    Siiiick thumbnail!
    Love my Pegasus Turbo 2, they have been far more durable than expected for me. Also, super versatile - some of my best long runs and some of my best tempo runs in these...
    Also, loved the toebox volume. The heel was a little weird but once I figured out the lockdown, no issues at all. Probably going to order a second pair.

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому

      Thanks Colin! That’s awesome to hear and they do last a decent amount of time! I’m on my second pair now with my first one at over 350miles. It’s still got some life left but I can definitely feel the foam not being that bouncy anymore. Get them before they start phasing them out soon 😄.

      How narrow is the shoe? I had to return both Pegasus 36 and the newest infinity run cause they were too narrow for my feet

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому +1

      If you had trouble with those other two shoes than this probably won’t fit either. It’s about the same size as the Pegasus 36. Did you try the wider version of the Pegasus? The 37 had a wide version too.

      Thanks Zhixun! I believe the weight is important and if anything that's one aspect that is black/white to understand with these shoes. You can really feel the difference with a 7 oz shoe compared to a 9 or 10 oz shoe.

    I love both Turbo versions. I actually purchased 3 of the Turbo 2s. Great video. The shoes do feel better when your going alittle faster (tempo runs). I definitely hope the new version this year will be as good. I also hope I'm lucky enough to get the Turbo 2 discount for a few more pair under $100. This is a fun shoe and again a great review.

      Thanks MJ! I’m hoping the new line will be good too but can’t go wrong with getting these for under $100. I see them releasing the new alpha shoes probably late summer while liquidating all of the turbos in the meantime so great time to pick up a few to put them in the rotation as a tried and true shoe.

    Just came back from a short run in my Peg 35 Turbo. The midsole just felt flat (at 400km now) , I needed to push quite hard to get the pace, thinking of retiring the pair already. Surprisingly my 4% seems to last longer using same zoom x. Tq for the video.

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Gundam, 400km doesn’t seem like a lot of distance. It’s a shame that it has gone flat already. My pegasus turbo 2 lasted 482 km and 4% is at 320km and still going pretty strong minus the outsole wearing.

    • @livegreatalways
      @livegreatalways 4 роки тому +1

      @@RunWithJ well, it was good for as long as it lasts, i better retire it b4 I get myself injured unnecessarily. Same with the Rincon, that midsole went dead at just about 300km 😔. How do you deal with the heel slip?

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому +1

      What kind of worked for me was to wear thicker socks to kind of fill in the shoe. I like wearing ankle socks while running but for these I also wear long compression socks so it doesn’t rub on my bare Achilles while running. I’ve also had to tighten the laces more to keep my foot in but be careful not to make it too tight which caused pain for me on the top of the foot. It’s a good shoe but not a perfect shoe in any way. Hope that helps.

      RunWithJ helps a lot thank you. Would you prefer the 1st turbos tothese?

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому

      I would probably choose the Pegasus turbo 2 but only because of the weight difference and I can deal with the heel issue. Both of the shoes are very similar in terms of materials but some people really like the turbo 1s because of the cushioned upper/heel but everything else is very similar. If you care about weight and like it little firm I would get turbo 2 and If you hate heel slipping and want comfort and can deal with shallow toe box Pegasus 35 turbos would be good. Being that the 1st turbos probably are older you can probably get them for really cheap so they would make the better overall deal in my opinion.

    • @iGo0gIe
      @iGo0gIe 4 роки тому +1

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому

      Hey Nick, sorry getting back to you a little late. It depends how much you run. They will last about 300 miles and that’s about it in my experience. If you have other shoes in the rotation they should last you a year. I had mines for a year and half with one other shoe in the rotation and I run about 100-150 miles a month. The zoomx foam doesn’t last very long.

  • @lvalday
    @lvalday 4 роки тому +1

    • @RunWithJ
      @RunWithJ  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Luis! Mines went flat around 250 miles. I can really feel the difference with the new pair as it’s so much more bouncy and hurts my foot less while running. The foam just doesn’t give me any support on the old pair and after i run in them I have Achilles strain. I really beat up my first pair running it in trails and in bad weather so that could be a reason why too. Compared to my infinity run that’s at 375 miles and still being ok I don’t see these lasting that long. I think the zoomx foam while it’s nice just isn’t made to last too long compared to react foam.

My concerns about durability come from the fact that I usually buy my shoes in the US and with covid 19 I don't think I will be able to travel or ask a friend to bring me shoes soon. I'm training for Chicago 2020 (if it is not cancelled) and I have to decide if I'll buy an overly priced outdated shoe (I live in Bolivia and, for instances, green ZF 3's price is USD.200) or wait until August in order to travel and buy my shoes, but that's an option only if my PT2 (120 miles on them) can hold up for my training (I have 4 other shoes in rotation with pretty much the same mileage and I don't want to use the pt2 until they finally get me injured)
