Sad Bike Hours

After a pretty gnarly slam on Trestle DH the day before, I opted to lap some more mellow flow trails with my friends. After a few runs and overshooting a jump on Day Trip, I heard something rubbing. When I stopped to check things out, I discovered I had snapped the seatstay on my rear triangle and it seems the patrol may have finished its service. #bikepark #mtb #mtbcolorado #gopro #mountainbik...
Can We Clean Trestle DH?

Join Sara, Bobby and myself as Bobby guides us through Trestle DH for our first time. A lap down 36th Chamber and Rainmaker gets us warmed up and moving, Tater Patch to space ape puts us on our game, then right into Trestle DH, a fast double black tech trail to pre ride and scope things out. We followed that with a party lap/full send down the same, and finally a Cruel And Unusual lap to finish...

Who needs a bike park when the entire desert is your playground? Sure you have to hike your bike to the top of every feature and line but with descents and options like this, I'm not complaining! Here's a couple days worth of my friends and I challenging ourselves and each other to progress and have the best time just riding bikes out in the desert.

    What’s the travel on you guys bikes and what are the bikes you all are riding? Fantastic video. I do like to see the gnar and flow…but also the struggle at times! I slipped on a root the other day and am hard on myself for not riding a section better but you all are so resilient😊

      I was riding a 2017 Transition Patrol set up 155 rear/170 front, Sara was on a Knolly Chilcotin 151 rear/ 160 front, and Nick was on a hardtail I do not have exact details on! Slips, falls, and fails happen to us all, and there's always room for improvement, but those challenges are what motivate me to keep coming back for more!

    Great perspective of the mountain! (DH rider from Colorado here) looks well maintained, some classic breaking bumps, nice jump lines with big hips. Honestly this place looks sick. What’s average the descent time for the trails you rode?

    • @ChuckHucks
      @ChuckHucks Місяць тому

      @@JPdiscgolf Angel Fire has it all from easy flowing blues to larger jump lines, steep tech, race courses and everything in between, and is one of the best maintained bike parks around! Average descent time will vary depending on routes, resting time, and ability but anywhere between 7-20 minutes is a good estimate.

    This is the second vid I've seen that the frame broke. The 1st one was Orange brand and it literally snapped in at least 3 pieces. I'd never buy Orange just because of the way they handled it. I'm glad to see you walking away.

    I'll be there for the 1st time in about 4 weeks, 8/18 - 8-22. It looks like all you have to do is carry natural speed vs. pedaling to get up to speed, to clear all the jumps.
