Mochi can be eaten savory too! It tastes great with soy sauce and seaweed, the classic, but my favorite is お雑煮(ozōni), a dish that’s eaten typically for new years (I eat it year round😅). Ozoni is different for each family but my mumma makes a clear bonito broth based soup with komatsuna (mustard leaf). I like to wait until the crispy outside turns really melty and soft in the broth. So yeah, you can experiment with your mochi!

Just rmb the rice has to be able to be crushed with fingers without putting effort after soaking) 3. Steam with any equipment thats meant for steaming (best if meant for rice)the soaked white rice with water until its cooked 4. Throw it into a mixer gracefully 😌 (a BLENDER is a different thing and it WONT WORK don’t misunderstand although it works similarly)
