I have carried my bike up and down the drop a few times so I am super impressed that you rode it! The POV camera does not come close to capturing how difficult that is. Much respect.
@@tonyboughman8050 thank you!! The POV never does things justice, I tried to get a shot from the bottom to give a better perspective how chunky the line is but even that doesn’t show it all that well. I’m just stoked to make it down in one piece!
That looks crazy steep on camera! Good job, I don't know that I would have had the courage! Cool to see some riding on the western slopes, I'll be out that way this summer, can't wait to ride some new terrain.
@@mathewemden2068 And it’s even steeper in person! It’s taken me about a year to build up the courage and desire to come back to ride this, but I’m so glad I did! That’s awesome, the trails in that area are pretty unique, just bring lots of water, it gets HOT in the summer!
@@mguzikowski it didn’t feel the smoothest but I’ll take it, thank you!!! And thank you for the bike love, I’ve put a lot of effort into building this one, and I’m very stoked on it too!!
Well done man. I did this drop 20 years ago, but it has changed a lot from what I can see on videos. The bottom is way more jumbled now due to erosion. I rode it on 26" wheels. Lol. It did take me about 5-6 fails before I nailed it. I was able to go left of the big rock roll into a slot that trickled me though the rubble at the bottom. That line seems to have disappeared over time. The rock roll is now the only line. I want to get back there and ride it on my 2023 Rocky Mountain Instinct. Happy New Year.
@@petedog9581 big respect to you my friend! That line is still kind of there but likely has seen some erosion like you said. It is quite narrow and basically a drop to flat. Even though the line has gotten chunkier, you may find it easier if you’ve already ridden it on 26” wheels! Happy new year!
My God Chuck...I still can't quite believe my eyes...I could never, ever try that horrendous descent into the rock garden of hell!! How on earth did you manage that without breaking your bike or having an OTB moment?...Not sure if I told you this already but I think you have one of the biggest pair of "huevos" I've ever seen! And those tech climbs that end up 20cm from a cliff on the left...You have no fear, my friend. Much, much respect! What a ride that was. I wish you the best new year's eve possible and a great 2025 my friend! Cheers from Coimbra, Portugal!
@@luismartins9521 Haha thank you!! I rode a lot of DH park over the summer with some friends that are better than me and pushed me to progress a lot! That experience gave me the confidence to ride the things I do now. And trust me, there is still very much fear involved, but the mind is a powerful thing, and focusing on confidence over fear unlocks potential I didn’t know I had! I still have work to do to gain strength and endurance to push the rest of those punchy tech climbs to the finish, but I’ll get there! Happy new year and a wonderful 2025 to you as well!
