Pardon the scuffed audio on the B roll section. Had the Camera mic on in OBS and didn't catch until post!

I'm just about to buy mics for my podcast and I think this video has nailed what I'm looking for. Thanks

I was really impressed with all the mics except for the Rode Podcast. I'm sure it is a great mic, but seems to need a lot of tuning to sound great. For the price I might just pick up the FIFINE K669D to try out, but I currently have the Wave DX going into the Wave XLR and I DO recommend you pick one up to include in your testing, it's a great mic!

I’ve heard it’s awesome! Would be great to have it within this roundup as it’s priced well!

I might be insane, but the SM7B and Rode Pod mic had the worst sounds, the Sm7B sounded like in a tube with white noise in the back, and the rode pod mic has white noise, however here’s where I don’t find myself insane, each time I play mic 2 (rode) and then 3 (Am8) turns on my ears immediately ring less I for a fact have tinnitus, and the sm7b and pod mic makes it go nuts. Don’t know why, never notice, but the Am8 K688 Pd400x sound the best the Fduece is close but there’s this weird glitch sound almost I hear from it on the super high ends. When it goes off I imagine the vibration of the vocal cords is vibrating the capsule to much. (Idk shit about mics like that, just my mind making a vivid imagine basing my opinion off it) k699d is great but I definitely hear the audio difference now, it’s like an At2020 for $35. I think I’m going with the K688 thanks for the help I actually woke up in a cold sweat this morning first thoughts are sm7b vs k688 except I know it’s not going to be a sm7b it’s gonna be a 3D printed one with a mackie EM89D, or maybe sm58. Yk sometning like that. Or get the K688, and I think my mind was made when I told myself mic 7 was k688 and mic 6 is Sm7b and they were flipped, that was when I knew my answer, I got the first 3 right though 4-7 didn’t get right. 😂

The best comparison. My favourites in your comparison are the *SL40* and *AM8* which are both easily available from Amazon Australia. The Fifine Tank3 is another one to look at, it’s like a better version of the AM8 with a bit more low end but not as thick as the SL40 which can be a bit much sometimes.

I know its been 7 months since the release of this video. Just wanted to say that I liked Fduce sl40 the most, since it sounds less harsh in the higher frequencies. It's funny that the least pleasant sound was number 7 which is sm7b :) but i guess it's due to a lack of gain from sc1. Thank you for the review, blind test ia a real convenient thing when you don't build your opinion by the brand name.

Number 1 was the best, and 3 was also good, and to me number 4 and 6 were pretty close to number 1. Numbers 2, and 5 sounded the about the same, but once you got to number 7, the quality just dropped. Everything else sounded pretty decent but with 7 you can tell that it was lower.

The first thing I noticed was the low sound quality of the mic at the top of the video (Samson c02? Terrible mic dump that one) Also sounds over processed. Mics 2 and 5 are the best of the lot. Everything else seems to be imparting too much color, especially most were bass heavy 7 was mid heavy but relative to the others more balanced. 25 years of pro sound engineering has taught me that the flatter the mic the better because you can always add color but removing is much harder. I made my judgment before the reveal.

So i guest , youre 25 years of pro sound engineering was teach you that`s every humain voice have a specific spectre of tones and harmonics... so each mic will sound great with some voice and other voice will not sound good...

@@thethings4708 It did and I have worked with musicians who carry their own mics for that same reason. But don't you think that for mics for video you want to also be able to grab room noise, sound for foley, musical instruments, mic'd cabinets, etc. and capture it accurately? So, flat frequency response in a mic is good. Like I said you can in any color in post.

@@DarkenedCyrus If you take the boomy bass down in post on the samson c02 itd be a darn good mic.
But all the mics in the test are real close.

The Pd400X seems a little brighter when compared to the rest, am I right?
My requirement is a USB + XLR mic and so what would you say is the number 1 as of now?

If you need both, I’m going K688 all day. It truly sounds the best on USB at least to me. If you can swing the cost, the PD400X has some software features that are nice to have

    Sir
I am very tired of asking everyone. But I did not get the right advice from anyone. Some say to buy a dynamic mic, some say to buy a condenser mic. I want to record my poetry professionally at home. Please tell me a good mic and audio interface which gives me professional sound quality within my budget. My room is not Sound proof, My total budget is 350 dollars for audio interface, mic and headphones.

      @DarkenedCyrus  16 днів тому

UA-cam comments might not be the best place to ask everyone, especially as everything is subjective.
If I was doing professional recordings, I’d focus on room treatment. But if you aren’t going to go that route, get a microphone recording box off Amazon that wraps foam around the mic stand.
There isn’t the perfect mic, but condenser mics will pick up more raw, natural sounds, but will also pick up more room sound in some cases depending on how you set it up.
