I do like this a lot from a storytelling standpoint, it's a really good change. And there are at least one or two logical reasons to do this, such as staggering Recovery Girl's potential load of patients. But as much as I defend the logic and fairness level of the exams in general this IS the one point I have to concede every time. Giving some students time to observe and greater time to plan is too much of an advantage. Not a huge one, given how individually tailored each exam is this isn't the ridiculous edge it would be under other circumstances. And a few bonus points for putting the two least likely to observe and plan (Red Riot and Sugar Rush) first. But, overall, this feels like a poor 'in world' change.
@@snvhill It is unfair, but it also is completely fair in that the order was picked at random. It's sort of like in normal school when nobody wants to be the first one to present so the teacher picks a random student. On one hand, it's unfair that someone goes first, but on the other it's completely fair in that every student had the same chance of being picked.
I'm really glad Aizawa's goal was to restore Momo's confidence and that he saw right away that it was her biggest problem. Momo's quirk is absolutely incredible, but it only works in the case that she works hard to study what everything she makes is made of. If she wasn't as smart and hardworking as she is, her quirk wouldn't really mean anything. Aizawa just wanted to give her one final push to realize just how incredible and capable she is.
Honestly, her biggest drawback is that she has too many options. She can create anything, so she has to know what is the best option in any scenario. Giving her the confidence to make a choice and run with it is a huge step forward in using her power.
@@aquashuriken1634 yeah she could literally study support equipment and then make her own on the fly for to help her in any situation. It'd probably be tough because she'd have to understand the dimensions/weight/physics of her body down to a t to create top tier equiment but it's an anime about superpowers so it's definitely plausible 😂
I love how wholesome, yet dense Todoroki is, and also that moment Yaoyorozu was creating the scarf and he turns away nervous, the VA really nailed that hilariously
this episode really cemented aizawa as one of the best characters in the show for me. he's intelligent, perceptive, caring for his students and really cool. best pro hero
Todoroki could’ve asked but I don’t blame him for just saying his idea and her not suggesting otherwise. I don’t think he was trying to bulldoze over her. She just wasn’t confident enough to say anything and he just went with his idea. It would be different if she tried to suggest something and he shut her down but he didnt
The end scene with Ururaka and Aoyama gets me every time. 😅 Aoyama's a character I thought was gonna be annoying at first, but nah. He's just a funny goofball.
If you missed it, the dolls Momo made look almost like her. You can tell because the design has her hero clothing was well as her hairstyle. You can get a clear view at 13:58.
21:21 I would just like to take this moment to point out how absolutely bull crap overpowered Shoto is. He made that ice wall to block aizawa's vision in less time than it takes a person to blink (as evidenced by the fact that his ice would have stopped working again the instant Aizawa opened his eyes, since his quirk doesn't actually shut off when he blinks, it just stops momentarily due to the blink itself), and not only did he MAKE the wall that fast, he had enough reaction time to REACT to someone blinking without even being able to see them blink. That's insane by itself. But that also means that if YOU don't have the same level of reaction time, he can literally ice spike through your skull, from a decent range, faster than you can blink, and he can do it effectively at will. If he wanted to, he could kill almost everyone in the show singlehandedly. He's absolutely cracked, and he's not even at the top of his game yet.
to be fair todoroki only need his ice wall to be as big as him in order to block aizawa's vision. so he continued the giant ice wall well after aizawa opened his eyes again.
