- Happy Summer all. Join me as I share my new mixed media project, and all the glaze combos used. Spectrum, mayco, amaco, and studio glazed.

Here is the schedule.
Ramp 5 can really go as hot or as cool as you like. I used to go to 2170, but have since bumped it to 2190 and changed the hold to 8minutes. Just trying to get a little more melt.
Ramp 1 200. to 250. No hold
Ramp 2 400. to 1000. No hold
Ramp 3 180. to 1150. No hold
Ramp 4 300. to 1967. No hold
Ramp 5 120. to 2170. Hold 5 minutes
Ramp 6 125. to 1900. Hold 30 minutes
Let me know if you have any questions. You will get different glaze results on some glazes with a slow cool but it really helped me with pinholing.

Dear Lisa, it’s my first day out of the hospital and I’m laying here watching your video. You are amazing. Thank you so much for thoughts and wishes. The surgery went well and the cancer is gone. I’m ready for a bright future with lots of pottery and kiln opening videos. And I’m pretty sure that love and support has a big influence on a healing process. And that love I can feel from everyone right now. Thank you again. You are such a wonderful person ❤️
Suza, so happy the surgery is behind you. Looking forward to seeing more pottery from you
Hi Suza! I LOVE watching your videos. Your style and spirit make me smile 😊 I have cancer too. Mine almost gone. It is vile but it can be beat ❤
My prayers are with both of you through thos struggle.❤
Glad to hear you're doing well. You will be elbow deep in mud soon!
Ohhhh and I love ‘boogie pink’ hahhaa
Gawd, every time I tried to say that “b” word 😂
So many gorgeous pieces Lisa!! Gotta love the new spectrum glazes!! Just love your Pumpkin platter, love sunrise and River birch! I need to pull out my Manganese wash and play some more! Thanks for such an inspiring kiln opening I love what you do!!
Thanks Sarah and right back at ya!
It’s the flower bou-gain-vil-le-a
Thanks Lisa , newish potter from BC … I just rewired my kiln and changed the panel wiring . So happy with myself 😂 So hopefully I can try some of these now . West coast girl :)
Hello from the east coast. Good luck with your kiln! Always stressful until you get it up and running
LOL, Boogie-pink! Love it! I had to look up how to say boo-gan-veel-ee-a as well. Great pieces, and thanks for the belly laugh. I agree, that blue-green combo is the bomb!
Thank you! Some words are just tricky lol.
Hey Lisa! Wow the pumpkin plate! love it! Looks so amazing! Nice of you to shout out to the lady in Germany, I like watching her too, she is amazing and definately deserves the shout out!
Thank you Ellen!
I agree. Love Suzas interesting style!
Thanks Lisa for another fantastic video , I’m liking the seaside combo :)
Thanks Shawn! You have some beautiful pieces coming out of your studio!
@@finklepottery704 l’m learning that the clay bodies matter ! My new kiln comes in a couple weeks from Tuckers ! I was able to connect with Sarah Walton , she has a very cool setup so organized !
@@Shawn_Reid_Pottery I saw that you connected with Sarah in her video😊 small pottery world. A new kiln! There is nothing better You will love it!
Love your videos! I get so excited when a new one drops!
Glad you like them!
Love to watch and get inspired
Thanks!
Boogie pink. I like it. I think Hank Williams said “buy-oh,” and John Fogerty said “buy-yo.” And neither was from Louisiana. Lol.
Linda Ronstadt also had a hit song "Blue Bayou" and pronounced it buy-you. Also, not from Louisiana. I hear that song in my head each time this glaze is mentioned! LOL
Thanks for the clarification! Some words are tricky 😊
Thanks!
Laurie, thank you so much! I truly appreciate it and I appreciate you watching! Thanks for the help with my glaze addiction 😂
How awesome!!!!
Nice combos! The pumpkin platter is awesome! I love the little ushrooms. And Boogy pink in a much better name for that glaze. I'm gonna call it that too. I love Suza'a work as well.
Thank you!
