instead stuck to their guns when it came to their shortcomings from the first game. this game is literally harder than a soulslike at time simply because some of its mechanics are severely annoying
the only critique i have is combat against animals like dogs and wolfs. i use a sword and shield and it is impossible to block them. the character just won't use the shield to block the bites and more often than not they get you into a stun lock until you are dead. especially if you are against multiple of them at once.
i'm now almost 15 hours in and combat is still the main reason why i quit the game for a break. i know i'm just character skill level checked for most things where i die because the character get's into animations that signal that my intented action failed. this feels really frustrating.
another thing is combat against random bandits. if i notice them first i set a save spot and then just run into them until my opening swings get the strongest one good enough to win the fight. once the strong bandit get's into attacking then i'm 9 : 10 times dead within 10 seconds without anything that i can do because my stamina just disappears without me doing anything and then i just get combod to death.
good thing is that i went into alchemy and have now over 30 of the save potions so saving doesn't matter anymore.
To me this sounds like you need to work on your positioning. In KCD it’s really important not to get surrounded so if there are multiple enemies, you need to move in a way that will prevent you from being stabbed in the back.
You just said you ran, voluntarily, into a group of bandits and couldn't do much/anything... This is not a hack n' slash or something. And as already said, positioning is key...
Secondly, group fights ain't something you would be doing early game either.
To run into fights like this, you also would need some plate armor or similar.
Getting hit does damage your stamina as well...
I'm not trying to play a 'git gud' here, but this game requires a bit of patience in the 'grinding' of stats and armor earlier on
@ minor gameplay spoilers warning. what i mostly mean is that even in early game you get quests where you end up fighting against a bandit camp or wolf pack and these are just painful or near impossible to finish without going somewhere else first and level up. to find mutt i had to fight multiple wolf packs and some bandit camps.
you can't expect people to just run and lose reputation for each of these just because the player is a bit underleveled/bad geared.
fighting with a sword and shield is worse against wolfs than going unarmed against them. where does that make sense.
Whatever happened to AAAA games lol
The "AAA voiceacting" part is probably the only thing I have to disagree with you on, atleast when it comes to the minor side characters. But I love Kingdom come 1 in spite of such things and this is so far a marvelous continuation into the world of KCD!
I mean most AAA games side characters aren’t even voiced well. But all the main characters are def AAA level and I would argue most of the side characters are high quality BA. But triple AAA voice acting also means everything is just fully voiced and not having multiple people do the voices. This is for the second game btw not the first
I’m in the camp of way to slow for me based on watching play throughs on line. I guess it’s different actually playing it but watching it makes me not want to play it.
Why is Hans gay tho it makes no sense
Hold on, I will call Phil Collins and ask him.
You care too much about this, could you be … ?
Bi would make sense
@@omensoffate By the way have you played through the game up to a part where Hans just comes out? Is that really a part of the game or you just repeat bs you read somewhere on reddit?
@@kasuo7039That's not how it works. I care about grocery prices a lot, but I'm not an economist.
AAA voice acting? Half of it is AI. I expect better from you.
10hrs???? bro it takes 3-5 just for the prologue...give it 50-70hrs before you speak
@@scottgust9709 Bro... Just read the title of the video. Why is it called "Early thoughts" ? If you play 50 to 70hrs a game , even a RPG it's not Early thoughts anymore...
use some of those hours to read the title xD
MY PERSONAL REVIEW SO FAR...
THE GOOD:
Visuals are amazing, so real it's near photo quality.
THE BAD:
Combat is slow, boring, too difficult, frustrating and hair pulling. Menus are too confusing and difficult for beginners to understand and even know how to navigate. Making the sensory overload lead to wanting to just quit. World is too empty, leading to extreme boredom, as I can only take so much of green grass fields, trees and small lakes. Too much data was wasted on CGI sequences, leading me to believe the devs thought they were making a movie and not a game. Leading to an unnecessarily bloated file size. Frame rate is terrible, they chose the worst engine possible to run this game on, which is resource hungry.
FINAL SCORE: 4/10
Combat difficult?😂😂 u must be kidding right? Even the first game was harder
@XtremeXbox combat is subjective, but it would be hard to be slow, boring, and too difficult. Menu is definitely a valid complaint, but it will get a lot easier to navigate. The rest of your complaints are either bad or factually incorrect.
@@dark_winter8238
//but it would be hard to be slow, boring, and too difficult//
Not too hard obviously, because it is.
//The rest of your complaints are either bad or factually incorrect.//
False, they're based on ''personal'' views. Which what all reviews are...SUBJECTIVE. All based on personal OPINION. My views may change the more I play. I will have to wait and see. I paid for the deluxe so I'm not gonna just stop playing after all that money. I will give it more than a fair shake and see if it can change my mind.