By the way... Nitinal is a real metal, and it IS a memory metal the way it's described. This is the first time I've ever seen it mentioned in pop culture. :D

My favorite thing about Todoroki and Yaoyorozu vs Aizawa is that Yaoyorozu's strategy actually, legitimately took Aizawa out of commission. With teams like Asui and Tokoyami, they passed the test but realistically just getting a cuff on the enemy wouldn't stop a real villain, but Yaoyorozu's plan completely immobilized her enemy which means it would work in an actual crisis
12:34 "for us" 13:53 aw so close it looked like she wanted to say something 15:40 ohh okay she got it I mean it doesnt feel too overrhought hehe "I am me!" 34:20 oh no mention of Recovery Girls comment
I’ll be doing an analysis of each of the tests as I did last episode. Ectoplasm vs Tokoyami (14) and Tsu (6) Target: Tokoyami (quirk reliance) Intended Victory: Capture Tokoyami is over reliant on Dark Shadow and has done little work on his own personal strength and speed. Which creates a rather gaping weakness if you CAN get around or best dark shadow. You’ll notice every time Dark Shadow goes away from Tokoyami to attack a clone, other clones tag team him so he defends himself. Luckily Tsu is there providing cover. As an all-arounder what she struggles with isn’t a clear weakness but rather being unable to keep pace with stronger or faster opponents. As is the case with most all-arounders. They are on a team because either would carry their team too much and be too reliant on one student. Which this test is VERY against. Once the giga clone appeared, it was just a means of insuring neither of them got past him and all he had to do was fend off Dark Shadow instead of all 3. (Likely because Tokoyami as much as he was doing was not actually addressing his weakness.) At that point all options remaining were exhausted and they could only hope Dark Shadow could cuff him with some sleight of hand. Just because a character won’t address their weaknesses doesn’t mean they can’t have a plan that can still get past the teachers. And Tokoyami and Tsu definitely worked together well and were strategizing a lot and Ectoplasm acknowledged how much their plan did. Power Loader vs Iida (2) and Ojiro (8) Target: Iida (Stain involvement) Intended Victory: Escape Yeah this one was entirely testing Iida if he had learned from his needless engaging with Stain. It was much like the conditions here. You chose his turf, he’s faster, stronger, and better suited for fighting you, and you STILL chose to dive into the ground headfirst. (Also the weights were POINTLESS on Power Loader since he’s driving a robot which is the big aspect that makes the test much harder for the target here) Granted this was also meant to have BOTH of them escape with some clever thinking. And Iida made a sacrifice play instead for an easy answer. Which is why Power Loader only said “Not bad.” Ojiro didn’t get to do much. But what he DID do was make Iida aware of the traps. I assume he was meant to be doing more actively and it may have even meant to be an underground battle in tunnels. But he did get Iida to stop and think a bit more and Ojiro did pounce off the pro so the teamwork WAS there even if over reliant. These tests might be well designed but the teachers can’t account for everything. They likely didn’t get a good grade but they passed! Aizawa vs Todoroki (5) and Momo (1) Target: Todoroki (Stain involvement) Intended Victory: Aizawa didn’t seem to mind either but I think it was capture This one was all about strategy honestly less power. They had to think what they could do with their quirks in mere instances or without using them at all. And it all came down to who takes the lead in the strategizing. Todoroki took the lead despite Momo being MUCH better suited for the role. And ordinarily such actions would result in Aizawa going all out and failing them right there like Cementoss did. But because he felt so bad for Momo, he gave them a 2nd chance with her at the lead, and gave her all the time she needed to think of a plan. (Since the hero she worked for accidentally took away more confidence from her rather than inspiring her to have more. Which was not on Momo. Uwabami didn’t need to tell Momo and Kendo you look good for the commercials, but we’ll be using CGI to make it better.) Aizawa didn’t let himself get caught, he ACTUALLY fell for the trap. And he wasn’t lying when he said he thought Todoroki was going to make another big ice move to catch him. Momo’s arsenal is just so huge not even a pro can account for all of it. But if she doesn’t have the time to think about it, she can’t use it, which is why Aizawa had all the opportunity he needed to fail them when Todoroki had the lead. He was also trying really hard not to get caught by Todoroki’s big moves he was too reliant on against Stain. So for an on the fly strategy switch for both Aizawa and the kids, this was probably the best result Aizawa could’ve hoped for.