I forgot to tell that the GREEN TURQUOISE BLUE combination ist just perfect and my absolute favorite so far. Much love Suza
Great kiln unload as usual. I have tge same RIM dilemma! LOVE the LISA COMBO! I better pull out the Pumpkin Placemat! Hahahah! Thanks again, Lisa!
Thanks Audrey!
Hey Lisa ohhh boogie pink MUST take off! Love it haha. How funny if spectrum rename it?? How gorgeous is celadon bloom? Funny vases don’t sell at my markets. Ohhhh a use for frosted turquoise!!! With soft red gorgeous!!
Hey Nat! A few of those new spectrum names are long lol. It’s interesting how different things sell in different areas or countries.
What a fabulous kiln load!! My gosh I soooo love that pumpkin tray!! And the beach pieces are amazing!!!! Your idea for the frames is pure genius!! I would have never thought to do that but I have a ton of the Iron Orchid Designs molds and I love the idea of this but on a picture frame I think. I have several slipcast molds that are frames and I can totally see doing something similar so thank you very much for the idea!!
You will have to show me the finished product when u get some made 😊
Nice kiln opening! I just bought the curry and manganese. So thank you for showing that together. I love most colors especially yellows 😊
I love all the colors too!
Love all your combos just ordered the new spectrum glaze kit today they have been out guess I will be trying the bayou glaze on holy green
The bayou is gorgeous! I think it’s my new favourite glaze 😊
You do such a beautiful job. Always
Thank you so much !
Love the pumpkin
Here you go, you’re saying it correctly. BAYOU - (pronounced Bi-Yoo) A marshy, sluggish tributary of a river or lake. 😊 I love that new boogie pink, so beautiful with the turquoise! Your combos are all gorgeous. Do you dip your river birch and honey flux or paint those on first and then dip the tops?
Hi Natalie. Thank you! I do paint on the river birch and honey flux. Sometimes I dip the tops, sometimes I paint depending on the color I want. Both work great!
Hi Lisa, Thank you for your glaze combo videos, the combos are amazing! Can you tell me if you carve your letters (PEI Girl) or are they a stamp. I am newly retired and would love to ramp up my pottery making again. Cheers from Missouri. Go Chiefs!
Hi Angela! Yes I see “go chiefs” mugs in your future lol. The letters are made with stamps from mkm stamps. I believe you can buy from them directly!
Thank you so much!
Absolutely gorgeous glaze combinations. I too love blues greens aqua turquoise etc 💙 then the opposite of these on the colour wheel.
I've never done a glaze firing I've got a cress-e1814-kiln. Done a cone 04 break in firing 🔥. Darn forgot the cone pack, the most important piece of information.
Have a collection of mayco, amaco and spectrum glazes. Loads of bisque pieces that I've made in a studio i attend fortnightly.
Trying to work out what firing i should do. IE just a cone setting with a slow medium heat and then figure out how to do a hold at the end. Eeeeeeeek there's so much to consider and learn. Most of my knowledge is from UA-cam and Google.
Any suggestions re firing, should I do a cone fire or ramp hold program??
Happy potting
Hi Evelyn, if you have a programmable kiln you could just choose a cone to fire to on a slow glaze program. A five minute hold is easy to do if you want to include as part of your firing schedule. If you have a manual kiln other potters would have better advice for you. Good luck!
@@finklepottery704thanks is a programmable kiln. I will try this. I'm sure it's easier when you are at the controller and reading the manual. I've read manual over and over and kind of understanding it all.
Thanks again
..."people addicted to kiln openings..." haha its me, you're talking about me lol 😆
Love those celadon combos with the pink! I got the mayco turquoise too to make my c.bloom go farther but its so thin, needs a lot of coats! Is the turquoise lake you use transparent like a celadon or is it more opaque with breaking over texture?
Hi Amanda! Yes i too am addicted to kiln openings lol. The turquoise lake is opaque but runs on the thin side. I have it in dipping form and I make sure it is well stirred and I hold it in for about 4 seconds. I love the color though.
