I fell down the stairs last month & bent my iPhone 6S but did not crack the screen. My work would not provide a replacement so I bought a new backplate & used your video. I didn't have the special hex tool or a heat gun, but I was able to use small pliers and a hairdryer. Very appreciative of this video! Thank you.
Yeah, actually it has a serial number and everything. I bought the wrong color because I didn't realize there are two greys. Everything fit perfectly. I'm assuming it was salvage? Like someone got their phone wet & this was the only piece that could be saved? My phone worked great for a while but now it's making random squeals during calls. :( Wondering if it's a loose connection for the screen that is an easy fix.
Great video! I had a 4 year old iPhone 6s laying around that had scuffs and dents all over the back cover and its battery health was at 76%. The reassembly also resolved the incredibly silent speaker - that was a surprise to me. Almost freaked out completely questioning my life while doing this but after two hours I was finished. Now I got a new phone. The most important thing is: Take notes. Make photos. Write down every screw and where it belongs to. I'm recommending to tag every single screw with a number and write that number on screenshots of this video.
@@Juanmantt It's actually really easy. Just follow the instructions carefully, take your time when removing the flex cable(the charging port). I used a regular hair dryer for the charging port, heated up the whole back side and carefully pried up the charging port and at the end it kinda "popped". So if you are thinking about doing it, do it but careful! Hope everything goes well, good luck!
Your guide helped me switch out my 6s space grey chasis to a Red version. Everything has worked without any issue, although going down the path of switching out the new coloured buttons was tricky, as u mention, with swapping out the magnets and the back latch thing. The magents will pry out with some patience using a small flat head screw driver, and they restick easily in the new buttons.
Fantastic video! Followed all the steps as shown and turned a battered-framed broken screen 6s into a brand new phone! Issues i encountered were pull tabs not working (resulted in an unusable pried battery) and also my replacement buttons were shorter than original, requiring the screws to be loosened a little to work, but wasn't too hard to me. My phone is now perfect and I'm extremely satisfied having "built" my own phone! All in all this took me a careful weekends work, but would have only been one day if i didn't need a new battery asap lol. Thank you for the video and keep up the good work!
