We own a condo in Belize and have been there for several years. The roads are slowly getting better as has the internet. Every year the grocery stores expand their inventory and selection. Restaurants continue to serve traditional foods, which can get a bit boring after a few times. The best option is to buy your own food and cook it in your place. Don't buy beef and stick to chicken or pork. If you can find fresh fish that will be your best option. Vegetables and fruit are excellent. Don't let the strange looking oranges put you off, they taste very good.
