Still tired of hearing about Cleveland Gary's phantom TD. Even if it was a TD (or at least 1st down) the refs made up for it later by awarding Miami a TD on what should've been a trapped ball or incomplete pass on their last TD.
@cgh7337....phantom TD my @ss... .you had to be blind like the zebras working the not to see that ball well over the line....... you racist ND fans give God a bad name.....
The Cleveland Gary play was not the first down but the touchdown. Gary put the ball over the goal line and the refs called it a fumble but Gary put the ball on the ground himself he was down. Jimmy was complaining about that. Musberger doesn't know what he is talking about. Great game wish we had more rivalries now.
The Canes turned the ball over 6 times against the school that says they are holier than though but calls a team Convicts since they are so catholic...
@@jwim3969 I saw that on slow motion replay too, as did Johnson and Lou on a TV special years later. No one realized the last Miami TD was NEVER a TD; the receive never had possession. Screw Miami. Go Irish.
I was at that game and had “the shirt”. Best game ever. WE ARE N.D.!
Congrats to your racist institution...
@@wwilliaml619 you’re a moron.

@william walton lighten up francis!

Notre Dame kicked ass back then
Notre Dame makes me sick but I'm unbiased enough to say the 88 team was one of the best teams ever. Loaded on both sides.
They beat MORE TOP TEN teams that year that made them worthy of being in the top 10 teams of all time.
Musburger
- Faust coached at Moeller not Massillon.

And Chudzinski’s “incomplete” catch was a catch and fumble. So yeah, Miami can sit down and be quiet.

Moeller. Not Massillon.
The real question was to ask who Brent had in that game
Wow youtube so freaking greedy
We used to throw oranges at mush mouth up in the booth at the Orange Bowl. He sucked !
Notre Dame lost that game. A ref. won it for them. I can’t believe they brag about it.
And they are undefeated this year. Did a Ref do that for them too?

@regular douche the miami last TD wasn’t a catch.
And your point?

Miami buried a much better ND team in 1987. 20-0 and not that close.
1. Miami won 24-0 in the 1987 game
2. The 1988 ND team was MUCH better than the 1987 team w/ the addition of Rocket Ismail alone.
@@cgh7337 You are correct. It was 20-0 in 1983.
