I live in Michigan so each winter this happens to my 09 M5 is really annoying and expensive to take it in to get fixed. I just tried it and it worked after the first time but then came right back :( will try it again tomorrow.. Fingers crossed, thanks for the video

My battery wad dead and I got A JUMP AND DROVE it for an hour or so. But got the DSC MALFUNCTION error. I turned st wheel to left and to DT a few times and then drove it, but when I turned it off , I got no power except a flickering light in the hazard lamp n the dash. I probably didn’t charge the battery fully. Any ideas?
Hi Tom it’s seems like you battery may be dead please use a voltmeter to check voltage of battery or a car battery tester to see your battery status . And if you battery is dead and you get a new battery don’t forget to get it programmed after changing . You can use a
AutoFIX OBD Reader .
On my E60 when my battery was low on charge DSC came on once changing new battery and using the Method on video it went away.
Does this mean your car is in rwd when u get this message

I have E53 2005 X5 4.4i and got only 4x4 light. but this reset method did not work, no matter how many time I tried.
On mechanics recommendation, changed transmission (used) yet the 4x4 light did not go away and have weak torque and so delay engagement if accelerated it sound like clutch is slipping. Please any help !
Hey sorry to hear that you had to change the transmission but I didn’t have any issue like that for my e60 it started for me on a snow day when my tire spun out and my 4x4 light came on and after some research and trial and error I was able to get rid of the sign by turning the steering all the Way right and left few times and driving around the block slowly and doing same and it went away by it self. Hope the info helps!
There is an electrical motor for the 4x4 on the x5 problem solved

Can it be an absolute sensor triggered it..
Or is it actually the 4x4
Hi I believe it’s the senior can’t say for sure 100% but I can say when it happened to me I was getting outta to go home and I had no choice but to drive and I drove home and was able to find this solution. So I think it’s the sensor .
Would this work on a rwd 330i? Or just the xi?
Hi , From My experience it works on xi that has the 4x4 drive but you can give it a try on rwd and see what happens . Hope you issue gets resolved.

Please my E83 is having no communication with Dsc , showing Red on ISTAP CONTROL TREE . Any possible fix please
@@theedifyingassembly2985 take off speed control sensors and clean them off ..put a washer on it and it should clear my e83 did the same so I did this and it worked
OK, by speed control, you mean ABS sensors?
The issue on your e83 x3 is that the whole SSC unit is unable to communicate with any diagnostic machine . Its showing Red on Ista d control Tree . Any help please

Hi sorry to hear that have to tried to turn the wheel left and right and turn off the car and re do it few times and drive around the block or two and re spin the steering wheel. If it’s still happens might have a get a diagnosis by a mechanic but it worked for me and it’s been over a year still no issue. Thanks hope your problem gets solved

I did that and it went away and came back as soon as I moved and hit the brake

Hi I didn’t have any such issue where my car stopped I just did this and sign went away and no issue for me while driving but if you have such issue with driving or car stopped then you might need to see a mechanic it may be something else. Thanks