Question: Why is your analysis buried so deep in the comments section? This is the first I'm seeing, and it's not like I haven't been checking out the comment section. I guess it's backtracking for me.

Just wanted to stop by and tell you both that I am enjoying the heck out of your channel! Kenny you have such a big heart, I had the same reactions watching MHA the first time it made me so emotional and Almight has jumped to one of my favorite characters of all time. Montana, you are so clever, insightful and really have an eye for plots and theories, you two together are a great combo!
the girls i find most likely to make the top ten as adults are 1) tsu 2)yammomo 3) ochako (but i didnt feel that way until later seasons, her best moments are yet to come)
Tsuyu’s quirk (being a frog) doesn’t sound like much, but she’s incredibly good at adapting her skills for hero work! If she hadn’t preferred the “saving” aspect more than the “winning” one, she’d be a formidable fighter for sure.
See, to me, Aizawa clearly let himself get caught-kinda. Obviously he didn't know about the shape metal, but from what personally thought was going on wasn't even "I'm going to let her win to give her back her confidence" so much as "I'm still going to be working to challenge them, but it would just be cruel for them to fail because of one misaligned flick of the wrist." The purpose of these tests were to test people on what was their perceived biggest weakness, Momo's obviously being her confidence and her quick thinking, so he was willing to give it one extra secong to see it through and judge if she had a quality plan. If that wasn't shape metal and she just made a scarf to distract him, he'd likely be right back to catching them.
Tsuyu is probably my favorite of the Class 1-A students. She may not be the strongest in any given area, but she's a very good all around-er, and I appreciate her calm and level headed nature. Momo's Quirk is fascinating, because as she gets more experience and learns better/faster decision making, she becomes someone that you either blitz and defeat really quickly, or she has time to come up with a counter to almost anything.
Yknow whats rlly cool as a concept, if todoroki and momo ever had kids and their quirks fused its be very overpowered, the combined quirk could make constructs out of fire and ice, which todoroki can do to an extent but not to a complex degree
Lmao I feel like in a recent reaction I'm not sure which Kenny was wearing an Iron Giant hat I think. Soft launching Hogarths name. What a cute name for a kitty
As much as I like Yaoyorozu, I don't really think she's suited to be a hero. Her quirk looks powerful on a very superficial level but in reality she's pretty much a quirkless girl using objects to fight against literal super humans with enhanced physical abilities like strength, speed, defense and instant activation long range attacks. Tokoyami literally went easy on her during their fight (and he was nerfed by the sun) and I honestly can't consider this battle against Aizawa a victory for her. It was Aizawa's own cautious nature (over Todoroki's quirk, not her) what made him lose even after she messed up her own plan with the catapult (her quirk doesn't give her any kind of proficiency with the tools she creates as shown here), her plan was essentially just Todoroki's plan but with the roles reversed and she needed to be paired up with someone with a quirk fair better suited for combat in order for her to even have enough time to think of a plan. If it wasn't because Todoroki's ice wall was there to stall for time for her she would've been defeated pretty easily. And she's clearly not fast or resilient enough to engage in hand to hand combat either.
I picture her as the head of a team, rather than a solo hero. You put her in charge of a group of say two or three people, one with some form of super strength (one of the most common powers shown in the show), one with some form of scouting power (think Shoji, Jiro, Hawks, etc, a broad enough power to be common) and maybe someone with a good ranged power, (admittedly a less common power, but there are still several varieties shown in the show) and she could handle a TON of different scenarios. She does need to work some more on close quarters combat, but she has only been in hero school for a few months here. She can pick that up. She is a great supportive hero, as she can leverage other people's skills to the most effect, and fill in any gaps with her own quirk.
