- Whether you want to explore Balochistan, Pakistan's capital city of Quetta for its famous bazaars, its pretty mosques, or its natural beauty ... this should be the only list you need for a fun day or two of local sightseeing. Everything in the video is either smack dab in the heart of Quetta or within a 30-minute drive. We're going to visit 2 bustling markets (shopping for famous Quetta dried fruits + a piece of luggage for me!), 2 mosques, Pakistan's only Quran recycling facility that is a wild labyrinth of caves tucked into the 'Mountain of Light' ... and we'll visit Hanna Lake and my review of that might surprise you as I don't recommend it (although it is pretty).

Thank you for visiting and highlighting my City, Angela. And you are so right about the Hanna Lake, it was built by the British during colonial times unfortunately it has not been properly maintained. The Dam (Wali Tangi Dam) is surrounded by juniper trees on the mountains it is actually quite beautiful place to visit. Also, most people you encountered in the market and elsewhere are not used to seeing foreign tourists hence the weird reactions. I remember when I was little, foreign tourists visiting Quetta was very common before 2000. The tour guide should have taken you to the Hazarganji National Park. It is a wildlife protection Park reserved for Markhors in the mountains. Leopards have also been spotted recently in the Park. Kind Regards from Quetta

Quetta is the fruit garden of Pakistan, apart from Baloch and Balochi culture, you will see all the cultures of Pakistan right in Quetta or should I say all Pakistan's ethnicities can be found here. No matter its Punjabi Sindhi Siraiki or Pashto, even a huge population of Afghan refugees can be seen who migrated to Balochistan in the 1970s during the Soviet war in Afghanistan and the second biggest migration happened here after 9/11. almost half of Afghanistan took refuge in Balochistan. That is why you will see many of them around here.

Amazing! I'm so glad u went to Jabal-e-noor. In the last monsoon season (Aug 2020) our basement got completely flooded till the ceiling. Around 20 to 30 qurans and Islamic books got destroyed. I went all over the city (karachi) looking for someone who would take them and destroy them the proper way. This is when I found out about them and their wonderful service. Was thankful to send all the copies to them through another charity.

Since you are in Quetta, go and visit Alamdar Road as well. It's the area of Hazara Community. Their houses are built on the part of mountains and at night give quite a view.

I live just ten minutes distance away from Jable-Noorul Quran, the mountains of the nearby Jable noor mountain are truly made for tremendous hiking and the view from the top is just breathtaking, that's what I do every morning after waking up. thanks for visiting my city Ma'am....