@@JDP5127 The fact that she needs team fights and people with quirks far better suited for combat to defend her and to even stand a chance in the battle field without dying and to carry out her plans just proves my point. She isn't suited to be a hero at all. She would pretty much be a civilian shouting to the actual heroes to save the day. Not to mention that as have been proven already, she massively struggles with quick thinking and pressure in a world where no villain would give her any chance to think. Much less considering that in the hero world she'll rarely get the chance to know the quirk of the opponent beforehand. Also, she pretty much has wearing clothes as a weakness and her skills are a giant canon that she can't even move at best and a pair of sticks at worse.

Kenny you have such a big heart, I had the same reactions watching MHA the first time it made me so emotional and Almight has jumped to one of my favorite characters of all time. Montana, you are so clever, insightful and really have an eye for plots and theories, you two together are a great combo!
the girls i find most likely to make the top ten as adults are
1) tsu
2)yammomo
3) ochako (but i didnt feel that way until later seasons, her best moments are yet to come)
Tsuyu’s quirk (being a frog) doesn’t sound like much, but she’s incredibly good at adapting her skills for hero work!
Cat related shenanigans make this episode even better somehow
Hogarth like Hogarth Hughes from the Iron Giant?
Have you told hogarth "you stay, me go" yet!?
“ No Following.” 😢😢
This is where my Aizawa simping began🥲🥹
16:13 Equal overthinking, but Yaoyorozu’s is negative. Demi tends to overthink how he can succeed. Momo overthinks how she will fail.
I'm sorry, but what happened during this reaction..?
There was a cat I had to adore... AGAIN! 😍😂
So the question remains: Is Momo your Best Girl or are you wrong?
Lmao I feel like in a recent reaction I'm not sure which Kenny was wearing an Iron Giant hat I think. Soft launching Hogarths name. What a cute name for a kitty
OMG, AFTER ALL THIS TIME, HOW DID I NOT SEE IT? YAOYOROZU IS ERZA'S VA! roflma at myself! (right?)
"Never work with children or animals"
This reaction was beset by the feline menace! 😛
We need more Catts React~ :D
how does everyone gets dogs that are ok with kittens and vice versa?
Todoroki and Momo are totally ship material. 🥰
Please don't ship characters. The MHA community is bad enough for that 💀
@@WhereMerx I ship in every fandom. But yeah i get what you mean. Things often get crazy. 😂
@@etsap1236 I can't help but ship them too! I guess I've just got a shippers brain haha
Yamomo can probably start up copy Totoroki's quirk.
I always love seeing the kitty’s ❤
Love your animal family members so cute.❤
Hogarth? Hoagie!
i am officially in the momoroki camp
We men are all like that to our women haha "you feel sick? Did you sleep or drink water?" I mean it works for us!! Hahaha
Aizawa is the best teacher.🥺
She gets better.

The fact that she needs team fights and people with quirks far better suited for combat to defend her and to even stand a chance in the battle field without dying and to carry out her plans just proves my point.
@@Jayfive276
Not really.
@@giboit. Yes really. See Chapter 402
Waiting for ep. 23
It's cats!
I want them to react to Fairytail sooooo badddd
I love fairy tail so much but I don't know if they'd be able to get past all of the fan service in it lol
Sadly, this is the ONLY time Momo actually really gets to do anything.
Todomomo shippers gather⬇️
Pretty sure the mangaka ships it, too.
(Personally, I ship IidaxMomo, but I got no problem with Todomomo.)
Greetings and Salutations
One of my favorite ships
@@Cherry._.blossom._. It's aight
Shippers 🤦🏼♂️
hi ru your so cute ruru im big fan
\
Apparently, Hirokoshi (MHA's author) ships Todoroki and Yaoyarozu.
Personally, I like Iida x Momo, but I don't have a problem with Todomomo.
Todomomo is my second true paring behind Dekuravity.
Did he say that in an interview or a comment on one of his chapters?
@@Jeannnnboiii IDK. That's just something I've heard.
@thegreendragon5390 Okay, "Dekuravity" is SO much better than "Izuocho", or however it goes.
I don’t think it was the author, but I know Todoroki’s Japanese va loves Momo/Todomomo
